The measuring point data of clay model are widely used to design parts whose external features are important design factor such as automobiles and general die products. This paper presents a method for improving the process to generate smooth surfaces from the measuring point data using turnkey CAD/CAM system. The process of smooth-surface generation involves several steps: styline finding, curve fairing, surface generation and filleting. The process is improved by automatic curve fairing, local correction of surface and multi-boundary surface treatment. An automobile bumper and a telephone receiver are measured and modeled to test the new method. Significant time saving is resulted by changing interactive mode to automatic mode and eliminating inefficient loop of surface generation process.

This paper presents a method to convert 3D CAD model to an appropriate analysis model using wrap-around, smooth-out and thinning operators that have been originally developed to realize the multi-resolution modeling. Wrap-around and smooth-out operators are used to simplify 3D model, and thinning operator is to reduce the dimension of a target object with simultaneously decomposing the simplified 3D model to 1D or 2D shapes. By using the simplification and dimension-reduction operations in an appropriate way, the user can generate an analysis model that matches specific applications. The advantage of this method is that the user can create optimized analysis models of various simplification levels by selecting appropriate number of detailed features and removing them.

These studies were carried out to investigate the effect of Mahwangchangchultang water extract on the inhibitory contractile action of acetylcholine in guinea pig. The results of these studies were as follows; 1. Contractile force of acetylcholine from trachea smooth muscle in guinea pig was significantly inhibited by Mahwangchangchultang 2. Dose-response of acetylcholine pretreated Mahwangchangchultang in guinea pig was not significantly changed. 3. Inhibitory contractile action of acetylcholine pretreated propranolol in guinea pig was decreased. 4. Inhibitory contractile action of acetylcholine pretreated indomethacin was not significantly changed by Mahwangchangchultang. 5. Inhibitory contractile action of acetylcholine pretreated methylene blue was not significantly changed by Mahwangchangchultang.

Network mobility support has been taken into consideration for users who have multiple terminals to enjoy the seamless connectivity. This paper proposes a network mobility support scheme in the LISP architecture. During the mobile router attachment, the EID-to-RLOC mapping database is refreshed in the map server. Furthermore, map update is developed to support smooth handoff for the mobile network. An analysis of performance is given by comparing the proposed scheme with NEMO.

This paper presents an $H_{\infty}$ controller synthesis method for discrete time fuzzy dynamic systems based on a piecewise smooth Lyapunov function. The basic idea of the proposed approach is to construct controllers for the fuzzy dynamic systems in such a way that a Piecewise smooth Lyapunov function can be used to establish the global stability with $H_{\infty}$ performance of the resulting closed loop fuzzy control systems. It is shown that the control laws can be obtained by solving a set of Bilinear Matrix Inequalities (BMIs). An example is given to illustrate the application of the proposed method.

At present, deterioration in service quality, which caused by increased network traffic from a lot of users in the same network, makes smooth communication service difficult. In this paper, we present policy-based QoS management system for VoIP service in order to supply smooth VoIP service to users. The presented system can guarantee quality of VoIP service even in huge traffic situation, and makes it possible to operate whole network in an efficient manner.

This study is to determine the exact position of tipping rotation center of root. The method of measurement is to record by means of dial gauge. The different shapes of root of lower second premolar are named as smooth type, tapered type, and curved type. The followings are the result ; 1. The tipping rotation center of the teeth varies with he shape of roots. 2. The rotation center of the root is placed apical one third portion upon roots in the smooth shape of roots, one half portion of roots in the taper shape of roots and below the apical one-third of root in curve shape.
