Since the time of Vitruvius, the sciences have impacted on the perspectives for architecture and have had a direct influence on the shaping of built space. In recent years, architects have been looking again at sciences as a source of inspiration in the production of their designs and constructions. There are various ways to look at architecture's relationship to science. It is interesting to see how many of the words of day-to-day architectural speech have been drawn from science, the abundant use of references such as topology, fractals, chaos theory, and so on. The reasons for this may be obvious, insofar as science has become the dominant discourse of our times. The numerous attempts have been made to constitute architectural practice so as to bring it into line with the methods of science. But Alberto Perez-Gomez juxtaposed architectural theory and Husserl's. The Crisis of European Science. In Husserl's 'Crisis', it is modern science itself that is laid open question. Through examining its changing relationships to architectural ideas this paper is intended to describe the problematic relationship between science and architecture, in other words, architecture's as science.
In this work, the static behavior of FGM macro and nano-plates under thermomechanical loading. Equilibrium equations are determined by using virtual work principle and local and non-local theory. The novelty of the current model is using a new displacement field with four variables and a warping function considering the effect of shear. Through this analysis, the considered sandwich FGM macro and nanoplates are a homogeneous core and P-FGM faces, homogeneous faces and an E-FGM core and finally P-FGM faces and an E-FGM core. The analytical solution is obtained by using Navier method. The model is verified with previous published works by other models and very close results are obtained within maximum 1% deviation. The numerical results are performed to present the influence of the various parameters such as, geometric ratios, material index as well as the scale parameters are investigated. The present model can be applicable for sandwich FG plates used in nuclear, aero-space, marine, civil and mechanical applications.
Wireless sensor networks are sensing, computing and communication infrastructures that allow us to monitor, instrument, observe, and respond to phenomena in the harsh environment. Generally, the wireless sensor networks are composed of many deployed sensor nodes that were designed to be very cost-efficient in terms of production cost. For example, UC Berkeley's MICA motes have only 8-bit CPU, 4KB RAM, and 128KB FLASH memory space. Therefore, sensor operating systems that run on the sensor nodes should be able to operate efficiently in terms of the resource management. In this paper, we present a dynamic threads stack management scheme for space-constrained and multi-threaded sensor operating systems. In this scheme, the necessary stack space of each function is measured on compile-time. Then, the information is used to dynamically allocate and release each function's stack space on run-time. It was implemented in Nano-Qplus sensor operating system. Our experimental results show that the proposed scheme outperforms the existing fixed-size stack allocation mechanism.

This study aims to suggest the Deconstruction theory that is changing and developing by being converted into visual from as cultural code which reflects the spirit of the times and art style as well as to analyze the phenomenon of deconstruction expressed in the Fashion photographs. Fashion photographs are historical documents presenting us with the evidence of the ideal body types and culture throughout time. Fashion photographs is direct information about the fashion itself, and at the same time, it transmits various circumstances of the times. Fashion photographs has opened a new aspect called visual communication, when it's seen in new, more profound way, instead of being locked in its visible frame. Photograph is no longer a mere means to preserve documentation or pursue artistic expression. Instead, it's now regarded as a way to pursue visual transmission owing to its cognitive psychology, and this is a remarkable step toward new thing. In this study, the possible visual information function of photograph was explored from diverse aspects, such as the combination of photo and design, its linking to printing technology's mass production function, or the development of its imagery symbolism. This study shows that the nature of deconstruction can be explained as deconstruction of the sexes, deconstruction of the time and space, and deconstruction of the genre.

Adaptive control methods are studied for the Satellite to isolate vibration in spite of the nonlinear system dynamics and parameter uncertainties of disturbance. First, a centralized control scheme is developed based on the particle swarm optimization(PSO) algorithm and feedback theory to automatically tune controller gains. A simulation study of a 3 degree-of-freedom device was conducted to evaluate the performance of the proposed control scheme. Next, since a centralized control scheme is hard to construct model dynamics and not goad at performance when controller and systems environment are easily changed, a decentralized control scheme is presented to avoid these defects of the centralized control scheme from the point of view of production and maintenance. It is based on the adaptive control methodologies to find PID controller parameters. Experiment studies were conducted to apply the adaptive control scheme and evaluate the performance of the proposed control scheme with those of the conventional control schemes.
The management aggravation of forests and the increase in the demand on resorts promote the urban use of forests, and the development of forests-using resorts is becoming an important political issue. Based on this understanding, this paper purports to examine the causes for the failure of the Shinrin Toshi policy (development of living space and resorts) which Japan promoted, and also examined the future direction of the development of forest resorts in Korea. As a result of the study, it was found that the Shinrin Toshi policy of Japan was promoted through the new changes of bubble economy and forest culture theory, and various strategies for the co-existence of human beings and nature were worked out. However, the policy took precedence without concrete plan production, which was found as the direct cause for the failure. The reasons for not having concrete plan production were: the target and the resort lifestyle (who will use it and what life will be developed) were not clear; the subject of the policy was restricted to state forests; and the dependence on civil capital in the promotion of the policy was too big. Therefore, in order to make the Shinrin Toshi policy successful, concrete lifestyle how the forest resort will be used and operated - needs to be set up and resources should be concretized. For this, the concrete demand on the forest resort life and the traditional community property of forest areas will have to be examined.
Contemporary global space economy is so dynamic that any one specific structural force can not explain the whole dynamic processes or trajectories of spatial industrial development. The major purpose of this paper is extending the traditional notion of industrial districts to functioning and development of new industrial districts with relation to the development of high technology industries. Several dynamic forces, which are dominated in new industrial districts in the modern space economy, are incorporated in the formation and dynamic aspects of new industrial districts. Even though key forces governing Marshallian industrial district are localization of small firms, division of labor between firms, constructive cooperation, and industrial atmosphere, Marshall points out a possibility of growing importance of large firms and non-local networks in the districts with changes of external environments. Some of Italian industrial districts can be regarded as Marshallian industrial districts in broader context, but the role of local authorities or institutions and local embeddedness seem to be more important in the Italian industrial districts. More critical implication form the review of Marshallian industrial districts and Italian industrial districts is that the industrial districts are not a static concept but a dynamic one: small firm based industrial districts can be regarded as only a specific feature evolved over time. Dynamic aspects of new industrial districts are resulting from coexistence of contrasting forces governing the functioning and formation of the districts in contemporary global space economy. The contrasting forces governing new industrial districts are coexistence of flexible and mass production systems, local and global networks, local and non-local embeddedness, and small and large firms. Because of these coexistence of contrasting forces, there are various types of new industrial districts. Nine types of industrial districts are identified based on local/non-local networks and intensity of networks in both suppliers and customers linkages. The different types of new industrial districts are described by differences in production systems, embeddedness, governance, cooperation and competition, and institutional factors. Out of nine types of industrial districts, four types - Marshallian; suppliers hub and spoke; customers hub and spoke; and satellite - are regarded as distinctive new industrial districts and four additional types - advanced hub and spoke types (suppliers and customers) and mature satellites (suppliers and customers) - can be evolved from the distinctive types and may be regarded as hybrid types. The last one - pioneering high technology industrial district - can be developed from the advanced hub and spoke types and this type is a most advanced modern industrial district in the era of globalization and high technology. The dynamic aspects of the districts are related with the coexistence of the contrasting forces in the contemporary global space economy. However, the development trajectory is not a natural one and not all the industrial districts can develop to the other hybrid types. Traditionally, localization of industries was developed by historical chances. In the process of high technology industrial development in contemporary global space economy, however, policy and strategies are critical for the formation and evolution of new industrial districts. It needs formation of supportive tissues of institutions for evolution of dyamic pattern of high technology related new industrial districts. Some of the original distinctive types of new industrial districts can not follow the path or trajectory suggested in this paper and may be declined without advancing, if there is no formation of supportive social structure or policy. Provision of information infrastructure and diffusion of an entrepreneurship through the positive supports of local government, public institutions, universities, trade associations and industry associations are important for the evolution of the dynamic new industrial districts. Reduction of sunk costs through the supports for training and retraining of skilled labor, the formation of flexible labor markets, and the establishment of cheap and available telecommunication networks is also regarded as a significant strategies for dynamic progress of new industrial districts in the era of high technology industrial development. In addition, development of intensive international networks in production, technology and information is important policy issue for formation and evolution of the new industrial districts which are related with high technology industrial development.

One of the oldest chestnuts in economic geography is this: Cultural and creative industries strongly gather in large cities and this geographic concentration of economic activities leads to regional development. Of course, depending on the circumstances, such a proposition still holds good. But, under the current paradigm shift to knowledge-based economy, it may be open to question. This study aims to investigate financing and knowledge accumulation in the film industry through an alternative framework for explaining their spatial distributions, "formation mechanism of economic space." From the fact that their production organizations are formed on a project basis, project-based financing structure in the investment stage and knowledge accumulation process in the production stage form both axes of it. Film industry as the most mature industry among the cultural and creative industries does not always concentrate in a certain place (industrial agglomeration) or show metropolis-oriented preference. This allows us to reconsider our long brooding theory.
This study examines the characteristics of Paul Smith's fashion from the viewpoint of Habitus. To this end, on the theory of Bourdieu's Habitus concept and theory of the field, we derive the attributes of fashion and fashion designers and Habitus that appeared in fashion from the viewpoint of Habitus. Based on this, the tendency of Paul Smith's Habitus tendency has been examined and how it is expressed in fashion design and store production has been investigated. The scope of the study is from 1977 to the present, and it covers Paul Smith's menswear and stores. Research methods are literature research and visual data analysis. The results of the study are as follows. The characteristics of Habitus' tendency in Paul Smith are childlike imagination and humor, vigorous curiosity and observation, paranoid collection and memos, and British tradition and craftsmanship. Paul Smith's Habitus propensity reflects the following features in fashion design and store direction. First, a unique mix of wit or list structure, second, respect for uniqueness and discrimination with respect for the local image, and third, the new male image was presented to contribute to the diversification of consumers, and fourth, sensitivity and emotion reflecting his Habitus propensity. It is a friendly space for communication. As a result of analyzing and applying to Paul Smith, it was found that the special Habitus characteristics possessed by designers in fashion are important and impart a great influence.

The Stewart Platform is one example of a motion simulator which generater 6DOF motion in space by six actuators in parallel. The presented control methrol of 6DOF motion simulator is generally classified into two types, one is SISO and the other is MIMO control type. The SISO control can't compensate for external load variation and different dynamic behavior of 6DOF motion, trerefore this type don's control motion precisely. On the other hand, the MIMO control compensates for a interference of 6DOF motion because MIMO controller is designed with 6DOF motion simulator synamics. But MIMO control of motion simulator has a complexity of 6DOF displacement feedback, because in oder to obtain feedback value we must solve the forward kinematics using measurement of cylinder length or design a state estimator, unless measurement of 6DOF displacement is possible. In this paper, a multivariable controller using H .inf. optimal control theory is designed to consider a interference of 6DOF motion and to obtain robust,precise control of system. Also in order to solve the mentioned problem of MIMO control, this paper presents a modified MIMO control model which control 6DOF motion by using feedback of measurement od cylinder length.
