영화 '킬빌(Kill Bill 1/2)'의 이접(異接)적인 시/공간 구성 연구 (A Study on the Spatial and Temporal Disjunctive Composition in the movie 'Kill Bill part 1/2')

  • The goal of this research is to study the spatial and temporal disjunctive composition of the movie 'Kill Bill part 1/2' and to lay a foundation for the future exploration of the topological relationship between contemporary architecture and cinema based upon the spatial and temporal multiplicity. Since the birth of cinema in early 20 century, architecture and cinema have a dynamic interdisciplinary relationship as Soviet director and theorist Sergei Eisenstein has called the Acropolis of Athens as 'one of the most ancient films' based upon its cinematic spatial sequence, and contemporary architect and theorist Bernard Tschumi has adopted cinematic montage technique to create his own disjunctive event-structure. As french philosopher Gilles Deleuze has traced the cinematic version of his 'disjunctive synthesis' from Eisentein's 'dialectic montage', Deleuzian 'disjunctive synthesis' can be discovered not only from the work and theory of Bernard Tschumi and Rem Koolhaas, but also from the 'Kill Bill's disjunctive composition where the heterogeneous spatial images and temporal images are under continuous interaction to create rhizomatic relationship between the cinema and viewers.

  • This study is focused on the indeterminancy of the contemporary social structure based on the philosophical concept of relationship. The indeterminate relationship is one of the prominent characteristics of contemporary architecture. This study aims to clarity the indeterminate programs of the contemporary urban spatial structures. By tracing this new characteristics of new architectural trend, the spatial situations of could be understood in light of new conceptual frame as well as some relevant architectural project cases.

도시홍수 방재를 위한 그린 인프라스트럭처 공간분석 (Spatial Analysis of Green Infrastructure for Urban Flood Mitigation)

  • Green Infrastructure has been considered as one of strategies for flood mitigation in cities. Although, the diverse benefits of green infrastructure implementation are studies, there is a lack of research on the relationship between spatial composition and configuration of green infrastructure and urban flood mitigation. To address this gap, this study 1) utilized high-resolution satellite imagery to analyze spatial composition and configuration of green infrastructure in highly developed seven cities in South Korea, and 2) conducted an empirical analysis to find the relationship between economic losses from flooding and spatial patterns of green infrastructure and development patterns. The results of this research will be helpful for urban planners to prepare green infrastructure implementation guidelines for effective urban flood mitigation.

규칙베이스 기반의 일반화를 확장한 공간 데이터 마이닝 시스템 (A Spatial Data Mining System Extending Generalization based on Rulebase)

  • 대용량의 공간(spatial) 데이터베이스에서 사용자에게 관심있고 일반화된 지식을 추출하는 것은 지형 정보 시스템이나 지식 베이스 시스템의 개발에 중요한 기법중의 하나이다. 본 논문은 공간 데이터 마이닝에 널리 사용되는 일반화(generalization) 방법을 확장한 공간 데이터 마이닝 모듈에 공간 데이터를 추론할 수 있도록 구축된 규칙베이스(rulebase)를 통합한 공간데이터 마이닝 시스템을 제안한다. 이를 위한 전위기로서 공간 데이터 우선(spatial data dominated)과 비공간 데이터 우선(nonspatial data dominated) 마이닝을 병합한 방식과 다중 주제도(multiple thematic map)가 주어졌을 때의 공간 지식을 추출해 낼 수 있는 방식을 제안한다. 또한 후위기로서 공간 객체들간의 위상 관계(topological relationship)를 추론하기 위한 공간 규칙 베이스를 구축한다.

공과대학생 공간시각화능력과 학업성취 간 관계 연구 (A Study on the relationship between engineering college student's spatial visualization skills and academic achievements)

  • In spite that spatial ability has been recognized as an important element of academic achievement in engineering studies, researches on the topic are rather limited in Korea. In this study, the relationship between spatial visualization skill and academic achievement of engineering students was investigated based on the several variables such as gender, high school education background and college course achievement. The result showed that there were significant relevance between spatial visualization skill and gender, high school type, achievement of high school level math & physics, and college course work grade of computer graphic and capstone design. According the case study, from the entry time of engineering college, support programs to reinforce spatial visualization skill are required for lower skill groups such as female and graduate from art course in high school. Also, college curriculum such as Engineering graphics, Capstone design are substantial to improve spatial visualization skill. However, more diversified sample groups and research methods are required in order to draw in depth results.

공간성, 호소유형 및 형태복잡도 지수를 이용한 토지이용과 호소수질의 관계 연구 (Investigation on the Relationship between Land Use and Water Quality with Spatial Dimension, Reservoir Type and Shape Complexity)

  • Land use types within a watershed closely are related with the water quality characteristics of receiving water bodies. Despite of a numerous studies suggesting a strong relationship between water quality and land use, there have been increasing concerns about the geographical variation and a lack of spatial integration in that relationship, which are essential to implementing these findings into land use planning and management. In the meantime, edges mediate the material flux between adjacent systems. This mediating effect of edges is strongly related to the complexity of their shapes. Land use activities within a watershed have a direct impact on the water quality of adjacent aquatic systems, and hydrological processes carry residuals from watershed into adjacent aquatic ecosystems through the edges. Therefore, the geometry of reservoirs theoretically affects the relationship between land uses in the watershed and the quality of receiving bodies of water. In this light, this study integrates the geo-spatial dimensions of land uses in the watershed using GIS and landscape indices in order to explore the relationship between land uses and water quality. Water quality characteristics, land uses and geometry of 133 randomly sampled reservoirs were correlated, based on buffer zones and types of reservoirs. The findings showed that land uses, particularly urban land uses, significantly affect water quality characteristics including BOD, COD, TN and TP, and geometry of reservoirs reduces the concentration of pollutant and nutrients in reservoirs. One of results indicates that the relationship between land use and water quality and effects of spatial dimension may vary with types of reservoirs and pollutants. These results suggest that lakeshore areas are important, particularly for TN reduction and call for a caution to land use activities nearby shoreline areas for sustaining better water quality.

  • 최근 기업 데이터의 약 80%가 공간적인 요소를 포함하고 있다는 사실이 크게 부각됨에 따라 고객 관계 관리(Customer Relationship Management, CRM) 시스템에 공간 데이터를 활용하고자 하는 새로운 분석 방법에 대한 요구가 증가하고 있다. 하지만 전통적인 CRM 시스템은 공간 데이터를 관리하거나 공간 데이터를 이용한 사용자 환경을 제공하기에 부적합하다. 본 논문에서는 레거시 CRM 시스템과 객체 지향 데이터베이스를 이용하여 엔터프라이즈 데이터와 공간 데이터의 통합관리가 가능하고 gCRM(geographic CRM)을 위한 시각화 및 분석기능을 지원하는 공간 데이터 통합관리 시스템을 설계 및 구현하였다. 본 논문에서 제시한 시스템 구축을 통하여 기 구축된 CRM 시스템에 공간 데이터 관리 및 분석이 가능한 gCRM을 효과적으로 적용할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • Commercial facilities are put under construction for inhabited remodeling due to management or cost issues. Temporary facility planning is important in inhabited remodeling because building construction and management are simultaneously performed in this type of remodeling. The purpose of this research is to identify how the temporary spatial structure changes for each inhabited remodeling construction level of commercial facilities and existence of tenants affect the spatial usability. It also examines a relationship between the traffic flow and spatial configurations during the inhabited remodeling process where the tenants are temporarily removed and only the spatial configuration are maintained and verifies if the established theory that the spatial configurations in commercial facilities significantly affect the traffic is also valid during the inhabited remodeling process. The research result was found that the amount of traffic during the inhabited remodeling construction process is more affected by the factors such as tenants rather than spatial configurations. It is anticipated that the result of this research will serve as a guideline to establish logical inhabited remodeling plans for each level of constructing temporary facilities. Furthermore, it can be used to minimize the sales damage caused by the construction or as a guideline to determine the order of tenants to be moved into the new commercial facilities.

  • 국토이용계획도, 도시계획도, 농업진흥지역도, 산지이용구분도 등 용도지역·지구 자료는 법적·공간적 특성으로 자료간 연관성을 가지고 있다. 그러나 부처별·부서별 제도운용에 따른 자료공유의 어려움, 수작업체계에 의한 용도지역·지구 경계선의 저확성 한P 등으로 자료간의 관계가 일관성이 결여되어 토지 이용에 많은 문제가 발생하고 있다. 이 연구에서는 GIS의 중첩기법을 이용하여 용도지역·지구 자료간 불부합 실태와 원인을 분석하고, 이러한 문제를 해결할 수 있는 방안으로서 자료간 연관성을 고려한 데이터모델링 방안을 제시하였다.

  • The purpose of this study is to establish the theory of the spatial composition that is 'The Structure of Relation' in Korean traditional houses. This study has been focused on the spatial composition of Hyangdan. The form composition is an element defining primitive functions and space and producing aesthetical effects, where 'quality as a substance' is not important but 'quality as a relation' is essential. Quality as a meaningful relationship comes from realization and regulation of visual attributes among form elements. Each form compositional element establishes the hierarchical structure logically with the entire order, In order for the quality of all form compositional elements to be clarified as a meaningful relationship logically, 'compositional concept' which combines a series of form elements into the grammatical dependence to a specific direction, has to be assumed. If the intrinsic relationship among a series of form compositional elements fails to confront with the 'contextual concept' which eventually indicates unique conditions for a place according to the refined compositional concept, the result of form composition never leads to a specific solution
