Let K be an imaginary quadratic field with ring of integers 𝓞_K and N be a positive integer. By K_(N) we mean the ray class field of K modulo N𝓞_K. In this paper, for each prime p of K relatively prime to N𝓞_K we explicitly describe the action of the Artin symbol (${\frac{K_{(N)}/K}{p}}$) on special values of modular functions of level N. Furthermore, we extend the Kronecker congruence relation for the elliptic modular function j to some modular functions of higher level.

The araC prodrugs (1~5) carrying a special acyl group at 5'-Ο-or $N^4$-position were evaluated for in vitro antiviral activity against various human viruses. When tested against HSV-1 and HSV-2 cultured in the verso cells, the prodrugs exhibited slightly higher $ED_{50}$ values compared with one of the parent araC but showed more increased $CC_{50}$ values in all cases. Consequently the overall selectivity indexes of prodrugs were higher than that of arab. The prodrugs, except compound 5, exhibited very potent activity similar to that of araC ($ED_{50}$ about $0.12{\mu}g/mι$) when evaluated against another human DNA virus, cytomegarovirus. However, theses araC prodrugs were completely inactive against RNA viruses i.e. poliovirus and coxackie B3 virus at the concentration of 4250{\mu}g/mι.$

The Hurwitz-type Euler zeta function is defined as a deformation of the Hurwitz zeta function: $${\zeta}_E(s,x)={\sum_{n=0}^{\infty}}{\frac{(-1)^n}{(n+x)^s}}$$. In this paper, by using the method of Fourier expansions, we shall evaluate several integrals with integrands involving Hurwitz-type Euler zeta functions ${\zeta}_E(s,x)$. Furthermore, the relations between the values of a class of the Hurwitz-type (or Lerch-type) Euler zeta functions at rational arguments have also been given.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the production of English vowels by native speakers of Korean. In the production test, two English speakers and four native Korean speakers served as subjects. The four native Korean speakers were divided into two groups, experienced and inexperienced. Native English speakers generally showed significant differences both in vowel duration and in F1 & F2 values between members of vowel pairs which are of special interest of this study: /i/l vs. /I/, /$\varepsilon$/ vs. /${\ae}$/, and /u/ vs. /$\mho$/. The overall results showed that the experienced group produced more accurate results in vowel duration, F1, and F2 values.

이 연구는 국내외의 어린이서비스 가이드라인을 탐색하여 공공도서관 어린이 서비스에서 지향하는 핵심 가치와 서비스의 기본 원칙을 제시하였다. 우리나라의 도서관기준에 포함되어 있는 어린이 서비스 관련 내용을 비롯하여 국제도서관연맹의 어린이 서비스 가이드라인을 살펴보았으며, 영국, 미국, 캐나다. 호주 등의 다양한 어린이 서비스 가이드라인의 형식과 내용을 면밀히 검토하였다. 이를 통해 우리나라 공공도서관 어린이 서비스에 반영되어야 하는 핵심적인 가치와 운영의 기본 원칙을 제시하였다.

Authors attempted grid performance test by film methods than can be used easily on the hospital. And we investigated the utility of it comparing with the values measured by fluorescence meter recommended to be used ordinarily. The result was that, the characteristic values obtained by film methods was almost the same as those obtained by fluorescence meter methods. And besides plain film methods that can be applied simply showed small standard deviation. Therefore, we considered that it can be adopted easily on the labor that was not ready for special measuring apparatus like fluorescence meter.

In this paper, we derive recurrence relations for moments of lower generalized order statistics within a class of doubly truncated distributions. Inverse Weibull, exponentiated Weibull, power function, exponentiated Pareto, exponentiated gamma, generalized exponential, exponentiated log-logistic, generalized inverse Weibull, extended type I generalized logistic, logistic and Gumble distributions are given as illustrative examples. Further, recurrence relations for moments of order statistics and lower record values are obtained as special cases of the lower generalized order statistics, also two theorems for characterizing the general form of distribution based on single moments of lower generalized order statistics are given.

This paper describes and assesses the parameterisation of MP, the microplankton compartment of the carbon­nitrogen microplankton­detritus model. The compartment is 'the microbial loop in a box' and includes pelagic bacteria and protozoa as well as phytoplankton. The paper presents equations and parameter values for the autotroph and microheterotroph components of the microplankton. Equations and parameter values for the microplankton as a whole are derived on the assumption of a constant 'heterotroph fraction'. The autotroph equations of MP allow variation in the ratios of nutrient elements to carbon, and are largely those of the 'cell­quota, threshold­limitation' algal growth model, which can deal with potential control of growth by several nutrients and light. The heterotroph equations, in contrast, assume a constant elemental composition. Nitrogen is used as the limiting nutrient in most of the model description, and is special in that MP links chlorophyll concentration to the autotroph nitrogen quota.

The effect of Rhinacanthus nasutus leaf extract on the growth of dermatophytes had been investigated. In vitro the extract exhibited high activity against various species of dermatophytes (Trichophyton mentagrophytes var. mentagrophytes, T. mentagrophytes var. interdigitale, T. rubrum, Microsporum canis and M. gypseum). The minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) values of the extract revealed that all the dermatophytes tested had MIC values of 13.6 mg/ml. The extract exhibited fungistatic activity at lower concentrations $({\leq}13.6\;mg/ml\;or\;below\;the\;MIC\;value)$ and fungicidal activity at higher concentrations $({\geq}13.6\;mg/ml$\;or\;above\;the\;MIC\;value)$. The results suggested that the extract acted on the cell wall of the dermatophytes which subsequently leading to the formation of cytopathological and membrane structural degeneration and finally leading to cell lysis and death.

Estimation of population proportion like the distribution rate of LED TV and the prevalence of a disease are often estimated based on survey sample data. Population proportion is generally considered as a special form of population mean. In complex sampling like stratified multistage sampling with unequal probability sampling, the denominator of mean may be random variable and it is estimated like ratio estimator. In this research, we examined the estimation of distribution rate based on stratified multistage sampling, and determined some numerical outcomes using stratified random sample data with about 25% of missing observations. In the data used for this research, the survey weight was determined by deterministic way. So, the weights are not random variable, and the population distribution rate and its variance estimator can be estimated like population mean estimation. When the weights are not random variable, if one estimates the variance of proportion estimator using ratio method, then the variances may be inflated. Therefore, in estimating variance for population proportion, we need to examine the structure of data and survey design before making any decision for estimation methods.
