Photonic crystal is a dielectric materials or a set of different dielectric materials with periodic structure of refractive index. Line defect obtained by leaving out a row of rod along the $\Gamma$-X direction. We showed the change of group velocity in waveguide mode and found a small group velocity. Characteristic of the small group velocity described by electric field distribution. As the phase variation, small group velocity confirmed from positive to negative.

This study has an intention of investigating residential present condition of small households, and analysing the factors which have an influence on the choice of residence as a first step of the efficient plan of group residential facility providing a variety of residential present condition. The study defines the meaning of small households on the basis of statistical data that were presented at the National Statistical Office in order to analyse the factors influencing the choice of residence and investigate residential present condition. And the analysis range target is from 20 to 30 aged groups such as university students, social rookie year, and married couples without children. According to the result of analysing residential actual conditions of small households, The choice of residence has various factors. But the study supposes that it reflects three elements of workplace, University and housing price in the choice of residence. So the study investigated the related data.

The purpose of this study is to investigate factors which can lead small buyers to participate in a Reverse Aggregation Electronic Market (RAEM). Five factors including search, selection, price, delivery, and Internet literacy were selected as possible factors which are expected to influence small buyers' participation in a RAEM. This paper focused on a RAEM of the Korean automotive industry in which the third party aggregator formed a group of small automobile repair shops (ARS) and amassed buying power for them by building a buyer' oriented electronic market (EM). Survey data were collected from small ARS in South Korea. The results of the empirical analysis indicated that fast delivery and support for Internet illiteracy are potential incentives that could influence buyers' decisions to join a RAEM.

Accident of small and medium-sized construction sites happens much than large-sized construction sites. The safety consulting for accident prevention of construction sites has been launched in 1995. This research probed latency accident of small and medium-sized construction sites. By method, we used that result data of safety consulting for accident prevention of small and medium-sized construction sites. As a result a fall was examined by the most latency accident factor. In this study, a fall and electric shock, descent, fall down in ground, a fire was examined weighty accident factor of small and medium-sized construction sites.

클라우드 시스템에서 사용되는 스토리지 서버는 다수의 워크로드가 혼재됨으로 인하여 상당수의 쓰기 연산이 Small Random한 특성을 가지게 된다. 좀 더 높은 성능을 위해서 이런 특성에 적합한 스토리지 서버를 구축하는 것이 필요하며 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 자주 사용되는 스토리지 프로토콜인 NFS와 iSCSI를 비교하여 어떤 쪽이 Small Random Write에 더 적합한지 실험을 통해 알아 보았다. 결과적으로 Small Random Write들은 캐시에 합쳐지는 효과에 상당한 영향을 받으며, 이런 캐시 효과가 더 효율적인 것은 iSCSI 임을 확인하였다.

Six Holstein heifer calves weaned at 45 days-of-age were randomly allocated into high daily gain (1.1 kg/d, HDG) and low daily gain (0.56 kg/d, LDG) groups, and were slaughtered at 170 kg of live weight. Energy intake level in the feeding period was 2.4 $\times$ maintenance in 105 days for HDG and 1.4 $\times$ maintenance in 216 days for LDG calves. Total length of the small intestine was identical between groups, but both weights of the pancreas and of the small intestinal mucosa were greater (p < 0.01) for HDG calves. Alpha-amylase, lipase, proteinase, and trypsin activities of the whole pancreas were higher (p < 0.05) in HDG calves. Disaccharidase activity of the whole small intestinal mucosa was also higher (p < 0.10) for HDG than for LDG calves. However, the enzymatic activities, expressed as per gram or per protein of the pancreas and the small intestinal mucosa, were not affected (p > 0.10) by the plane of nutrition. These results suggest that the digestive enzyme activity in the small intestine varies primarily with the weight of tissues synthesizing the enzyme.

Amyloidosis is an all-inclusive disease of deposition of amyloid proteins in the extracellular spaces, which in localized or systemic form cause tissue damage and dysfunction. Herein, we report a case of small bowel involvement of systemic amyloidosis presenting with multiple polypoid wall thickening mimicking small bowel polyposis syndrome in an age 75 male. Interestingly, polypoid wall thickening and amyloidoma showed hypointensity on T2-weighted images. To our knowledge, there has been no literature describing MRI findings of poylpoid wall thickening and amyloidoma. Although the underlying mechanisms are unclear and need validation, hypointensity on T2-weighted images could be valuable in diagnosing small bowel involvement of amyloidosis in patients presenting with poylpoid wall thickening and amyloidoma.

In this era of knowledge and information of the 21st century, the source of a nation's competitive power consists of human resources and material resources and the importance of human resources appreciates highly. The number of small and medium enterprises which are the core of national economy covers over 98% among whole domestic enterprises of Korea. Competitive power of small and medium enterprises comes from human resources development. For the development of human resources, small and medium enterprises are trying to expand their learning organizations in the company. The analysis of outcomes of administering the existing learning organizations shows that learning organizations contribute highly to the improvement of the productivity of small and medium enterprises. And the analysis also shows that the participants of learning organizations and middle management and executives who support and encourage them recognize the necessity of learning organizations and that it should be disseminated throughout other enterprises. Therefore government's supports to establish learning organizations in a company are required to expand.

We report a rare case of Meckel's diverticulum in a boy who initially presented with chronic iron deficiency anemia (IDA) without any history of gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding at 8 years-old. Isolated small bowel Crohn's disease was suspected based on findings of small bowel ulcers on capsule endoscopy. At four years from initial presentation, he developed massive GI bleeding. Abdominal computed tomographic angiography and small bowel series revealed findings suggestive of Meckel's diverticulum. Meckel's diverticulum should be suspected in children with unexplained chronic IDA even in the absence of prominent GI bleeding and negative findings on repetitive Meckel's scans. Moreover, Meckel's diverticulum should be included in the differential diagnosis of isolated small bowel Crohn's disease when the disease is limited to a short segment of the distal small bowel, as ulcers and inflammation may result as a consequence of acid secreted from adjacent heterotopic gastric mucosa constituting the Meckel's diverticulum.

This study was performed to compare the radiographic and echocardiographic features of cardiovascular changes between small and large dogs with heartworm diseases. Total of 49 dogs from two institutions were included in this study. The dogs were diagnosed with heartworm infestation and underwent thoracic and echocardiography. On thoracic radiographs, vertebral heart scale, reverse D shape, main pulmonary artery dilation, peripheral pulmonary artery dilation, and evidence of right heart failure were evaluated. On echocardiographs, visibility of worms, main pulmonary artery to aortic root (MPA/Ao) ratio, right to left ventricular basal diameter (RVD/LVD) ratio, and pulmonary hypertension were evaluated and analyzed between small and large dogs. The proportion of reverse D shape of the heart and accuracy for right ventricular hypertrophy in small dogs were lower than those of the large dogs. For echocardiographic parameter, the MPA/Ao and RVD/LVD ratio in the small dogs were significantly lower than those of the large dogs. As the results, thoracic radiography have a tendency to underestimate the severity of HWD in small dogs and should be used with echocardiography.
