As NCW has appeared, the importance of interoperability in modern warfare has been also increased. Korean Defense has constructed and used the Systems Interoperability Test & Evaluation System based on LISI, in order to increase interoperability between Defense Information Systems. However, its evaluating targets are limited to only the information systems, so that it is difficult to apply it to weapon systems. This paper proposes an integrated interoperability assessment framework for korean embedded software of weapon systems based on reviewing the limitations of SITES and the other interoperability assessment models.
This paper outlines opportunities and challenges in the implementation of BPEL based WFMS(WorkFlow Management System) for the MES(Manufacturing Execution Systems) in semiconductor manufacturing. At present, the most MESs in semiconductor wafer fabrication shop have the problems in terms of application software integration, reactivity, and adaptability. When a plant has to produce new product mix, remodel the manufacturing execution process, or replace obsolete equipments, the principal road blocks for responding to new manufacturing environment are the difficulties in porting existing application software to new configurations. In this paper, the issues about WFMS technologies including BPEL standard applied for MES are presented. And then, we introduce the integrated development framework named nanoFlow which is optimized for developing the BPEL based WFMS application for automated manufacturing system. And we describe a WFMS implemented with using nanoFlow framework, review and evaluate the system.

IoT devices frequently require input resources to communicate with various sensors or IoT platforms. IoT device wastes a lot of time as idle time or waiting time to check the data of the input resource and use the input resource. In addition, IoT devices use various input resources. We compares and analyzes input idle time and input waiting time generated from hardware serial input resource, software serial input resource, digital port input resource, and analog port input resource using Arduino widely used as IoT device. In order to design the IoT device framework, it is necessary to understand the characteristics of input resources and to design them to minimize unnecessary input idle time and input waiting time. The analog input wait time has a much larger input wait time than the digital input wait time, so it must be designed to receive analog information periodically at the appropriate timing. The characteristics of the input resources analyzed in this way help to design an efficient IoT device.
This study introduces an overall framework for RFID applications in product lifecycle management(PLM). PLM is a new strategic approach to manage product related information efficiently over the whole product lifecycle. Recently, with emerging technologies such as radio frequency identification(RFID), global positioning system(GPS), and wireless communication, PLM provides a new environment that enables us to gather and analyze product lifecycle information, and make decisions on several issues without spatial and temporal constrains. However, a PLM system just provides us with new opportunities to gain the PLM system, first and foremost, it is necessary to look into its overall framework in the viewpoint of hardware, software, and business model. For this purpose, in this study, first, we introduce the technical framework of the new PLM environment with the concept of extended RFID system, called product embedded information device(PEID). Then, for each lifecycle phase such as beginning of life(BOL), middle of life(MOL), and end of life(EOL), we explore several research problems that become highlighted under the new PLM environment.
The Mobile agent-based distributed systems become obtaining significant popularity as a potential vehicle to allow software components to be executed on heterogeneous environments despite mobility of users and computations. However, as these systems generally force mobile agents to use only common functionalities provided in every execution environment, the agents may not access environment-specific resources. In this paper, we propose a new framework using Aspect Oriented Programming technique to accommodate a variety of static resources as well as dynamic ones whose amount is continually changed at runtime even in the same execution environment. Unlike previous works, this framework divides roles of software developers into three groups to relieve application programmers from the complex and error prone parts of implementing dynamic adaptation and allowing each developer to only concentrate on his own part. Also, the framework enables policy decision makers to apply various adaptation policies to dynamically changing environments for adjusting mobile agents to the change of their resources.

Software copyright are written in text form of documents and stored as files, so it is easy to expose on an illegal copyright. The IOT framework configuration and service environment are also evaluated in software structure and revealed to replication environments. Illegal copyright can be easily created by intelligently modifying the program code in the framework system. This paper deals with similarity comparison to determine the suspicion of illegal copying. In general, original source code should be provided for similarity comparison on both. However, recently, the suspected developer have refused to provide the source code, and comparative evaluation are performed only with executable code. This study dealt with how to analyze the similarity with the execution code and the circuit configuration and interface state of the system without the original source code. In this paper, we propose a method of analyzing the data of the object without source code and verifying the similarity comparison result through evaluation examples.

We address an integrated multimedia framework based on a software agent platform for context-aware multimedia computing. We adopt the FIPA (Foundation for Intelligent Physical Agents) platform which provides agent communications and management mechanisms. In order to express context information, we use MPEG-21 metadata for describing user characteristics and usage environment. We encapsulate such context information as a FIPA message to be delivered between agents. Based on context information, appropriate multimedia content delivery becomes possible. We present our system implementation with a use case scenario and show that our proposed framework is effective for context-aware multimedia computing so that personalization of multimedia consumption can be possible.

Social learning encourages and enables learners with common interests to communicate and share knowledge with others through social networks. However, social learning suffers a barrier on communication among learners with various la nguage and culture background. Aiming to avoid this barrier, this paper proposes a framework of cross-language s ocial learning system which can involve more learners' participation on the web. With this framework, an illustrati ve example of task-oriented collaborative learning paradigm is elaborated. It is expected that our proposed system can stimulate more learners to share the learning resource for deep discussions as well as to promote the knowled ge innovation.
In response to increased security concerns, biometrics is becoming more focused on overcoming or complementing conventional knowledge and possession-based authentication. However, biometric authentication requires special care since the loss of biometric data is irrecoverable. In this paper, we present a biometric authentication framework, where several novel techniques are applied to provide security and privacy. First, a biometric template is saved in a transformed form. This makes it possible for a template to be canceled upon its loss while the original biometric information is not revealed. Second, when a user is registered with a server, a biometric template is stored in a special form, named a 'soft vault'. This technique prevents impersonation attacks even if data in a server is disclosed to an attacker. Finally, a one-time template technique is applied in order to prevent replay attacks against templates transmitted over networks. In addition, the whole scheme keeps decision equivalence with conventional face authentication, and thus it does not decrease biometric recognition performance. As a result, the proposed techniques construct a secure face authentication framework in open networks.

EDISON is a web-based platform that provides easy and convenient use of simulation software on high-performance computers. One of the most important roles of a computational science platform, such as EDISON, is to post-process and represent the simulation results data so that the user can easily understand the data. We interviewed EDISON users and collected requirements for post-processing and represent of simulation results, which included i) flexible data representation, ii) supporting various data representation components, and iii) flexible and easy development of view template. In previous studies, it was difficult to develop or contribute data representation components, and the view templates were not able to be shared or recycled. This causes a problem that makes it difficult to create ecosystems for the representation tool development of numerous simulation software. EDISON-VIEW is a framework for post-processing and representing simulation results produced from the EDISON platform. This paper proposes various methods used in the design and development of the EDISON-VIEW framework to solve the above requirements and problems. We have verified its usefulness by applying it to simulation software in various fields such as material, computational fluid dynamics, computational structural dynamics, and computational chemistry.
