  • This study suggested a theoretical research system on the effects of the corporate social responsibility in family restaurants upon corporate image, corporate preference and revisit intention. Based on total 342 university students from the empirical research, this study confirmed the reliability and fitness of research model and verified total 4 hypotheses with structural equation modeling(SEM) by Amos program. SEM results showed that the corporate social responsibility of family restaurants had positively significant influence on corporate image(legal and economic aspect 0.203-p<0.05; philanthropy aspect 0.318-p<0.001; ethical aspect 0.203-p<0.05), and corporate image had positively significant influence on corporate preference(0.979-p<0.001) and revisit intention(0.258-p<0.05) as well. Also, corporate preference had positively significant influence on revisit intention(0.844-p<0.001). The findings of this study verified a hypothetical ground that the corporate social responsibility of family restaurants has positive effects upon revisit intention. Additionally, regarding the activity of social responsibility in the foodservice industry, it is proved that the practices in the activities of philanthropy and contribution to society rather than the practices in the legal and economic aspect had significant relations with the customer's favorable behaviors.

  • In a group of 353 elementary students, the present study examined the moderation effects of prosocial behaviors and social competence in the relations between overt/relational aggression and peer status (social preference and perceived popularity). The results indicate that both overt aggression and relational aggression lowered social preference regardless of gender. Prosocial behaviors and social competence did not buffer the negative influence of aggression on social preference. Among boys, overt aggression was a significant predictor of increased perceived popularity. Although inconsistent, relational aggression also predicted boys' perceived popularity. However, among girls, relational aggression, not overt aggression, was associated with perceived popularity. The moderation effects of prosocial behaviors and social competence were significant only among boys. In other words, boys' aggression, although it lowers social preference, contributes to their social influence and dominance when it is effectively combined with positive characteristics. It is necessary to develop new intervention strategies which reflect the adaptive function of aggression within peer groups.

  • The purpose of this study is to draw up the promoting plan of science preference by survey and analysis of the preference for science of the elementary students. The preference for science is defined theoretically with three categories ; they are emotional response, behavioral response and value establishment. Causal factors of the science preference were composed of individual factor, educational factor and social factor. According to this theoretical model, a questionnaire was developed, and administered to 696 students of 4,5,6 grade of randomly selected eight elementary schools all over the nation. Elementary students liked science, but they didn't want to select their future job in science-technology area. The science preference of boys was higher than that of girls. The science preference of 4th grade students was higher than that of 5th and 6th grade students. Individual factor affected the curiosity. learning interest, subject accomplishment on the science and course selection in life. Educational factor not only directly affected the curiosity. learning interest, value establishment and belief of the science but also indirectly affected the individual factor and social factor. Therefore, educational factor was the most important on the science preference. Social factor only affected the value establishment and belief on the science. Elementary students wanted to team science through experiment and they wanted science to be easier than that of now. On the analysis of result, the promoting plan of the science preference was suggested.

  • Purpose - This study aims to suggest strategies for Korean enterprises advancing into the Vietnam bakery market by analyzing the effects of perceived values on brand preference and purchase intention among Korean and Vietnamese consumers. Research design, data, and methodology - The perceived value model designed includes functional (price, quality), emotional, and social values. The survey collected data from 500 consumers in Seoul (Korea) and HoChiMinh (Vietnam). The SPSS 18.0 package was used for analysis. Results - First, among Vietnamese consumers, perceived value had a positive (+) effect on global brand preference in the order of functional value of quality, social value, and the functional value of price. However, from an ethnocentric trend and brand image origin, emotional value had a negative effect on global brand preference. In contrast, among Korean consumers, perceived value had a positive (+) effect on global brand preference in the order of functional value of quality, the functional value of price, and the social value. However, emotional value had no effect on global brand preference. Second, for both Korean and Vietnamese consumers, perceived value had a significant positive effect on purchase intention. Third, unlike the Korean consumer, for the Vietnamese consumer, global brand preference had a significant effect on purchase intention. Conclusions - The study implies the following. First, the Vietnamese bakery market has a high proportion of middle-aged customers in their 40s (64%). In terms of monthly income, there was a large proportion (40%) of high-income earners (over $325). Therefore, bakery consumption can be seen as concentrated among middle-aged and high-income consumers. Based on this, bakery strategies should include efforts to increase purchase prices as well as ways to attract local consumers (large cities). Second, unlike Korean consumers, among Vietnamese consumers, the resistance to a global brand based on emotional value (the ethnocentric tendency and brand image origin) can be seen as relatively low. Thus, in the case of the Vietnam bakery market, to increase a global brand's preference, the company should develop a differentiated strategy so that Vietnamese consumers can recognize it better, focusing on product quality, good service quality, and price in the local environment and on social value for social development. Third, in the case of the Vietnamese customer, we found that social value exerts the greatest influence on purchase intention. Therefore, a brand that engenders an image of building the local Vietnamese community can achieve a higher social value and influence purchase intention. In addition, although Vietnamese consumers have ethnocentric tendencies in terms of products, we found that if it is a preferred global brand then there are intentions to purchase. Fourth, in the case of Vietnam, if the preference for global brands is formed, consumer awareness may be connected to purchase intention. Therefore, global brands operating in Vietnam should pay attention to how to improve consumer preferences for global brands in order to increase purchase intention.

  • The purpose of this research is to identify factors affecting consumer's brand preference toward environment-friendly products like electric vehicles in Bangkok, Thailand. The researcher conducted the study based on a quantitative approach and adapted a nonprobability sampling as a convenience sampling method. The data were collected from 400 respondents living in Bangkok, who are 18 years old and above, with significant knowledge of electric vehicles. This study adapted the Structural Equation Model (SEM) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) to examine the model accuracy, reliability and verification influence of various variables. The results revealed that social influence has significant effect on environment concern as well as a positive effect on attitude. The initial significance of environment concern leads to a positive effect on fuel efficiency, followed by brand preference. Lastly, attitude has a significant effect on brand preference as attitude of consumers toward environment-friendly products affects the encouragement of brand preference, which largely depends on individual opinion. From an environmental concern, the researchers identified fuel efficiency and attitude having a positive and significant effect on brand preference toward environment-friendly products for electric vehicles. The authors also found that environmental concern and social influences on green purchasing behavior were significantly interrelated.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between children's perceptions of interpersonal relations (parents, family, and peers) and those of self, and to examine how the perceptions are related ot problem-solving and social preference. The subjects of this study were 625 children of 5th and 6th grade in 4 primary schools in Taejon City. Results showed positive correlations among four measures of social perceptions (to parents, to family, to peer, and to self). Therefore we have found generalization among children's representations across four interpersonal domains-that is, parents, family, self, and peer. Children's problem solving-behaviors were most significantly related with parents/family domains among interpersonal relationships. In the case of boys, direct path between the perceptions of parents/family and problem solving-behavior was significant, whereas girls' perception of parent/family was associated with problem solving-behavior both directly and indirectly, through girls' perceptions of self and peer. Social preference was highly correlated with perceptions of peer and of father. This study has found that both boys' and girls' peer representations were established for the role as mediators between parents/family representations and peer ratings of social preference. These findings revealed that the impact of family representations on peer rejection was mediated by children's beliefs about their peers.

  • As various pieces of information can be provided through the web, schemes that provide search results optimized for individual users are required in consideration of user preference. Since the existing social search schemes use users' profiles, the accuracy of the search deteriorates. They also decrease the reliability of a search result because they do not consider a search time. Therefore, a new social search scheme that considers temporal information as well as popularities and user preferences is required. In this paper, we propose a new mobile social search scheme considering popularities and user preferences based on temporal information. Popularity is calculated by collecting the visiting records of users, while user preference is generated by the actual visiting information among the search results. In order to extract meaningful information from the search target objects that have multiple attributes, a skyline processing method is used, and rank is given to the search results by combining the user preference and the popularity with the skyline processing result. To show the superiority of the proposed scheme, we conduct performance evaluations of the existing scheme and the proposed scheme.
