  • Free radicals of lysozyme produced by $Ti-H_2O_2$ system were studied in aqueous solution at room temperature using ESR with a continuous flow-mixing. The spectra, each consisting of a doublet with 5.5 G splitting and a broad resonance covering 80 G splitting are closely similar in shape to that for solid irradiated in vacuum at $77^{\circ}K$ and observed at room temperature immediately on warming. The result is assumed to indicate that the secondary protein radical components formed within 0.01 second, dead time of the mixing chamber, and initiated by hydrogen atom abstraction at ${\alpha}$-carbon atom of peptide chain in liquid solution at room temperature are identical to those resulting from the initial formation of a mixture of positive holes and negative ions by ionization processes as well as radical fragments by the rupture of chemical bonds in the solid during similar time at the same temperature. A broad resonance is observed with considerable amplitude on the high field side of the doublet, which is quite dissimilar to the spectra of irradiated solid lysozyme. This resonance was tentatively attributed to the polypeptide free radical in which unpaired electrons are localized on side chain.

알칼리와 열처리에 의한 면직물의 감즙염색 발색효과 (Effect of Color Developing by Alkali and Heating of Cotton Fabrics Dyed with Persimmon Extract)

  • The purpose of this study is to improve the method of color developing with alkali solution as a promotor of color developing for feasible use. Cotton fabric was dyed with persimmon extract ranged with 0~3% alkali component with 5 types of strong to mild alkali solution. Heat treatment for color developing was applied to fabric dyed with persimmon extract and alkali mixing solution. Tests were carried out to analyze the change of surface color, ${\Delta},Ea^*b^*$, and water repellent of the dyed cotton fabric. The alkali mixing sample showed higher ${\Delta},Ea^*b^*$ value than control one without alkali mixing on the base of dyed fabric due to high color developing by alkali in the initial step of dyeing process. As alkali concentration increased, deeper dark color appeared on the fabric. The fabric color was changed to more dark in the application of sodium hydroxide, sodium carbonate, potassium carbonate in the initial step of dyeing process but color was not changed by increased heating time. However, the fabric showed a slight dark color with sodium acetate and more color change than that of the fabric dyed with persimmon extract without alkali. Therefore, sodium acetate seemed to a suitable promotor for color developing in persimmon extract dyeing. Property of water repellent was showed after color developing by heating with low concentration of alkali treatment.

Sustainable self compacting acid and sulphate resistance RAC by two stage mixing approaches

  • In this research article, acid resistance, sulphate resistance and sorptivity of self compacted concrete (SCC) prepared from C&D waste have been discussed. To improve the above properties of self compacted recycled aggregate concrete (SCRAC) along with mechanical and durability properties, different two stage mixing approaches (TSMA and TSMAsfc) were followed. In the proposed two stage mixing approach (TSMAsfc), silica fume, a proportional amount of cement and a proportional amount of water were mixed in premix stage which fills the pores and cracks of recycled aggregate concrete (RAC). The concrete specimen prepared using above mixing approaches were immersed in 1% concentration of sulphuric acid (H2SO4) and magnesium sulphate (MgSO4) solution for 28, 90 and 180 days for evaluating the acid resistance of SCRAC. Experimental results concluded that the proposed two stage mixing approach (TSMAsfc) is most suitable for acid resistance and sulphate resistance in terms of weight loss and strength loss due to the elimination of pores and cracks in the interfacial transition zone (ITZ). In modified two stage mixing approach, the pores and cracks of recycled concrete aggregate (RCA) were filled up and make ITZs of SCRAC stronger. Microstructure analysis was carried out to justify the reason of improvement of ITZs by electron probe micro analyser (EPMA) analysis. X-ray mapping was also done to know the presence of strength contributing elements presents in the concrete sample. It was established that SCRAC with modified mixing approach have shown improved results in terms of acid resistance, sulphate resistance, sorptivity and mechanical properties.

혼합 효율 향상을 위한 마이크로 동적 믹서의 형상최적화 (Shape Optimization of an Active Micro-Mixer for Improving Mixing Efficiency)

  • An active micro-mixer, which was composed of an oscillating micro-stirrer in the microchannel to provide rapid, effective mixing at high flow, rates was analyzed. The effects of molecular diffusion and disturbance by the stirrer were considered with regard to two types of mixer models: the simple straight microchannel and microchannel with an oscillating stirrer. Two types of mixer models were studied by analyzing mixing behaviors such as their interaction after the stirrer. The mixing was calculated by Lattice Boltzmann methods using the D2Q9 model. In this study, the time-averaged mixing index formula was used to estimate the mixing performance of time-dependent flow. The mixing indices of the two models compared. From the results, it was found that the mixer with an oscillating stirrer was much more enhanced and stabilized. Therefore, an optimum design for a dynamic micro-mixer with an oscillating stirrer was performed using Taguchi method in order to obtain a robust solution. The design parameters were established as the frequency, the length and the angle of the stirrer and the optimal values were determined to be 2, 0.8D and ${\pm}75^{\circ}$, respectively. It was found that the mixing index of the optimal design increased 80.72% compared with that of the original design.

에폭시/유기치환된 실리케이트 나노복합체의 기계적 및 열적 성질에 관한 연구 (Mechanical and Thermal Properties of Epoxy/Organically Modified Mica Type Silicate (OMTS) Nanocomposites)

  • 에폭시 (diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A: DGEBA), 경화제 (dicyandiamide; DICY), 촉매 (benzyl dimethyl amine : BDMA), 그리고 유기치환된 실리케이트 (organically modified mica type silicate: OMTS)를 용융법 및 용액법을 이용해 나노복합체를 제조하였고, $170^{\circ}C$에서 시간에 따라 경화 반응을 진행하면서 X선 회절분석기 (XRD)와 소각 X선 산란장치 (SAXS)를 이용하여 구조 변화를 관찰하였다. 용융법으로 제조된 치료의 경우 박리된 구조를 관찰할 수 없었으나 용액법에 의해 제조된 경우 박리된 구조를 관찰할 수 있었다. 이는 OMTS 층 내ㆍ외부의 경화 속도차이 때문인 것으로 생각된다. 박리된 에폭시 나노복합체의 OMTS 첨가량에 따른 기계적 물성을 동적기계적 분석기 (DMA)를 이용해 측정한 결과 OMTS의 첨가량이 증가할수록 모둘러스는 증가하였으나 유리전이온도는 큰 차이가 없었다. OMTS 첨가량에 따른 열적 성질을 열중량분석기(TGA)와 한계산소지수 (LOI)를 이용해 측정한 결과 OMTS양이 증가할수록 OMTS 판의 차단효과로 인해 열분해 시작 온도와 LOI 값이 증가하였다.

혐기성소화 슬러지 비율에 따른 미생물전기분해전지의 식종 특성 (Startup of Microbial Electrolysis Cells with different mixing ratio of Anaerobic Digested Sludge and Buffer solution)

  • 실험실 규모 회분식 미생물전기분해전지 반응기 (유효부피 20 mL)를 이용하여 수소가스 생산 및 식종기간 특성을 조사하였다. 총 6 cycle 동안 0.9 V를 인가하여 식종슬러지 혼합 비율 (혐기성소화 슬러지:50 mM PBS)에 따른 수소생산 및 식종기간을 분석한 결과 혼합비 1:1 반응기에서 9.8-20.9 mL 수소를 생산하였으며, 수소함량은 66.8-79.6%로 가장 높게 나타났다. 식종기간에 있어서는 혼합비 1:1 반응기 기준으로 약 12일 정도부터는 수소생산 및 전류밀도가 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 혼합비 1:2, 1:3, 1:4 반응기의 경우 cycle (2-6 cycle)에 따라 수소가스 생산량이 3.7-7.1 mL, 농도 5.8-65.8%로 변화하였으며, 혼합비 1:5, 1:6, 1:7 반응기의 수소가스 생산량은 0.5-0.7 mL, 농도 1.8-7.1%로 나타나 최대 혼합비 1:4까지 식종하는 것이 적합할 것으로 판단된다.

CNT 혼입 PVA 섬유보강 시멘트 복합체에서의 배합 순서에 따른 영향 (The Effect of the Mixing Order on PVA Fiber-Reinforced Cementitious Composites with CNTs)

  • 이 연구는 다중벽 탄소나노튜브(MWCNTs) 혼입 PVA 섬유보강 시멘트 복합체에서 배합 순서에 따른 영향을 분석하기 위해 배합 순서를 변수로 고려한 실험을 통해 유동성, 압축 및 휨인장 성능을 분석하였다. 실험 결과, CNT 혼입으로 인하여 유동성이 크게 감소하였으며, CNT가 혼입된 경우 배합 순서에 따라 유동성이 크게 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 압축 강도는 물과 CNT 수용액을 미리 섞어 혼입한 후 PVA 섬유를 혼입하는 순서가 가장 강도 증진 효과가 뛰어난 것으로 나타났으며, 휨인장강도는 건비빔 후 물과 CNT 수용액, PVA 섬유를 미리 섞은 후 배합한 방식이 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다. 다만, 휨인장 거동에서 연성도는 배합 순서와의 연관성이 명확하게 나타나지 않았다. 또한, 미세구조에의 영향을 분석하기 위해 주사전자현미경(SEM) 이미지 분석을 수행하였다. SEM 이미지 분석 결과, 모든 시편에서 CNT가 골고루 분산되어 분포하고 있는 것으로 나타나 CNT가 강도 증진 효과에 기여하고 있는 것을 확인할 수 있었으나, 배합방식으로 인한 차이는 명확하게 나타나지 않았다. 이 연구의 주요 결과는 향후 CNT 혼입 PVA 섬유보강 시멘트 복합체의 작업성 및 재료성능 평가 관련 연구에 유용할 것으로 기대된다.

Multistep Quantum Master Equation Theory for Response Functions in Four Wave Mixing Electronic Spectroscopy of Multichromophoric Macromolecules

  • This work provides an alternative derivation of third order response functions in four wave mixing spectroscopy of multichromophoric macromolecular systems considering only single exciton states. For the case of harmonic oscillator bath linearly and diagonally coupled to exciton states, closed form expressions showing all the explicit time dependences are derived. These expressions can provide more solid physical basis for understanding 2-dimensional electronic spectroscopy signals. For more general cases of system-bath coupling, the quantum master equation (QME) approach is employed for the derivation of multistep time evolution equations for Green function-like operators. Solution of these equations is feasible at the level of 2nd order non-Markovian QME, and the new approach can account for inter-exciton coupling, dephasing, relaxation, and non-Markovian effects in a consistent manner.

화학용액혼합과 수소환원법으로 제조된 나노 구조 Fe-Co 합금분말의 미세구조 및 자성 특성 (Microstructure and Magnetic Properties of Nanostructured Fe-Co Alloy Powders Produced by Chemical Solution Mixing and Hydrogen Reduction Methods)

  • The purpose of this study is the fabrication of nano-sized Fe-Co alloy powders with soft magnetic properties by the slurry mixing and hydrogen reduction (SMHR) process. $FeCl_2$0 and $CoCl_2$ powders with 99.9% purities were used for synthesizing nanostructured Fe-Co alloy powder. Nano-sized Fe-Co alloy powders were successfully fabricated using SMHR, which was performed at 50$0^{\circ}C$ for 1 h in H$_2$ atmosphere. The fabricated Fe-Co alloy powders showed $\alpha$' phase (ordered body centered cubic) with the average particle size of 45 nm. The SMHR powder exhibited low coercivity force of 32.5 Oe and saturation magnetization of 214 emu/g.

점토 혼합액의 건조박막 형성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Dry Film Formation of Clay Solution)

  • 본 연구에서는 벤토나이트 혼합액의 유동특성 등을 파악하기 위형 전단속도에 따른 점도의 변화를 측정하였으며, 박막형성에 관한 특성을 파악하기 위하여 혼합비 및 점도에 따른 박막두께를 측정하였다. 또한 건조 후 박막이 박막의 두께에 따른 오염표면에서 분리되는 특성을 조사하였으며 벤토나이트의 흡착성능에 영향을 미치는 비표면적을 측정하기 위하여 BET 방법을 이용하였다. 점도는 혼합비의 증가에 따라 감소하였으며 건조박막의 두께는 혼합비가 증가할수록 두꺼워진다. 건조박막의 분리특성은 혼합비가 5에서 10% 이내로 박막이 40에서 150$\mu\textrm{m}$가 적당하다.
