Hyperspectral imaging technology is one of the most efficient and fast-growing technologies in recent years. Hyperspectral image (HSI) comprises contiguous spectral bands for every pixel that is used to detect the object with significant accuracy and details. HSI contains high dimensionality of spectral information which is not easy to classify every pixel. To confront the problem, we propose a novel RGB channel Assimilation for classification methods. The color features are extracted by using chromaticity computation. Additionally, this work discusses the classification of hyperspectral image based on Domain Transform Interpolated Convolution Filter (DTICF) and 3D-CNN with Bi-directional-Long Short Term Memory (Bi-LSTM). There are three steps for the proposed techniques: First, HSI data is converted to RGB images with spatial features. Before using the DTICF, the RGB images of HSI and patch of the input image from raw HSI are integrated. Afterward, the pair features of spectral and spatial are excerpted using DTICF from integrated HSI. Those obtained spatial and spectral features are finally given into the designed 3D-CNN with Bi-LSTM framework. In the second step, the excerpted color features are classified by 2D-CNN. The probabilistic classification map of 3D-CNN-Bi-LSTM, and 2D-CNN are fused. In the last step, additionally, Markov Random Field (MRF) is utilized for improving the fused probabilistic classification map efficiently. Based on the experimental results, two different hyperspectral images prove that novel RGB channel assimilation of DTICF-3D-CNN-Bi-LSTM approach is more important and provides good classification results compared to other classification approaches.
We present a high performance cache structure with a hardware prefetching mechanism that enhances exploitation of spatial and temporal locality. Temporal locality is exploited by selectively moving small blocks into the direct-mapped cache after monitoring their activity in the spatial buffer. Spatial locality is enhanced by intelligently prefetching a neighboring block when a spatial buffer hit occurs. We show that the prefetch operation is highly accurate: over 90% of all prefetches generated are for blocks that are subsequently accessed. Our results show that the system enables the cache size to be reduced by a factor of four to eight relative to a conventional direct-mapped cache while maintaining similar performance.
In this paper, a hybrid deep learning model, called 2D convolution with bidirectional long short-term memory (2DCBLSTM), is presented that can effectively combine both spatial and temporal features for crop classification. In the proposed model, 2D convolution operators are first applied to extract spatial features of crops and the extracted spatial features are then used as inputs for a bidirectional LSTM model that can effectively process temporal features. To evaluate the classification performance of the proposed model, a case study of crop classification was carried out using multi-temporal unmanned aerial vehicle images acquired in Anbandegi, Korea. For comparison purposes, we applied conventional deep learning models including two-dimensional convolutional neural network (CNN) using spatial features, LSTM using temporal features, and three-dimensional CNN using spatio-temporal features. Through the impact analysis of hyper-parameters on the classification performance, the use of both spatial and temporal features greatly reduced misclassification patterns of crops and the proposed hybrid model showed the best classification accuracy, compared to the conventional deep learning models that considered either spatial features or temporal features. Therefore, it is expected that the proposed model can be effectively applied to crop classification owing to its ability to consider spatio-temporal features of crops.
The summed-similarity model of visual short-term recognition proposes that the estimated amount of summed similarity between remembered items and a recognition probe determines recognition judgement decision (Kahan & Sekuler, 2002). This study examined the effect of a task-irrelevant location change on the recognition decision against two remembered Gabor gratings differing in their spatial frequencies. On each trial in Experiment, participants reported if two gratings displayed across the visual fields are the same or not as the probe grating displayed after about a second of memory delay. The probe grating would be the same as or different from the memory items (lure) by 1 or 4 JND units. The location of the probe would also vary randomly across the left and right visual field with respect to the location of the corresponding memory item. The participants were instructed to perform their recognition task exclusively to the spatial frequencies of the memory items and the probe while ignoring the potential location change of the probe. The results showed that false-recognition rates of the lure probe increased as the summed similarity between the memory items and the probe increased. The rates also further increased in the condition where the probe location was different from the location of the corresponding memory item compared to the condition where the probe location was the same. The increased false-recognition rates indicate that information stored into visual short-term memory is represented as a form of well-bound visual features rather than independent features.

Recently, the need for Location-Based Services (LBS) has increased due to the development of mobile devices, such as PDAs, cellular phones and GPS. As a moving object database that stores and manages the positions of moving objects is the core technology of LBS, the scheme for maintaining the main memory DBMS to the server is necessary to store and process frequent reported positions of moving objects efficiently. However, previous works on a moving object database have studied mostly a disk based moving object index that is not guaranteed to work efficiently in the main memory DBMS because these indexes did not consider characteristics of the main memory. It is necessary to study the main memory index scheme for a moving object database. In this paper, we propose the main memory index scheme based on the R-tree for storing and processing positions of moving objects efficiently in the main memory DBMS. The proposed index scheme, which uses a growing node structure, prevents the splitting cost from increasing by delaying the node splitting when a node overflows. The proposed scheme also improves the search performance by using a MergeAndSplit policy for reducing overlaps between nodes and a LargeDomainNodeSplit policy for reducing a ratio of a domain size occupied by node's MBRs. Our experiments show that the proposed index scheme outperforms the existing index scheme on the maximum 30% for range queries.

The concept of soil moisture memory was used as a method for quantifying the function of soil to control water flow, which evaluates the average residence time of precipitation. In order to characterize the soil moisture memory, a new measurement index called stored precipitation fraction (Fp(f)) was used by tracking the increments in soil moisture by the precipitation event. In this study, the temporal and spatial distribution of soil moisture memory was evaluated along with the slope and soil characteristics of the surface (0~5 cm) soil by using satellite- and model-based precipitation and soil moisture in the Korean peninsula, from 2019 to 2020. The spatial deviation of the soil moisture memory was large as the stored precipitation fraction in the soil decreased preferentially along the mountain range at the beginning (after 3 hours), and the deviation decreased overall after 24 hours. The stored precipitation fraction in the soil clearly decreased as the slope increased, and the effect of drainage of water in the soil according to the composition ratio of the soil particle size was also shown. In addition, average soil moisture contributed to the increase and decrease of hydraulic conductivity, and the rate of rainfall transfer to the depths affected the stored precipitation fraction. It is expected that the results of this study will greatly contribute in clarifying the relationship between soil moisture memory and surface characteristics (slope, soil characteristics) and understanding spatio-temporal variation of soil moisture.
This paper examines what is the content of Gusan's urban identity, represented by the film and how the contents and aspects of this city's identity interact with the structure of the films' discourse. weaves Gunsan and Seoul into continuously reorganized cities based on an interactive relation, rather than literal ones. Seoul in which the time for a film narrative is closed is converted into the starting point for tour to Gunsan. The both points in which audiences' ex post return occurs are the starting point for the time for the film discourse and the other point in which the title is suggested. The journey-type of the narrative structure in this film is a3-dimensional spiral-shaped, rather than a 2-dimensional circular regression. embodies the characteristics and the identity and apriority of two cities, based on such a spiral-shaped temporal and spatial structure. Seoul severs the relation between grand narrative/collective memory and small narrative/individual memory as an agnostic one, in other words, it is a city that cuts off cities, relations and memory and rejects the continuity of memory. On the other hand, Gunsan is a city in which both grand and small narrative and collective and individual memory coexist and both split and isolated mind are cured and mutually consoled. It describes Gunsan as the surplus space as a being for others, while expressing its identity as robust and literal thing. The film describes it as the field in which oppositional concepts such as historical interruption and continuity and spatial being for others and originality become 3-dimensional spiral ones, through the reciprocity between the narrative and the discourse structure. This paper has an implication, in that it examines how temporal and spatial relationship constituting the urban identity interacts with the structure of the film narrative.

Objectives : Investigation of the memory and cognitive enhancing effect of HT008-1 in scopolamine induced amnesia mice. Methods : At 60 min before acquisition trials, HT008-1 (30, 100, 300 mg/kg p.o.) was administered, and 30 min later, mice were injected with scopolamin (1.0 mg/kg, i.p.). In the passive avoidance test, acquisition trials were carried out 30 min after a single scopolamine treatment. Retention trials were carried out 24h after acquisition trials. Y-maze test was carried out 30 min after a single scopolamine treatment. Spontaneous alternation behavior during an 8-min session was recorded. Inhibitory effects of HT008-1 (0.01, 0.1, 1.0 mg/ml) on AChE activity was measured. Result : HT008-1 ameliorated scopolamine-induced learning impairments and spatial cognitive function in passive avoidance and Y-maze test, respectively. Moreover HT008-1 showed a significant inhibitory effect on AChE activity. Discussion: This study presented that eMultiherb mixture HT008-1 enhanced learning memory and spatial cognitive function in scopolamine-induced amnesia mice. These results suggest that the effect of HT008-1 may be dependent on the inhibition of AChE activity.
${\beta}$-asarone (BAS) is an active component of Acori graminei rhizoma, a traditional medicine used clinically in treating dementia and chronic stress in Korea. However, the cognitive effects of BAS and its mechanism of action have remained elusive. The purpose of this study was to examine whether BAS improved spatial cognitive impairment induced in rats following chronic corticosterone (CORT) administration. CORT administration (40 mg/kg, i.p., 21 days) resulted in cognitive impairment in the avoidance conditioning test (AAT) and the Morris water maze (MWM) test that was reversed by BAS (200 mg/kg, i.p). Additionally, as assessed by immunohistochemistry and RT-PCR analysis, the administration of BAS significantly alleviated memory-associated decreases in the expression levels of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and cAMP-response element-binding protein (CREB) proteins and mRNAs in the hippocampus. Also, BAS administration significantly restored the expression of Bax and Bcl-2 mRNAs in the hippocampus. Thus, BAS may be an effective therapeutic for learning and memory disturbances, and its neuroprotective effect was mediated, in part, by normalizing the CORT response, resulting in regulation of BDNF and CREB functions and anti-apoptosis in rats.
Excessive manganese (Mn) in the brain promotes a variety of abnormal behaviors, including memory deficits, decreased motor skills and psychotic behavior resembling Parkinson's disease. Hereditary hemochromatosis (HH) is a prevalent genetic iron overload disorder worldwide. Dysfunction in HFE gene is the major cause of HH. Our previous study has demonstrated that olfactory Mn uptake is altered by HFE deficiency, suggesting that loss of HFE function could alter manganese-associated neurotoxicity. To test this hypothesis, Hfe-knockout ($Hfe^{-/-}$) and wild-type ($Hfe^{+/+}$) mice were intranasally-instilled with manganese chloride ($MnCl_2$ 5 mg/kg) or water daily for 3 weeks and examined for memory function. Olfactory Mn diminished both short-term recognition and spatial memory in $Hfe^{+/+}$ mice, as examined by novel object recognition task and Barnes maze test, respectively. Interestingly, $Hfe^{-/-}$ mice did not show impaired recognition memory caused by Mn exposure, suggesting a potential protective effect of Hfe deficiency against Mn-induced memory deficits. Since many of the neurotoxic effects of manganese are thought to result from increased oxidative stress, we quantified activities of anti-oxidant enzymes in the prefrontal cortex (PFC). Mn instillation decreased superoxide dismutase 1 (SOD1) activity in $Hfe^{+/+}$ mice, but not in $Hfe^{-/-}$ mice. In addition, Hfe deficiency up-regulated SOD1 and glutathione peroxidase activities. These results suggest a beneficial role of Hfe deficiency in attenuating Mn-induced oxidative stress in the PFC. Furthermore, Mn exposure reduced nicotinic acetylcholine receptor levels in the PFC, indicating that blunted acetylcholine signaling could contribute to impaired memory associated with intranasal manganese. Together, our model suggests that disrupted cholinergic system in the brain is involved in airborne Mn-induced memory deficits and loss of HFE function could in part prevent memory loss via a potential up-regulation of anti-oxidant enzymes in the PFC.
