  • Energy conversion to renewable energy is being promoted to solve the recently serious environmental pollution problem. Solar energy is one of the promising natural renewable energy sources. Compared to other energy sources, it is receiving great attention because it has less ecological impact and is sustainable. It is important to predict power generation at a future time in order to maximize the output of solar energy and ensure the stability and variability of power. In this paper, solar power generation data and sensor data were used. Using the PCC(Pearson Correlation Coefficient) analysis method, factors with a large correlation with power generation were derived and applied to the GAM(Generalized Additive Model). And the prediction accuracy of the power generation prediction model was judged. It aims to derive efficient solar power generation in the future and improve power generation performance.

  • Recently, renewable energy has been increasing in Korea to reduce greenhouse gas, and solar power generation, which accounts for the largest proportion of renewable energy, is noteworthy. The government policy will further increase solar power generation. In order to implement the policy, it is important to understand the current status of domestic solar power generation facilities. Therefore, the current status of solar power generation facilities in Jinju city close to the south coast and Jeonju city close to the west coast was investigated and compared. By 2020, 618 solar power plants had been installed in Jeonju city and 269 in Jinju city. However, there is not much difference in the amount of solar power generation for business at 9 GWh. The reason is that Jinju city has a lower population density than Jeonju city, so there are enough places to install a large-scale solar power facilities with a large power generation capacity. Monthly solar power generation was the highest in April in both Jeonju city and Jinju city and the lowest in January. In particular, in December, Jinju city showed more solar power generation than Jeonju city because of the large amount of insolation, long sunshine hours, and few clouds.

  • In the existing photovoltaic generation system, the system equipped with the reflecting plate is a method in which solar energy (insolation) is concentrated on the surface of the photovoltaic module. However, the solar energy (insolation) lost by being reflected back through the solar module is not considered. Although a method of increasing the amount of power generated by installing a reflector around the solar modules has been proposed, this affects the power generation degradation caused by the shading of other solar modules. Therefore, in order to improve this problem, in this paper, 1) without affecting the development of photovoltaic module according to the shade, 2) photovoltaic module using a reflector rotating the solar energy (insolation) lost by the solar module Study and suggest how to join again. Therefore, the loss of solar energy (insolation) can be minimized through the method of recycling the solar energy according to the countless reflection angle of the lost solar energy (insolation). As a result, it is possible to increase the amount of power generation of the photovoltaic generation system by maximizing the amount of power generation for the same solar radiation.

  • A study was conducted to analyze data from 1981 to 2020 for understanding the impact of climate on solar energy generation. A significant increase of 104.6 kWhm-2 was observed in the annual cumulative solar radiation over this period. Notably, the distribution of solar radiation shifted, with the solar radiation in Busan rising from the seventh place in 1981 to the second place in 2020 in South Korea. This study also examined the correlation between long-term temperature trends and solar radiation. Areas with the highest solar radiation in 2020, such as Busan, Gwangju, Daegu, and Jinju, exhibited strong positive correlations, suggesting that increased solar radiation contributed to higher temperatures. Conversely, regions like Seosan and Mokpo showed lower temperature increases due to factors such as reduced cloud cover. To evaluate the impact on solar energy production, simulations were conducted using climate data from both years. The results revealed that relying solely on historical data for solar energy predictions could lead to overestimations in some areas, including Seosan or Jinju, and underestimations in others such as Busan. Hence, considering long-term climate variability is vital for accurate solar energy forecasting and ensuring the economic feasibility of solar projects.

  • To solve the problem of conventional fossil energy, utilization of renewable energy is growing rapidly. Solar energy as an energy source is infinite, and a variety of research is being conducted into its utilization. To change solar energy into electrical energy, we need to build a solar power plant. The efficiency of such a plant is strongly influenced by meteorological factors; that is, its efficiency is determined by solar radiation. However, when analyzing observed generation data, it is clear that the generated amount is changed by various factors such as weather, location and plant efficiency. In this paper, we proposed a solar power generation prediction algorithm using geographical factors such as latitude and elevation. Hence, changes in generated amount caused by the installation environment are calculated by curve fitting. Through applying the method to calculate this generation amount, the difference between real generated amount is analyzed.
