  • The majority of sensors currently being used for measuring current need to contact with conductor carrying current. Therefore it is not easy to measure and insulate. In order to figure the solution out, the remote power measurement system is introduced in this paper. The system developed here enables us to measure the current of the commercial power without contact by using Rogowski Coil and wireless communication method. Measured current is processed for the wireless transmission, then is transferred to the computer through wireless receiver. The data arrived at the computer is displayed on the screen as waveform.

  • The Euclidean steiner tree problem (ESTP) is to find a minimum-length euclidean interconnection of a set of points in the plane. It is well known that the solution to this problem will be the minimal spanning tree (MST) on some set steiner points, and the ESTP is NP-complete. The ESTP has received a lot of attention in the literature, and heuristic and optimal algorithms have been proposed. In real field, heuristic algorithms for ESTP are popular. A key performance measure of the algorithm for the ESTP is the reduction rate that is achieved by the difference between the objective value of the ESTP and that of the MST without steiner points. In recent survey for ESTP, the best heuristic algorithm showed around $3.14\%$ reduction in the performance measure. We present a evolution programming (EP) for ESTP based upon the Prim algorithm for the MST problem. The computational results show that the EP can generate better results than already known heuristic algorithms.

Measurement Technique of Ozone Density by Using UV Sensor System

  • There are many studies and products using a test paper impregnated with chemical solution can react with ozone. The color of a test paper can indicate the concentration of ozone. The purpose of this research is to design and manufacture a system using ultraviolet light source to measure the ozone density. This new technique is based on the characteristic of decomposition from ozone into oxygen under ultraviolet light. We used two sources of ultraviolet light including UV lamp and UVLED to determine the decomposition of ozone. This system is built with the electronic components, sensors and sealed pump tube to measure the ozone density in units of $g/cm^3$,ppm,ppb. In this paper,, we present some initial results of measuring the ozone density from ozone generator after completing inspection for safety.

μFIA 바이오센서를 이용한 자당 농도 측정 (Measurement of Sucrose Concentration Using a μFIA Biosensor)

  • A microdialysis coupled flow injection amperometric $({\mu}FIA)$ biosensor was calibrated to measure the concentration of sucrose using 11 standard samples from 2 ml to 70 ml of sucrose solution. The output of the sensor increased linearly with an increase in the sucrose concentration with an $r^2$ correlation of 0.99. The amperometric biosensor was then applied to measure the sucrose concentration of 4 commercial samples (Orange and Pineapple juices, Pepsi, Sprite) and the results compared with those by HPLC. Around $20\~30\%$ error was observed in sucrose concentration measurements of the samples analyzed. The sensor has potential in rapid measurement once the calibration is done. Potential for on-line sensing is also discussed.

A Photochromic Dye Activation Method for Measuring the Thickness of Liquid Films

  • To measure the thickness of liquid films from 10 to 60 ${\mu}m$, we used photochromic dye activation. And we used silicone oil with 10 centi-Stokes and commercial photochromic dyes. To make films with exact and known thicknesses, we used two glass wafers. A film formed between two wafers after placing a drop of liquid of known volume on one wafer and covering the other. The film thickness could be estimated from the diameter of wafer and the dropped liquid volume. To quantitatively evaluate the result, captured the images using digital camera then analyzed the images using the image tool. The gray scale intensity using the captured images of activated dye with these thicknesses showed the repeatability below ${\pm}$ 1.0% when measured with a silicone oil solution containing 0.1% SO and SO-ANTH dyes. And we showed that photochromic dye activation method could be used to measure our liquid film thickness ranges.

  • The Banach spaces $m^p(\phi)$ and $n^p(\phi)$ are very important sequence spaces related to $l_p$, which were defined to fill the gaps between $l_p(1{\leq}p{\leq}{\infty})$. In this paper, we investigated the solubility of the infinite system of differential equations in $m^p(\phi)$ and $n^p(\phi)$ by proving related theorems. Moreover, one example has been included for the justification of the claim of this paper.

Development of an evaluation tool model for the effective measurement of cyber motion sickness in immersive virtual reality

  • We are designed to solve cyber motion sickness, an important task that must be addressed for the growth of the virtual reality content industry. Not only the industry but also academia are paying a lot of attention. However, despite long interest and research on the phenomenon of cyber motion sickness, a solution has not been drawn. This is deeply related to the lack of tools that can effectively measure cyber motion sickness. Therefore, in this paper, prior studies on cyber motion sickness were analyzed to develop a tool that can effectively measure cyber motion sickness when users experience immersive virtual reality. The measurement method of cyber motion sickness used in previous studies, each characteristic and limitation, and common factors related to cyber motion sickness were analyzed. Each of the related factors was derived as sub-factors. Based on the analyzed contents, an effective cyber motion sickness measurement evaluation tool model in immersive virtual reality was presented. It is expected that the evaluation tool model can be used for the study of cyber motion sickness.

  • 연구배경 : Filter hybridization이나 solution hybridization 방법들은 Northern blot나 slot blot에 비하여 빠르며 재현성이 높고 소량의 RNA를 측정할 수 있으며 한꺼번에 많은 시료들을 동시에 측정하는것이 가능하다. 방 법 : 저자들은 쥐를 대상으로 하여 SP-C mRNA를 filter hybridization과 solution hybridization 방법들로 각각 정량측정하여 방법론에 따른 분자생물학적 정도관리에 대한 관찰을 하기 위하여 이 연구를 시행하였다. 결 과 : 1) Solution hybridization 방법에 의한 SP-C mRNA의 정량측정을 위한 RNA 검체물의 최소량은 3pg 이상이었다. 2) Solution hybridization에 쓰이는 SP-C sense mRN A input 양과 유전자 cpm과의 Y=6.46 X+244(X=SP-C mRNA 전사체 Y=cpm)였고, 양자간의 상관계수 r은 0.99로 매우 밀접한 상관성을 보였다. 3) Filter hybridization방법에 의한 SP-C mRNA의 정량측정을 위한 RNA검체물의 최소량은 0.1ng 이상이었다. 4) SP-C의 sense 전사체 0, 0.1, 0.5, 1.0, 2.5 및 5 ng에 대한 cpm과의 표준곡선은 Y=2541.6 X+252.7 (X=SP-C mRNA 전사체 Y=CPM) 이고 상관계수 r은 0.99로 매우 밀접한 상관성을 보였다. 결 론 : Solution hybridization 방법은 다른 방법에 비해 RNA input 양을 아주 소량 사용하면서도 주위에 높은 배후 방사성 산란을 보이는 비특이성 DNA가 있음에도 불구하고 특정 시료의 양이 한정되어 있는 상황에서 RNA를 분석 검토하는데 매우 유용한 연구방법이며, 뿐만아니라 filter hybridization 방법은 mRNA를 정량 측정하는데 있어서 신속하고 재현성이 높으며, 한꺼번에 많은 시료들을 시행할 수 있고, 사료의 mRNA를 정량측정 하는데 있어서 유용한 방법임을 알 수 있었다.

The Onset and Duration of Action of 0.2% Lidocaine in a One-per-Mil Tumescent Solution for Hand Surgery

  • Background One-per-mil tumescent solution, which contains 0.2% lidocaine with 1:1,000,000 epinephrine, has been reported to be clinically effective for hand surgery under local anesthesia. However, it was lacking in its basic pharmacokinetics profile in regard to the onset of action (OOA) and duration of action (DOA). Methods A randomized, double-blind study was conducted on 12 volunteers who met the inclusion criteria from October to November 2014. All volunteers had their right and left ring finger pulps injected with either one-per-mil solution or 2% lidocaine. Semmes-Weinstein and two-point discrimination tests were used to test sensation. Visual analogue scale was recorded at the time when the finger lost its sensation and when it regained normal sensation to measure the OOA and DOA. The data were then analyzed with a paired t-test and a Wilcoxon signed-rank test. Results The OOA and DOA of 2% plain lidocaine were 1 minute and 99.67 minutes, respectively. Meanwhile, 0.2% lidocaine in a one-per-mil tumescent solution showed an OOA of 5 minutes and a DOA of 186.83 minutes. The OOA of 0.2% lidocaine in a one-per-mil tumescent solution is statistically shorter than 2% plain lidocaine (P=0.04); while its DOA is statistically longer than 2% plain lidocaine (P<0.001). Conclusions The 0.2% lidocaine in a one-per-mil tumescent solution is statistically and clinically superior to 2% plain lidocaine in achieving longer duration of local anesthesia.

염진해 오손물질의 성분과 전기적 특성 (The Composition and the Electrical Characteristics of Natural and Artificial Contaminants)

  • In this paper, we investigate the electrical characteristics of contaminants on highvoltage insulators. We measure the conductivity of polluted water obtained from bottom surface of insulators with wiping method with wiping method, then calculate the equivalent salt deposit density(ESDD) with specific equation. And, through the analysis, ICP/MS, for contaminants, we can know the amount of specific composition which is contained in the washed solution. Based on the analysis result, we investigated the degree of contribution on the electrical characteristics of contaminant solution. Through this investigation, we got some significant result, such as the relationship between the conductivity and solubility.
