This paper proposes a new two-dimensional warranty policy with replacement and repair regions and analyses the warranty cost under the new warranty policy. The product is sold under a two-dimensional warranty(usage and age) in which two regions exist : the failed product is replaced by the manufacturer in the replacement region or minimally repaired by the manufacturer in the repair region. The formula of the expected warranty cost under some assumptions about usage and failure is obtained. Numerical examples are studied.

The rate of transmittance of the sunglasses sold at home is shown in this paper. Most of the lens treated with sunglasses turned out to be 0% in the range of the UV, but those made by some company to be 18%.

A model for obtaining optimal target value and optimal production quantity of the process is described when the mean quality characteristic decreases according to the increase of production quantity. Two different cases are considered where defective items can be either sold at a reduced unit price or discarded. Some numerical examples are also given.

This paper reports the development of a special impact fatigue test machine for high pressure vessels. The targeted vessels are subjected to shock pressures equivalent of explosions. This severe loading condition brings many difficulties to the design of test machine. Unfortunately, there are very rare such test machine in the world, and more worse, the machine is not opened and sold.

Infant formula is classified into standard cow's milk-based and special formulas. This review aimed at summarizing the types of special milk formulas currently sold in Korea, and the appropriate indications for the use of these formulas; lactose free formula, soy-based formula, protein hydrolysate formula, amino acid-based formula, preterm formula, medium chain triglyceride formula, low-phosphorus formula, protein-energy-enriched formula, and formulas for inborn errors of metabolism.

A 3D solid element mesh generation algorithm was newly developed. 3D surface points of global rectangular coordinates were supplied by a 3D laser scanner. The algorithm is strait forward and simple but it generates hexahedral solid elements. Then, the surface rectangular elements were generated from the solid elements. The key of the algorithm is elimination of unnecessary elements and 3D boundary surface fitting using given 3D surface point data.

Three types of warranty policies are considered. They are (1) free warranty policy for repairable products, (2) free warranty policy for nonrepairable products, and (3) rebate warranty policy. Under each warranty policy, a single sampling attribute plan with non-destructive testing is considered. A sampling plan is characterized by the sample size and the acceptance number. For each case, characteristics of an optimum sampling plan are discussed and determined, which minimize the warranty cost and the corresponding quality control cost within the assigned producer's risk and consumer's risk.

Consider a stuffing process where sausage-casings are filled with sausage-kneading. One of the most important factors in the stuffing process is weights of stuffed sausages. Sausages weighting above the specified limit are sold in a regular market price for a fixed price, and underfilled sausages are reworked at the expense of reprocessing cost. In this paper, the sausage stuffing process is inspected for improving productivity and quality levels. Several statistical process control tools are suggested by using real data obtained from a Korean Vienna sausage company.

The purpose of this study was to analyze marriage cost planning and marriage cost for the children. Data were obtained from 306 households with at least one child married within past 5 years in Seoul. There were significant differences in marriage cost planning. The average marriage cost was 46,410,000won. Earned income finance asset child's sex child's marriage type the length of planning whether debts were incurred or not and whether the property was sold for child's marriage were significantly associated with the marriage cost. Finally socio-economic variable and marriage cost planning variables played more imprtant role in determining child's marriage cost than child related variables.
