  • A traditional average smoothing method is designed for smoothing out noise, which, however, unintentionally results in smooth corner points on the curvature accompanied with a shrinkage of curves. In this paper, we propose a novel curve smoothing method via polygonal approximation of the input curve. The proposed method determines the smoothing weight for each point of the input curve based on the angle and approximation error between the approximated polygon and the input curve. The weight constrains a displacement of the point after smoothing not to significantly exceed the average noise error of the region. In the experiment, we observed that the resulting smoothed curve is close to the original curve since the point moves toward the average position of the noise after smoothing. As an application to digital cartography, for the same amount of smoothing, the proposed method yields a less area reduction even on small curve segments than the existing smoothing methods.

  • Essential oils aims to rejuvenate and beautify medical skin care the body through the use of essential oils, and generally to improve our outward appearance. Much of this section fouses on the different methods by which essential oils can be used to improve the complexion or to treat specific medical care skin conditions. Beauty, however, is not just skin-deep. The condition of the medical care express the overall health of an individual. A relaxed attitude, together with a well-balanced diet, enough exercise, and a daily intake of plenty of spring water or herbal teas, all help to keep the system in top condition. Essential oils is a healing art which has powerful effects on both mind and body. The vital element in essential oils is the pure oils which are extracted from various part of different plants. The key to medical aromatherapy care lies in its dual use of essential oils and medical care massage, thus masking full use of two of our most important senses-smell and touch. Medical aromatherapy care is holistic, working mainly on the nervous system and including the head and body as part of the same treatment. Using pressure points along the spine, Medical aromatherapy care on the autonomic nervous system and has an immediate effect of relexation. In directly it also acts on mood. Many of the medical massage movements help lymphatic drainage. Essential oils have many different qualities; they can be relaxing or invigorating and are generally antisepic and antibacterial. Medical aromatherapy care can have psychological benefits. The power of essences in healing has been recognized in the treatment of insect bites. Clove, thyme, sandalwood, and lavender are a few of the essences that have antiseptic. Essential oils effect the dry skin for small visual pores, dull matte finish, rough sandy feeling, tantskin. • This thesis is a reflection of Korean aestheticism and how it has evolved and influenced Korean contemporary fashion throughout the last century. Up to the current, there have been five notable trends of fashion that have been influenced from and have reflected the qualities emblematic of various periods in Korean history. They can be characterized as the era of Missionary fashion, Uniform fashion, Salon fashion, Brand Name Fashion, and finally, fashion from the current era of diversification. The specific characteristics of each fashion era have been analized and illustrated in a comprehensive table. Design characteristics of Korean contemporary fashion are as follows : 1. A point of emphasis is given to facial feature, unconstructive design and ample silhouette and A silhouette, two-piece and pants. Korean style wrap skirt, a smooth curve and layered style. 2. Effect of flatness from material; as methods of quilting, reinforced dual stitching(Kaeki), patchwork, embroidery and goldfoil thread extra, it is turned up that texture of cloth stuff and effects of flatness. 3. Simple color combinations give effects in two different directions For instance, white and a variety of vivid colors, a dull color and bright colors, black, blue. 4. Over-design, diffusion of fashion. Based on the design characteristics described above, the essence of Korea's beauty consciousness can be captured and summarized through the following points: 1. Emotionalism and non-characterism: traditional and simple natural beauty and modernized natural beauty. 2. From authoritism to non-authoritism: traditional and formal personal beauty and casual characteristic beauty. 3. Polaris (antithesis) phenomenon: chastic beauty and ostentatious beauty, simplicity and lavishness, conformity of fashion and originality. Although the beauty consciousness of Korean contemporary fashion is changing from traditional passive metaphor to aesthetic expressionism for the new generation, after all the basic foundation or root of the spiritual beauty of idealism is usually recognized by focusing on the face.

  • In the content-based image coding, where each object in the scene is encoded independently, the shape, texture and motion information are very important factors. Though the contours representing the shape of an object occupy a great amount of data in proportion to the whole information, they strongly affect the subjective image quaility. Therefore, the distortion of contour coding has to be minimized as much as possible. In this paper, we propose a new method for the contour coding in which the contours are approximated to polygon and the eorror signal occurring from polygonal approximation are transformed with new basis functions. Considering the facts that confour segments occurring from polygonal approximation are smooth curves and error signals have two zero-ending points, we design new basis functions based on the Legendre polynomial and then transform the error signals with them. When applied to synthetic images such as circles, ellipses and etc., the proposed method provides, in overall, outstanding results in respect to the transform coding gain compared with DCT and DST. And in the case when applied to natural images, the proposed method gives better image quality over DCT and comparable results with DST.

  • A soft rot of fruits caused by Rhizopus stolonifer occurred on cherry tomato in Jinju City Agricultural Products Wholesale Market, Korea. The disease infection usually started from wounding after cracking of fruits. At first, the lesions started with water soaked and were rapidly softened and diseased lesion gradually expanded. The mycelia grew vigorously on the surface of fruits and formed stolons. Colonies on potato dextrose agar at $25^{\circ}C$ were white cottony at first, becoming heavily speckled by the presence of sporangia and the browinish black, and spreading rapidly by means of stolons fired at various points to the substrate by rhizoids. Sporangia were $82.7{\times}196.7{\mu}m$ in size and globose or sub-globose with somewhat flattened base. The color of sporangia was white at first and then turned black with many spores, and never overhanging. Sporangiophores were $2.6{\sim}5.8{\times}12.3{\sim}24.2{\mu}m$ in width, smooth-walled, non-septate, tight brown, simple, long, arising in groups of $3{\sim}5$ from stolons opposite rhizoids. Sporangiospores were $8.2{\sim}18.8{\mu}m$ long, irregular, round, oval, elongate, angular, and browinish-black streaked. Columella was $64.1{\times}136.3{\mu}m$. brownish gray, and umberella-shaped when dehisced. The causal organism was identified to be R. stolonifer. This is the first report of Rhizopus soft rot on cherry tomato caused by R. stolonifer in Korea.

  • As 3D geospatial information is demanded, terrestrial laser scanners which can obtain 3D model of objects have been applied in various fields such as Building Information Modeling (BIM), structural analysis, and disaster management. To acquire precise data, performance evaluation of a terrestrial laser scanner must be conducted. While existing 3D surveying equipment like a total station has a standard method for performance evaluation, a terrestrial laser scanner evaluation technique for users is not established. This paper categorizes and analyzes error sources which generally occur in terrestrial laser scanning. In addition to the prior researches about categorizing error sources of terrestrial Laser scanning, this paper evaluates the error sources by the actual field tests for the smooth in-situ applications. The error factors in terrestrial laser scanning are categorized into interior error caused by mechanical errors in a terrestrial laser scanner and exterior errors affected by scanning geometry and target property. Each error sources were evaluated by simulation and actual experiments. The 3D coordinates of observed target can be distortedby the biases in distance and rotation measurement in scanning system. In particular, the exterior factors caused significant geometric errors in observed point cloud. The noise points can be generated by steep incidence angle, mixed-pixel and crosstalk. In using terrestrial laser scanner, elaborate scanning plan and proper post processing are required to obtain valid and accurate 3D spatial information.

  • Hull form can be described numerically by two approaches, one is to describe a hull form with a set of curves("curve approach"), and the other is to describe it with surfaces directly("surface approach"). This paper describes the numerical definition scheme of hull form using curve approach method which defines the hull form by a set of curves consisting of 2-dimensional transverse section curves and 3-dimensional longitudinal curves. A set of curves in the hull form definition scheme is described by the modified cubic spline which modified the general parametric cubic spline in order to ensure a very smooth curvature distribution within the curve segment even though a curve segment has large tangent angle at its end points. Illustrative examples are given showing the application of the method to represent the hull form of SWATH ship and oceanographic research vessel. Also, examples for hull form transformation are shown by using this method connected with transformation technique.

  • In order to further improve the corrosion resistance and wear resistance of the Ni-P coatings of electroless plating, electroless Ni-P/n-$Al_2O_3$ composite deposits were prepared by adding some nano $Al_2O_3$ Particles in Ni-P plating bath. The bath composition and proproties were studied in this paper. The orthogonal test was applied in order to get the new composite solution, taking the initial stable potential as evaluation standard and considering the elements correlation at the same time. The processing parameters have been optimized by single factor experiment in which the depositing speed was chosen as the evaluation standard. The results showed that the process is stable and the composite Ni-P/n-$Al_2O_3$ deposits werebright and smooth, whose hardness and corrosion resistance are much better than simple Ni-P coatings. Furthermore the surface appearance and structure of the composite Ni-P/n-$Al_2O_3$ coating were investigated by SEM and XRD method. It was proved that the coating surface is typical cystiform cells and its structure is amorphous. All test results ofcomposite coating showed that all various physical coating properties had been improved by adding nano-particles. The hardness of optimal coating is more than 600HV and increases to 1000HV after heat-treating, and its hardness is 20~50% higher than Ni-P coating. The rust points appeared in 200 hour by immersing the coating into the 10%HCl solution and the corrosive speed is $3{\times}10^{-3}mg/(cm^2{\cdot}h)$which was obtained after 300 hour. In the same condition Ni-P coating is $5.6{\times}10^{-3}mg/(cm^2{\cdot}h)$. The salt spray resistance of the layers can exceed 600h with the thickness $20{\mu}m$.
