This study analyzed features in contemporary men's collection to provide data for characteristics of kitsch in men's collection. The research method was to see background of the concept of kitsch through the domestic and international publications, the Internet, paper. Five designers' collections that have characteristics of kitsch were selected. The range of collection is from the 2000 S/S to 2011 F/W in Men's collection. The results are as follows: kitsch characteristics could be classified by amusements, inappropriateness, satire. First, exaggerative amusements in men's collection appeared exaggerated form, large size, which is ridiculous at the same time. Infantile amusements represents the image of a pure concentric matching accessories such as toys to the children express. sensual amusements reveals the sexual instincts and desires and people can feel satisfaction through sensual amusements. Second, inappropriateness is characteristic of kitsch to escape from normal life. Clothing does not fit the body and destroyed the design or design of this feature appears. It looks clumsy and strange. Inappropriateness characteristic in men's collection can be divided into inadequate performance and sexual inappropriateness. Third, satire can be divided into resistant satire, imitative satire, and popular satire. Resistance satire with anti-social tendencies through their clothing is achieved by expressing their needs. It was affected by sub-culture like Hippie or Punk. Imitative satire is to imitate other culture, customs and race. It is to resolve complaints through the consumption of things in disparities of wealth and materialism in the society. Popular satire is to express emotions that are free using materials that can recycling like can, bottle or paper.

The purpose of this article is to show that satire through Sugungga is beneficial for the mental health of people. Dong-jin Park is one of the greatest singers of Han Ak (Korean music, 韓樂). He is an authentic singing master through long-term training, which explains why his cheerful voice will certainly allow us to become unburdened. The story of Pansori Sugungga is akin to that of David and Goliath, the art of battling giants but a Korean version. Satire is a technique found in Pansori, Korean epic songs which use humor as a cover for more serious social criticism. Koreans have believed that outbursts of sentiment through satire are good for their mental health. For a long time, these singers have entertained Koreans with political satire and indirect counter-drives. Pansori Sugungga's keen wit and satire have earned the love of Koreans. Koreans want vivid descriptions and surprising turns that end with catharsis through Sugungga and are therefore thrilled with Sugungga. Therefore, Sugungga in Han Ak (Korean music, 韓樂) is a good means of music therapy for better mental health.

The aim of this study was to gain an understanding of the element playfulness in fashion photographs related to openness and multiple significance in contemporary art. A total of 105 fashion photographs from US and UK Vogue magazine editorials and advertisements for the last five years were selected for the study. The photographs were analyzed in two main categories - the contextual element of themes, and the elements of visual expression; composition, models, objects and editing technology. The element of playfulness in the photographs were found to be divided into themes of infantile fantasy, social satire and situational dissonance, and elements of visual expression were found to express image distortion, expansion, exaggeration, reduction, and optical illusions. A photography type termed as infantile fantasy and social satire have descriptive characteristics and usually deliver the message by using models and objects to present a certain situation or express social satirical viewpoint and reflective attitude by using objects and photographic skills. A photography type termed as situational dissonance is characterized by immediately understood expressions and usually clarify the message by using a photographic technology such as editing the printed image or expect the model to express an exaggerated poses and ridiculous expressions, causing an optical illusion. Visually expressed and composed scene using composition, models, objects and editing technology is a specific character of photograph and due to the advances in computer editing technology it has been able to express the various playfulness.

The aim of this study is to examine how satires in the English movie, are translated into Korean. Satire is a literary technique in which the writer expresses sarcasm or criticism by using humor or irony. As satire induces laughter by criticising someone or something in the form of humor, it is not easy to convey the same effect to audiences with different social, cultural and political backgrounds. Naturally, satire translation poses great challenge to translators. This study analyzed satirical humors in , based on 4 basic strategies discussed commonly in the previous studies on humor translation, which found out Source Text(ST) preservation prevails, that is to say literal translation. This analysis result is expected to be worth in drawing an effective strategy for satire translation in the convergence perspective of society, culture or politics in other countries.

In 1920s, Russian society was unstable and tremendous. After the 1917 Revolution, Russian government had initiated "New Economic Policy" embedded in a partial market system in these times. Also, Russian culture had been exposed to a new trend of culture, for instance, Russian Modernism. In the field of Russian literature, satirical comedy became very popular. One of famous satirical comedy writers was V. Mayakovsky who was trying to express his ideal society which consisted of both tensions and harmonies between the old and the new periods. In this context, V. Mayakovsky was recognized as a poet with futurism who loved to write a comedy expressing social suburbanity and governmental bureaucracy. His two comedies, "Bug" and "Bath" were his famous comedies, dealing with Russian modernistic historics and theatricality in 1920s. In this article, authors try to look into their artistic characteristics of 1920s Russian literature involving a new trend of social change, for instance, Grotesque and Tragicomic features. In the same context, this article focused on its inner dilemma of satirical comedy which had been existed in 1920s Russian literature.

Centered on Kathleen Kye, a designer who conveyed messages on social issues through her dresses, and established her own identity, this study aimed to examine what theme, method of expression and inner meaning her 'statement' had, as a way of expressing a critical awareness. After reviewing discussions by Duggan G. G. as well as dictionary definitions, statement fashion design can be defined as a work or fashion shows containing a message of a designer who is free from a particular trend or consumerism in various social issues. Statement fashion designers give opposing messages on social issues through their fashion collections. As a result, research shows that contemporary statement fashion designers are expressing themes of a fashion systems, fetishism, body image, collision, environment, as well as the socially disadvantaged by appropriation, reuse, slogan, metaphorical pattern and performance. Satire, awakening, challenge and support can be derived from the inner meaning of contemporary statement fashion design. In terms of the theme, method of expression and inner meaning, this study showed that KYE collection of the designer Kathleen Kye expresses critical awareness on the modern society. Research findings reveal that KYE collection include the following themes: long-term youth unemployment, conflict collision in war or on the Internet, fetishism by youth in a get-rich-quick fever, environmental issue causing destruction of an ecosystem by decrease in bee population, school violence and the socially disadvantaged related to alienated immigrants. Also, as a method of expression themes, such as metaphorical patterns, were used. The patterns used images including a skeleton, gun, heart, rope, plaster, homeless box, bee, honeycomb, chain and a slot machine. On the other hand, the inner meaning of statement in KYE collection showed satire on social issues, awakening on social issues unrecognized by the masses, and support for the socially disadvantaged.

This paper examines the types and characteristics of cartoon and animation characters in contemporary fashion in order to provide the basic data necessary for the development and use of fashion character designs that develop creative designs and culturally high values. This study examined the relevant literature, reviewed local publications, foreign fashion magazines, and Internet data from 2000 to 2009. In this way, it analyzed various visual images that reflect cartoon and animation characters in case studies. This paper found some expression types, which are the direct expression of characters through print or collage, the borrowing of character images, the use of cartoon expression techniques, and the use of characters for the composition of clothing forms. Those expression types had some similar characteristics. The first is the expression of a kidult-like entertainment that reflected the inner psychology of adults trying to escape from a complicated modem society and returning to their childhood. The second is the expression of satire. Cartoon and animation characters were used as a medium for pointing out social irregularities and evil deeds that taught the lesson of good triumphing over the evil in fashion; they expressed the satire of the modem society and delivered a message of purity and hope. The third is the use of a decorative factor. Each character was printed in primary colors or expressed in colorful beads, and serial cartoon scenes were printed on clothes and used to make a decorative effect of fashion designs.

The purpose of this study is to expand satirical expressions that appear in a wide range of arts into fashion and to analyse and present satirical expressions that appear in contemporary fashion through the collections of Thom Browne. Theoretical examination of satirical concepts were made of domestic and foreign academic theses, dissertations, precious studies, and publications related to satire. Analysis was conducted on cases in which satirical expressions were applied in literature, painting, sculpture, and fashion. Based on these studies, analysis was conducted on satirical expressions appearing in Thom Browne's work. Material was gathered from collection reviews, interview articles, professional books, and internet photo material from professional fashion magazines encompassing 16 years of Thom Browne's collections officially recorded in the international fashion magazine 'Vogue', ranging from the 2006 S/S collection to the 2021 S/S collection. From this, a total of 1,753 photos were collected as data. Characteristics of satirical expression were analyzed and the results were as follows. A fluid reconstruction of 'gender fluid', dual meanings of metaphorical allegories, playful expressions of visual wit, constructions made of overlapped disassembled material, and borrowing of morphological distortion were all identified. Accordingly, satirical approaches as social aspects and objects in the flow of modern thought appear as positive forms based in humor that hope to be improved. This study anticipate the concept of satire will expand into a positive form as a new direction of fashion.

Digital game is an entertainment content as well as a cultural content so that digital game can deliver social messages to make people confront with current problems. Based on Gonzalo Frasca's expanded model theory, this study aims to analyze independent games parodying reality on the level of the narrative and the gameplay to demonstrate that digital game can be a powerful medium to represent a satire on society. Parody games describe irrational side of society as being comical and provoke players' repetitive gameplay. Therefore, players can experience serious theme through casual play in the first-person, and realize the tragic reality directly.
