깻잎장아찌 제조과정 중의 잔류농약 제거 효과 연구 (Removal Efficiency of Residual Pesticides During Processing of Perilla Jangachi preparation)

  • This study was performed to study the removal efficiency of residual organophosphorus pesticides with process for making Perilla Jangachi. Two organophosphorus pesticides(chlorpyrifos-methyl and fenitrothion) were artificially attached to Perilla leaves. Then Perilla leaves were washed with detergent solution for 1minute and rinsed 2 times each for 1 minutes. After washing with neutral detergent solution, Perilla Jangachi was made with 2 steps of optimal condition. As a pretreatment, when soaked with 2% salt concentration solution for 42hours, the removal rate of residual pesticides was 81.75% of chlorpyrifos-methyl and 76.82% of fenitrothion. When Perilla leaves were steamed for 72 seconds after soaking, it became 88.94% and 82.19%, respectively. Finally, after making optimal Perilla Jangachi with 27% onion contents, removal rate was 89.12% of chlorpyrifos-methyl and 82.76% of fenitrothion. Consequently, it appeared that the process for making Perilla Jangachi effectively removed the residual pesticides of Perilla leaves.

Efficacy of Aqueous Chlorine Dioxide and Citric Acid in Reducing Escherichia coli on the Radish Seeds Used for Sprout Production

  • The efficacy of citric acid-aqueous chlorine dioxide ($ClO_2$) treatment of radish seeds artificially contaminated with Escherichia coli was studied. Radish seeds were inoculated with E. coli. Following inoculation, samples were stored at $4^{\circ}C$ and soaked in citric acid or aqueous $ClO_2$ for 10 min. The treatment of radish seeds using 200 ppm aqueous $ClO_2$ solution caused a 1.5 log CFU/g reduction in the population of E. coli. Compared to the aqueous $ClO_2$ treatment, soaking radish seeds in 2.0% citric acid solution for 10 min was more effective in reducing E. coli populations on radish seeds. The efficacy of spray application of chlorine (100 ppm) or 0.5% citric acid to eliminate E. coli during the germination and growth of radish was investigated. Radish seed inoculated with E. coli was treated for the duration of the growth period. Although it resulted in a decrease in the E. coli population, the spray application of 100 ppm chlorine during the growth period was not significantly effective. In contrast, the combined treatment of seeds using 200 ppm aqueous $ClO_2$ and treatment of sprouts with 0.5% citric acid solution during sprout growth was hardly effective in eliminating E. coli.

고함수율 수침고목재의 동결 건조를 위한 PEG 전처리 농도 및 용매 설정 (Determination of PEG Concentration and Solvent Selection for Freeze-Drying of Highly-Degraded Waterlogged Woods)

  • 아주 많이 분해된 고함수율 수침고목재(평택 토탄층 출토 물푸레나무, 약 5,700 BP)의 동결 건조를 위한 PEG (#3350) 전처리 조건을 규명하고자, PEG 농도와 용매 종류에 따른 치수 안전성을 비교하였다. 함침 처리 중 시간별로 조사한 중량 변화율을 보았을 때, 물과 t-부탄올 용매 모두 저농도에서는 PEG가 짧은 시간내에 침투, 확산하며 고농도에서는 저농도에서 보다 중량이 완만히 증가하여 함침 시간이 길게 요구되었다. t-부탄올 용매가 물보다 PEG 침투량을 향상시켰다. 그러나 동결 건조후 치수 안정성은 저농도 PEG 수용액으로 전처리하는 것이 우수하였다. 고농도 (60%-70%) PEG 처리 (t-부탄올 용매)의 경우는 치수안정성이 떨어졌는데 이는 고농도에서는 PEG가 동결이 완전히 이루어지지 않을 뿐만 아니라 과잉 침투된 PEG가 건조후 수분을 다시 흡수하였기 때문으로 생각된다. 고농도 (70%) PEG 수용액 처리 후 자연건조한 것은 함몰이 발생하였다. 이상의 결과, 아주 많이 분해된 고함수율 수침고목재의 경우는 t-부탄올 용매가 필요 없이 저농도 PEG 수용액 (40%정도)으로 전처리하는 것이 동결 건조에 가장 적합한 것으로 밝혀졌다.

데치기 및 초고압 처리를 이용한 항균처리 마늘 및 생강의 살균 효과 연구 (Pretreatment sterilization of garlic and ginger using antimicrobial agents and blanching)

  • 마늘과 생강 내 자체 항균 성분인 알리신과 진저론, 쇼가올에 의해 분쇄한 다진 상태의 경우 자생 총세균이 $10^1CFU/g$ 감균되는 살균 효과를 나타내었다. 1% (w/w) 농도의 시트르산, 산화칼슘과 200 ppm 차아염소산나트륨 용액에 각각 1시간 침지한 통마늘과 통생강에서 $10^1CFU/g$ 내외의 총세균수 감소를 가져와 90%의 살균율을 보였다. 또한 분쇄한 다진 마늘을 1% (w/w) 시트르산, 산화칼슘 용액에서 각각 1시간 침지한 결과 $10^1CFU/g$$10^4CFU/g$ 내외의 총세균수 살균 효과의 증가를 가져왔으며 다진 생강에서도 산화칼슘 용액 침지시 다진 마늘과 유사한 항균력의 현저한 상승 효과를 보였다. $90-95^{\circ}C$, 30-40초 데치기를 실시한 결과 항균제 용액 침지에 의한 항균 효과 보다는 가열에 의한 살균 효과가 크게 나타나 통마늘과 통생강에서 총세균은 $10^3-10^4CFU/g$, 진균류는 $10^1-10^2CFU/g$ 내외 감균 되었다. 통마늘에 비해 총세균과 진균이 30-70% 많이 자생하고 있는 통생강에 대한 살균 효과를 높이기 위해 차아염소산나트륨 침지 후 데치기를 병합 적용한 결과 총세균과 내열성을 보유한 바실루스 세균에 대하여$10^1CFU/g$ 내외의 감균 효과가 증가하였다. 이상의 연구를 통해 항균제와 데치기를 이용한 마늘, 생강의 감균법이 향신 채소를 사용한 다양한 가공식품의 가열살균 강도를 저감화시켜 품질 향상을 도모할 수 있는 효과적인 전처리 방법으로 활용 가능함을 알 수 있었다.

벼 기계이앙 어린모 맷트형성 촉진을 위한 Metalaxyl 종자침종 효과 (Effect of Metalaxyl Seed-soaking Treatment on Root-mat Formation of Infant Rice Seedling in Machine Transplanting)

  • 벼 기계이앙을 위한 어린모 육묘에서 종자 소독시 Metalaxy과 살충제를 혼합하여 소독ㆍ침종할 때 묘생육, 맺트형성, 입길병 및 뜸묘 발생에 미치는 효과를 조사하였던 바 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. Metalaxyl(25% 수화제, 1,000배석)+Prochloraz 종자침종처리는 무처리 (Prochloraz)에 비하여 근수가 많고 근장이 현저히 길어져서 어린모의 맷트형성이 아주 양호하였다. 2. Metalaxyl 종자침종처리는 어린모의 근활력을 높여서 뿌리생장을 왕성하게 하고 지상부의 생리적 활력을 증대시키므로서 입길병과 뜸묘의 발생을 방지하였다. 3. 종자소독제인 Prochloraz와 Metalaxyl 및 살충제를 혼합하여 종자를 소독ㆍ침종하더라도 어린모의 맷트형성이 촉진되었고 입묘병과 뜸묘 발생을 방지하였으며, 묘생육도 양호하였다 4. Metalaxyl 종자침종처리는 무처리에 비하여 뿌리생장을 현저히 촉진시키므로서 어린모맷트의 경도(2.5배)와 장력(1.5배)이 크게 증가되었다.

Glycidyltrimethylammonium chloride(GTAC)와 Ag 나노입자 가 코팅된 나일론의 항균성 및 특성변화 (Antimicrobial Properties and Characteristic Changes of Nylon Treated with Glycidyltrimethylammonium chloride(GTAC) and Silver nanoparticles(AgNPs))

  • This study deals with antibacterial properties of nylon fiber treated with glycidyltrimethylammonium chloride(GTAC) and silver nanoparticles(AgNPs). Nylon fibers were soaked into GTAC(2-30%, v:v) solution for 20 min. After sample was pre-drying at $80^{\circ}C$ for 10min and cured at $180^{\circ}C$ for 5min. The AgNPs coating was accomplished by soaking in silver colloid solution at $45^{\circ}C$ for 90min. The coated nylon fibers were characterized by scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive spectroscopy(SEM-EDS). EDS analysis indicated that AgNPs and GTAC was attached on nylon fibers. The treated nylon fibers showed antimicrobial properties against Escherichia coli(ATCC 43895), Pseudomonas aeruginosa(ATCC 13388) and Staphylococcus aureus(ATCCBAA-1707).

출수시일과 조효소 처리 조건에 따른 쌀가루의 특성 (Effects of Different Harvest Time and Enzyme on Rice Flour)

  • 출수시일별에 따른 일반성분, 수율 및 경도 조사 결과 출수 후 33일 이후부터는 큰 차이가 없었다. 도정 후 쌀가루의 수율은 출수시일이 증가함에 따라 증가하였으며 ,출수 후 45일 이후의 벼에서 제조한 쌀가루만 양호한 상태였다. 곡립경도 연화실첩 결과 a-amylase 용액이 경도가 가장 낮았으며 4시간 침지가 최적인 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, 출수 후 45일 지난 벼는 제분 가능성이 있으며 효소용액 처리 후 곡립경도를 감소시켜 미세한 입자를 가진 쌀가루를 제조할 수 있다.

고대 홍화(Carthamus tinctorius L.) 염색의 실험적 고찰 (A Study on the Korean Traditional Dyeing Procedure of Carthamus Flower)

  • Traditionally dyeing fabrics with pigment extracted from carthamus flower was a popular method of obtaining red color in Korea. Such a method existed in several countries throughout the world before the synthetic dyestuff was developed. However, the traditional procedures of using natural products in obtaining colored materials are completely forgotten in modern Korea. The details of dyeing procedures fare not well documented in literature, either. In this study the method of extracting and dyeing with carthamus flower is reconstructed from Korean literature and actually carried out in laboratorf. The reconstructed method is compared with those of Japan, China, France, and Egypt, and the scientific basis of such an ancient tradition is discussed. Carthamus contains two kinds of coloring components : yellow carthamin and red carthamone. Water-soluble carthamin is first extracted by repeated washing and is usually used for the initial soaking procedure. Then carthamone is extracted in alkali solution by adding ashes of dried plants such as carthamus stalks and bean hull. Finally the solution of carthamone is made acidic by adding schizandra juice for dyeing on fabrics.

Effect of Chemical Treatment with Citric Acid or Ozonated Water on Microbial Growth and Polyphenoloxidase Activity in Lettuce and Cabbage

  • Effects of chemical treatment with a citric acid solution or ozonated water on microbiological changes in lettuce and cabbage during storage were studied. Fresh lettuce and cabbage samples were cut into small pieces and treated by soaking in either ozonated water or a citric acid solution. After treatment, populations of total bacteria, yeast and mold, and E. coli were determined. Numbers of microorganisms increased during storage, but ozonated water and citric acid treatments retarded the increase in microbial growth. Among treatments, 1 % citric acid treatment was the most effective in terms of microbiological change and inhibition of polyphenoloxidase (PPO). For lettuce, citric acid treatment decreased the microbial growth overall by 1.5 log CFU/g and inhibited the PPO activity by 80%. These results indicate that chemical-treated lettuce and cabbage retained a better quality than those of the control during storage.

Sorbitol-Facilitated Preconditioning Improves Desiccation Resistance of Douglas-fir and Western Hemlock Seedlings

  • A hypertonic solution of sorbitol was used to precondition Douglas-fir and Western hemlock plug seedlings to improve desiccation resistance. Seedlings were preconditioned by soaking their root balls in water, -0.75 or -1.50 MPa sorbitol solution for 22 hr, and then exposed to desiccation conditions for 8 days. During the desiccation period, a transpirational water loss was significantly reduced by the sorbitol preconditioning, with its effect positively depending on concentration. This preconditioning-induced reduction in water loss was mainly caused by the decline in needle stomatal conductance. Sorbitol-induced stomatal control was more closely associated with reduction in plant water potential, rather than increase in abscisic acid concentrations. After rehydration of stressed-plants, most of the preconditioned seedlings with sorbitol were survived, while only 35% of Douglas-fir and 28% of Western hemlock seedlings treated with water were alive. The post-growth was significantly greater in the preconditioned seedlings than only water-treated seedlings. These results suggested that the earlier stomatal control with sorbitol-facilitated preconditioning could play a role in improving desiccation resistance of evergreen woody plants at transplanting in the field where water supply is limited or dry conditions are prevailing.
