컨조인트 분석을 이용한 한국 전통음식 관광상품 선택 속성에 관한 연구 (Assessing Relative Importance of Korean Traditional Food Tour Program Attributes Based on Conjoint Analysis)

  • The purpose of this study was to assess the structure of the decision and the importance of the attributes in choosing food-related tour program. Questionnaires were developed in three languages- Japanese, Chinese, and English- given to 300 foreign tourists who have visited Korea in 2002. Statistical data analysis was completed using SPSS Win (ver 11.0) for descriptive analysis and conjoint analysis. The results of this study showed that the 'price' was the most important attribute (35.62%) in choosing a hypothetical food tourism program, followed by 'place' (27.35%), 'time' (26.01 %), and 'type of program' (10.22%). With respect to the relative importance values for each attribute by different groups, English- and Chinese-speaking tourists considered 'price' more than other factors, while 'time' was regarded as the most important factor for Japanese tourists. Therefore, it indicated the need to recognize the different needs among tourists and put these factors into consideration in developing the programs.

  • Periodic oral examination must be accomplished in elementary and high schools in every year, but many problemes happened to be checked out. So, the author questionnaired problem to school nurses about the periodic oral examination. The obtained results were as follows: 1. It took about 24 seconds per child to examine oral status. 2. It was revealed that school nurses could not be able to accomplish reporting about the children's oral health status. 3. generally speaking, school nurses had affirmative views about the periodic oral examination. 4. It was needed that incremental dental care system was operated for school children. 5. It was concluded that school dental health with man-power problem was dealt on the government level.

  • Chronic recurrent TMJ dislocation results in difficulty of mastication, speaking, and swallowing due to the limitation of the mandibular movement. Etiologic factors are considered as the looseness of the capsule and ligaments, the decrease of the articular eminence, condylar morphologic change, muscular disharmony near by TMJ, and the decrease of the vertical length of the mandibular ramus. Treatment approach has been suggested that surgical methods are selected for the correction of the etiologic factors when conservative treatments are not effective. Many surgical methods have been reported such as eminectomy, eminence augmentation, condylotomy, and zygomatic arch down fracture technique. We performed the eminence augmentation through interpositional bone graft in chronic recurrent TMJ dislocation. This method leads to favorable postoperative result without recurrence and complication, so we report the case with related references.

  • The foundation for the theoretical establishment of the linear motor lies in the investigation of the magnetic flux distribution in its airgaps. Generally speaking, the linear motor is similar, in the principle of its operation, to the general induction motor. However, there are great differences in the aspects of its structure and characteristics, especially, in the fact that the formation of its travelling magnetic field depends on the method of its winding. This paper is written in order to introduce the method of calculating the air gap magnetic flux distribution on the basis of its ampere-conductor in the case that 2 phase winding is applied on its open magnetic circuit iron core, and to present the results of investigation of the pulsation in its travelling fields. the first and second example of winding show the case of travelling magnetic field with the constant amplitude except the end region. The third example deals with the configuration of coil-side displaced outside the core and which produce the increased flux density at the ends, but, on the contrary, forms the pulsated travelling field.

  • In this paper, we proposed a nonlinear sliding mode controller to regulate the swinging angle of Overhead Crane System. Roughly speaking, the controller is designed to regulate an output(the swing angle) while providing internal stability. It is difficult to apply many of standard nonlinear control design techniques. In contrast to control that use a command generator and possibly a time-varying feedback, our control law is simple autonomous nonlinear controller. We analyze the stability of the closed-loop system using an $L_2$ Sliding surface conditions approach on a nonlinear feedback linearization of the system about the desired periodic orbit. One can easily extend this approach to analyze the robustness of the control system with respect to disturbances and parameter variations.

  • In this study, we introduce a new category of fuzzy inference systems based on information granulation to carry out the model identification of complex and nonlinear systems. Informal speaking, information granules are viewed as linked collections of objects (data, in particular) drawn together by the criteria of proximity, similarity, or functionality. To identify the structure of fuzzy rules we use genetic algorithms (GAs). Granulation of information with the aid of Hard C-Means (HCM) clustering algorithm help determine the initial parameters of fuzzy model such as the initial apexes of the membership functions and the initial values of polynomial functions being used in the premise and consequence part of the fuzzy rules. And the initial parameters are tuned effectively with the aid of the genetic algorithms and the least square method (LSM). The proposed model is contrasted with the performance of the conventional fuzzy models in the literature.

Project-based CALL Class: Linking the Theory and Practice

  • This paper introduces a class model based on a course, Internet English, offered by an English department at a university. The course has dual purposes of developing students I English skills and Internet using skills at the same time. In support of using the Internet for language learning, the advantages of project-based language learning and constructivist learning in relation to CALL are explored. The activities in this course, which are basically project-based under the paradigm of constructivist learning perspective, are explained in detail to show the relationship between second language learning theory and teaching application. The way how the four language skills - speaking, listening, reading, and writing - are integrated in this class is described as well. Finally, judgmental evaluation of the course by the students is noted. The results show that a project-based CALL class could be a promising class model to realize an integrative, constructivist, and authentic learning.

  • In this paper, we implement measurement functionality for the 3GPP (Third Generation Partnership Project) WCDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access) modem. Generally speaking, the receiving algorithms in normal modems cannot be used directly to the measurement system due to the lack of the measurement accuracy. In this paper, we propose the new measurement algorithm for precise 3GPP WCDMA signal measurements. In the measurement algorithm, 4-stage parameters estimation scheme is used. To improve the measurement accuracy, we increase the number of the received signal samples by interpolation. The proposed 3GPP WCDMA signal measurement algorithm can be used for verifying and implementing SoC/FPGA modem measurement systems.

Optical Wireless Access Point Agent Networks

  • This paper proposes an optical wireless transfer agent method which realizes the continuous and swift data transfer of optical wireless terminals in optical wireless networks. The unguided wireless channel generally shows frequent link disconnections and propagation delays due to weak wireless links. Specially speaking, optical wireless channels have more vulnerable links and roaming propagation delays relative to the weakness of the previous RF channels due to their low signal connectivity and small geographic coverage. Conventional optical wireless network protocols did not consider any fault models about physical link faults. Consequently, they have shown data transfer inefficiency for both data link control and physical wireless link control. To overcome these optical wireless environmental problems, this paper suggests a new wireless access point (or base station) agent system, which provides wireless or mobile clients with previous link layer protocols compensated.

Blind Source Separation of Acoustic Signals Based on Multistage Independent Component Analysis

  • We propose a new algorithm for blind source separation (BSS), in which frequency-domain independent component analysis (FDICA) and time-domain ICA (TDICA) are combined to achieve a superior source-separation performance under reverberant conditions. Generally speaking, conventional TDICA fails to separate source signals under heavily reverberant conditions because of the low convergence in the iterative learning of the inverse of the mixing system. On the other hand, the separation performance of conventional FDICA also degrades significantly because the independence assumption of narrow-band signals collapses when the number of subbands increases. In the proposed method, the separated signals of FDICA are regarded as the input signals for TDICA, and we can remove the residual crosstalk components of FDICA by using TDICA. The experimental results obtained under the reverberant condition reveal that the separation performance of the proposed method is superior to that of conventional ICA-based BSS methods.
