  • A linear permanent-magnet vernier (LPMV) motor has magnets and windings in the short mover, which is very suitable for long stroke applications. This paper proposed a new field oriented control with space vector pulse width modulation for the LPMV motor, which considers loss minimization. First, the topology of the LPMV motor is briefly presented. Then, the mathematical model is derived, and the mover field oriented control strategy is proposed. Also, the loss analysis is performed. Finally, the simulated and experimental results are given, verifying the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.

  • Direct torque control(DTC) is known to produce quick response in ac drives. Some drawbacks of the classical DTC are the relatively large torque ripple in a low speed range and notable current pulsation during steady state. They are reflected speed response and increased acoustical noise. In this paper, The DTC quick response are preserved at transient state, while better qualify steady state performance is produced by Space Vector Modulation(SVM). It is able to reduce the acoustical noise, torque ripple and current pulsation during steady state. The system presented are closed loop stator flux and torque observer for wide speed range that inputs are currents and voltages sensing of motor terminal. Simulation results for the 2.2kw general purposed induction motor are presented and discussed.

  • This paper presents a digital controller for three-phase Boost Converter. Generally, the conventional Space-Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) have complex computation. Thereby, it should be implemented with high performance processor. In order to reduce calculation burden of the conventional SVPWM, digital controller which has a simplified SVPWM algorithm is designed in this study. A proposed digital controller consists of fuzzy pwm controller and prediction controller. In simulations and experiments, the proposed digital controller is validated.

  • This paper presents a new current sharing control strategy for parallel-connected, synchronised three-phase DC-AC converters employing space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) without current sharing reactors. Unlike conventional control methods, the proposed method breaks the paths of the circulating current by dividing the switching cycle evenly between parallel connected equally rated converters. Accordingly, any inter-module reactors or circulating current control will be redundant, leading to reductions in system costs, size, and control algorithm complexity. Each converter in the new scheme employs a synchronous dq current regulator that uses only local information to attain a desired converter current. A stability analysis of the current controller is included together with a simulation of the converter and load current waveforms. Experimental results from a 2.5kVA test rig are included to verify the proposed control method.

  • This study presents an input filter resonance mitigation method for an AC-DC matrix converter. This method combines the advantages of the one-cycle control strategy and the active damping technique. Unnecessary sensors are removed, and system cost is reduced by employing the grid-side input currents as feedback to damp out LC resonance. A model that includes the proposed method and the input filter is established with consideration of the delay caused by the actual controller. A zero-pole map is employed to analyze model stability and to investigate virtual resistor parameter design principles. Based on a double closed-loop control scheme, the one-cycle control strategy does not require any complex modulation index control. Thus, this strategy can be more easily implemented than traditional space vector-based methods. Experimental results demonstrate the veracity of theoretical analysis and the feasibility of the proposed approach.

  • In this paper, The authors design the current controller which independently control the d, q axis current transformed by the synchronously rotating d, q axis and a Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation(SVPWM) to steadily control the output DC-Link voltage against the variable load of the three phase PWM converter. Also, This study improves the high power factor, stability, and rapid response by the phase angle control using the digital Phase Locked Loop(PLL).

  • In this paper, 2 phase modulated SRPP-PWM(Separately Random Pulse Position PWM) is proposed. This PWM technique is based on the 2 phase modulated SVPWM(Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation). In according to the theory of SVPWM, 2 phase modulated SVPWM uses two pulses, not three pulses as in 3 phase modulated SVPWM. In the proposed SRPP-PWM scheme, each of two phase pulses is located randomly in each switching interval. The experimental results show that the voltage and switching noise harmonics are spread to a wide band area. Also, the performance of the proposed 2 phase modulated SRPP-PWM and the conventional SVPWM are compared to each other In result, the speed response is nearly similar to each other from the viewpoint of the v/f constant control.
