This study investigated university students' perspectives on good class and instructional practices through social network analysis. The subjects were 321 students in the third and fourth academic years in a Korean university. The subjects completed four open-ended questions, asking about experience of good class, good instructors' teaching practice, and their feelings and attitudes when participating in good class. As social network analysis, KrKwic (Korea Key Words in Context) was used to compute word frequencies and analyze semantic network structures and Ucinet Netdraw to assess centrality in the social network, consisting of degree centrality, closeness centrality, and between centrality. The results are as follows. First, students showed 5 keywords to depict what good class is, including 'understanding', 'example', 'video', 'interest', and 'communication'. Second, the characteristics of teaching methods by professors who practice good class indicate 'assignments', 'questions', 'understanding', 'example', and 'feedback'. Third, the top 5 keywords of students' attitudes as participating in good class are 'active', 'participation', 'focus', 'listening', and 'asking'. Last, keywords depicting desirable class that students most wanted to take next time are 'assignments', 'rewards', 'understanding', 'difficulty', and 'interest'. The findings from this study include the meanings of the semantic network structures of words in the text making up messages. Also this study can provide empirical evidence for educators and educational practitioners in higher education to create effective learning environments.

This study aims to examine the effect of environmental performance and good corporate governance (GCG) on the firm values mediated by corporate social responsibility (CSR). The sample in this study was obtained using a purposive sampling method and collected from 205 companies. The analytical method used is moderating regression analysis. The results of this study indicate, first, that corporate social responsibility affects the value of the company. The results of this study indicate that the better corporate governance will increase the value of the firm and vice versa. Second, corporate social responsibility has a direct effect on the firm value, but the effect is still smaller when compared with the internal mechanisms of good corporate governance. This study also found that corporate social responsibility cannot mediate the effect of good corporate governance on firm value. Third, the company's environmental performance influences the company's value. Finally, the effect of environmental performance on company value will be better if mediated by corporate social responsibility. This result shows that environmental performance is a proof that the company's environmental and social concern, which is manifested in corporate social responsibility, will be responded positively by the market so that it will increase share prices (firm value).

Methods: This study used the data from Gyeongsangnam-Do health survey (2008). The study subjects were 6,500 adults randomly sampled from 20 counties. Trained interviewers conducted the interviews in the interviewees' houses using structured questionnaires. The association of social capital with self-rated health was analyzed using hierarchical logistic regression. Results: The proportion of trust and social participation were the highest at eup region and the lowest at myeon, The significant social capital associated with self-rated good health were both social participation and trust in the subgroups of dong. The significant social capital associated with self-rated good health were social participation and trust in the subgroups of eup. The significant social capital associated with self-rated good health was trust in the subgroups of myeon. Conclusions: This study highlights that self-rated good health was associated with social capital measured by social participation and trust, and the direction is different in the administrative section. But, health policy encouraging social capital to improve health should be considered.

The objective of this study is to examine the direct and indirect influences of government's role, organizational commitment, and media exposure on the corporate social and environmental responsibility disclosure (CSERD) of 42 Indonesian state-owned enterprises (SOEs) with good corporate governance as the mediator. This study uses a quantitative approach with path analysis to test the hypothesis. The sample in this study was directors of 42 state-owned enterprises in Indonesia. The data was collected using a questionnaire with items assessed on a five-point Likert scale. This study finds that 1) the government's role, organizational commitment, and media exposure have direct influences on good corporate governance and corporate social responsibility disclosure; 2) the government's role and organizational commitment have significant influences on corporate social and environmental responsibility disclosure with the mediation of good corporate governance, indicating that government's role and the organizational commitment are factors affecting Indonesian state-owned enterprises; and 3) the media exposure through good corporate governance mediation does not have a significant effect on corporate social and environmental responsibility disclosure. This means that media exposure is only one of the tools for CSERD, while SOEs have no obligation to disclose CSER through website or printed media.
Background: Social support contributes directly and indirectly to maintaining physical, mental, and social well-being. The aim of the study was to identify the impact of social support on self-rated health among Korean industrial accident workers. Methods: This study used data from the panel study of workers' compensation insurance (PSWCI). The final subjects were 2,759 workers who responded to a 2018 to 2020 PSWCI. Social support was defined as social contact with friends, neighbors, family, and social participation activities like religious activity, social activity, and club activity. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed to investigate causal relationships between social support and self-rated health using a generalized estimating equation model. Results: Proportion of workers' good self-rated health steadily increased (2018: n=1,447, 63.2%; 2019: n=1,542, 66.2%; 2020: n=1,653, 67.3%). Higher levels of social contacts with friend (worse: reference; same: β=0.442) and higher levels of social activity (yes: reference; no: β=-0.173) were especially associated with good self-rated health. Conclusion: This study confirmed social support positively influenced self-rated health among the self-rated health of industrial injured workers. The results of this study suggested that recovery policies that the government served should include programs enhancing social support for improving health among industrial injured workers.

Second, preschoolers' emotionality exerted negative effects on good peer play behaviors and positive effects on the bad peer play behaviors and both were partially mediated by mothers' social interaction parenting behaviors. Preschoolers' activity exerted positive effects on good peer play behaviors and negative effects on the bad peer play behaviors and both were partially mediated by mothers' social interaction parenting behaviors. Conclusion/Implications: These findings provide preliminary evidence that mothers' social interaction parenting behavior partially mediate the effects of preschoolers' temperament on peer play behaviors. Background: Little attention has been paid to the relationship between perceived discrimination and self-rated health (SRH) among foreign workers in Korea. Transnational ties with the home country are known to be critical among immigrants, as they allow the maintenance of social networks and support. Nonetheless, as far as we know, no studies have examined the impact of transnational ties on SRH itself and the relationship between perceived discrimination and SRH, which the current study tries to examine. Methods: Logistic regression analyses were conducted using the 2013 Survey on Living Conditions of Foreign Workers in Korea. Adult foreign workers from different Asian countries (n = 1,370) participated in this study. The dependent variable was good SRH and the independent variable was perceived discrimination. Transnational ties with the home country, as a moderating variable, was categorized into broad (i.e., contacting family members in the home country) vs. narrow types (i.e., visiting the home country). Results: Foreign workers who perceived discrimination had a lower rate of good SRH than those who did not perceive discrimination. Broad social transnational ties moderated the relationship between perceived discrimination and SRH; narrow social transnational ties did not. Conclusions: In line with previous studies, an association was found between perceived discrimination and SRH. Broad social transnational ties can be a good source of social support and buffer against the distress of perceived discrimination.
