  • The purpose of this study was to examine the moderated mediating effect of emotional expressiveness through social-anxiety on the relationship between university student' life stress and smart phone overdependence. For this purpose, the survey was conducted at the Southern Post using revised life stress scale for college students(RLSS-CS), social anxietyy scale(SIAS), smart phone overdependence scale(S-scale), and emotional expressiveness scale(BEQ). Data collected from 400 (200 men, 200 women) were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 and SPSS Macro. The results were as follows: first, university students' life stress were positively associated with social-anxiety, smart phone overdependence and emotional expressiveness. Secondly, partially mediating effect of social-anxiety on the process of university students' life stress affecting smart phone overdependence. Thirdly, emotional expressiveness also moderated the mediating effect of university student' life stress on smart phone overdependence through social-anxiety. In this study, the pathway leading to the smart phone overdependence was examined jointly, including life stress, social-anxiety and emotional expressiveness. Finally, the implications and limitations of this study were discussed with suggestions for future studies.

The short-term longitudinal mediation effect of parental responsiveness in the effect of mother's smart device overdependence on children's overindulgence tendency (어머니의 스마트기기 과의존이 아동 초기 스마트기기 몰입경향성에 미치는 영향에서 양육자 반응성의 단기종단적 매개효과)

  • This study examined an effect of mother's smart device overdependence and short-term longitudinal mediation effect of mother's responsiveness on children's overindulgence tendency in smart devices. A total 144 children-mother dyads(male 73, female 71) participated in the study. The results of path analysis were as follows. The mother's smart phone overdependence and children's overindulgence tendency in smart devices were measured at time 1 and mother's responsiveness and children's overindulgence tendency were measured at time 2, six months later. When Time 1 children's overindulgence tendency in smart devices was controlled, Time 1 mother's smart phone overdependence significantly predicted time 2 children's overindulgence tendency. This study suggested empirical findings that caregiver's smart device were related with children's overindulgence tendency.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide basic data that mother's smart phone overdependence prevention education are needed by confirming the relationship between mother' s smartphone overdependence and parent role intelligence. The research subjects were 220 mothers of 0-2 years old who are attending 15 day care centers in Cheong-ju, Chung-buk. The research tool used smartphone overdependence scale, and parent role intelligence scale. For the analysis of the study, frequency analysis, Pearson's Ratio correlation and regression analysis were performed. The results showed that mother's smartphone overdependence was negatively correlated with parental role intelligence and negatively correlated with developmental stimulation, parenting, support, and management. The multiple regression analysis showed that there was a significant negative effect on the smartphone overdependency, parent role intelligence, and sub factors. This suggests that smartphone overdependence prevention education for mother should be needed for nurturing of desirable infants.

  • As the use of smartphones has rapidly increased due to the development of digital technology, the expansion of smartphones, and the COVID-19 incident, dependence on smartphones and the Internet is emerging as a serious social problem. As one of the solutions to the smartphone overdependence problem, the government and companies are releasing smartphone overdependence prevention applications. However, research on the effectiveness of smartphone overdependence prevention applications is insufficient. Therefore, this study selects 25 applications serviced in Korea as analysis targets and evaluates smartphone overdependence prevention applications in terms of function and service using the FGI survey method to identify problems and propose improvements. In the function evaluation, the functions of blocking illegal/harmful apps/websites, limiting smartphone usage time, and monitoring smartphone usage status are provided in most applications, so satisfaction scores are also highly evaluated. However, functions such as location check, smombie prevention, and body camphishing prevention served by some applications are evaluated low due to poor performance and poor accuracy. Classified by service provider, government-providing applications need to accurately perform functions and improve convenience of use. Mobile-Carrier-providing applications need to improve connectivity with other carriers and compatibility with other smart devices like smartphone, tablet, etc. Other private enterprise-providing applications need to open AS channels such as customer service centre and chatbot to improve service.
