Extraction of Human Body Using Hybrid Silhouette Extraction Method in Intelligent Robot System (지능형 로봇 시스템에서 하이브리드 실루엣 추출 방법을 이용한 인간의 몸 추출)

  • This paper discusses a human body extraction method for mobile robot system. The skeleton features are used to analyze human motion and pose estimation. The intelligent robot system requires more robust silhouette extraction method because it has internal vibration and low resolution. The new hybrid silhouette extraction method is proposed to overcome this constrained environment. Finally, the experimental results show the superiority of the Proposed method.

  • In recent years, LiDAR(Light Detection and Ranging) data has been widely used to prepare digital elevation models(DEMs) with the high spatial resolution of centi-meters. This paper investigated possible applications of LiDAR-derived DEMs in surface hydrology modeling, such as characterizing flow direction, identifying sub-basins in a watershed, and calculating variables like upstream contribution area. The results were compared to the results of the DEMs from conventional topographic maps.

  • 매질 내부로 전파하는 초음파는 점성손실(viscous loss), 열전도 손실(heat conduction loss) 둥 다양한 상호작용을 통해 흡수되어 열에너지로 변환되기 때문에 매질 내의 온도 변화를 발생시킨다. 본 논문에서는 RTV 고무 내부에 47 개의 열전대를 장착하여 초음파 영상 진단기로부터 발생되는 초음파 음장에 따른 각 열전대의 채널별 온도변화의 측정결과를 제시하였다.

A Density-Based K-Nearest Neighbors Search Method

  • Spatial database system provides many query types and most of them are required frequent disk I/O and much CPU time. k-NN search is to find k-th closest object from the query point and up to now, several k-NN search methods have been proposed. Among these, MINMAX distance method has an aim not to visit unnecessary node by applying pruning technique. But this method access more disk than necessary while pruning unnecessary node. In this paper, we propose new k-NN search algorithm based on density of object. With this method, we predict the radius to be expected to contain k-NN object using density of data set and search those objects within this radius and then adjust radius if failed. Experimental results show that this method outperforms the previous MINMAX distance method. This algorithm visit fewer disks than MINMAX method by the factor of maximum $22\%\;and\;average\;6\%.$

Specific Absorption Rate Values of Handsets in Cheek Position at 835 MHz as a Function of Scaled Specific Anthropomorphic Mannequin Models

  • A specific anthropomorphic mannequin (SAM) model was used to investigate the relation between local specific absorption rate (SAR) and head size. The model was scaled to 80 to 100% sized models at intervals of 5%. We assumed that the shell of the SAM model has the same properties as the head-equivalent tissue. Five handsets with a monopole antenna operating at 835 MHz were placed in the approximate cheek position against the scaled SAM models. The handsets had different antenna lengths, antenna positions, body sizes, and external materials. SAR distributions in the scaled SAM models were computed using the finite-difference time-domain method. We found that a larger head causes a distinct increase in the spatial peak 1-voxel SAR, while head size did not significantly change the peak 1-g averaged-SAR and 10-g averaged-SAR values for the same power level delivered to the antenna.

  • This study investigated the photochromic properties and characterization of acetyl-substituted diarylethene (DAMBTF6)-doped fluoroacrylates media for holographic storage. For the rewritable holographic recording media, we prepared photochromic polymer films using an acrylate matrix by simple photocuring methods. Switching light sources from a visible (532 nm) to an ultraviolet (365 nm) produced transparent films that changed from pale yellow to red. Holographic recording was performed on the photochromic films by two interfering collimated plane wave beams. Excitation with a visible or ultraviolet light completely erased the records, and the film was rewritable either by 532 nm laser or by 325 nm laser within 2 seconds. Images were recorded onto a pixelated spatial light modulator with rectangular pixel apertures and reconstructed on the photochromic films to show recovery of the original images with high resolution.

Facilitating Data Source Movement with Time-Division Access in Content-Centric Networking

  • Wireless communication offers the flexibility to the node movement at the spatial dimension more than the wire communication not only in IP architecture but also in Content-Centric Networking. Although it gives such advantage, the intra-domain movement of a node especially the data source node affects the communication to the access point node which in the end affects the acceptance ratio of the client node that requests the data packets from the data source node. In this paper, we use time-division access method to maintain the acceptance ratio of the client node as the effect of the intra-domain data source node movement in Content-Centric Networking. The simulation result shows that the acceptance ratio of the client node can be maintained using the time-division access method as long as the interval access time is less than the coherence time.

  • 가정에서건 사무실에서건 혹은 이동 중에도 무선 이동 통신, 인터넷, 각종 디지털 기기를 통해 자유롭게 정보를 교환하고 원하는 서비스를 이용할 수 있는 새로운 네트워크 시대가 열리고 있다. 단순한 운송수단이었던 자동차도 무선 통신과 GPS 기술을 바탕으로 차내 이동형 정보서비스를 지원하는 텔레매틱스 서비스를 도입하면서, 도로상에서 다양한 서비스를 이용할 수 있는 환경을 제공하고 있다. 이로 인해 텔레매틱스 서비스를 위한 핵심기술 개발에 대한 수요도 증가하고 있으며, 그 중에서도 사용자 및 차량으로부터의 서비스 요청을 처리하고, 다양한 컨텐츠 제공자 및 서비스 제공자와의 연계를 지원하기 위한 텔레매틱스 서버에 대한 필요성이 증대되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 항법 맵, POI, 실시간 교통정보 등 텔레매틱스 핵심 컨텐츠를 상호 연계하여 이를 사용자에게 효율적으로 서비스하기 위한 텔레매틱스 컨텐츠 서비스 서버를 설계하였다. 이를 통해 향후 텔레매틱스 서비스를 위한 시스템 구축 시 상호운용성과 확장성을 제공함으로써, 국내 텔레매틱스 서비스의 조기 활성화에 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

Improved Channel Level Difference Quantization for Spatial Audio Coding

  • The channel level difference (CLD) is a main parameter in the reference model 0 (RM0) for MPEG Surround. Nevertheless, the CLD quantization method in the RM0 has problems such as the lack of theoretical background and inappropriate quantization levels. In this letter, a new CLD quantization method is proposed based on the virtual source location information which has strength in the quantization process. From experimental results, it is confirmed that the proposed scheme greatly reduces the quantization distortions measured in dB and degrees without any additional complexity.

  • The aim of this study is to evaluate the susceptibility of landslides at Clicap area, Indonesia , using a Geographic Information System (GIS). Landslide locations were identified from field surveys. The topographic and geological map were collected and constructed into a spatial database using GIS. The factors that influence landslide occurrence, such as slope, aspect and curvature of topography, were calculated from the topographic database and lihology and fault was extracted from the geological database. Then landslide susceptibility was analyzed using the landslide-occurrence factors by likelihood methods. The results of the analysis were verified using the landslide location data. The GIS was used to analyze the vast amount of data efficiently . The results can be used to reduce associated hazards, and to plan land use and construction.
