A fact-finding survey of the Demilitarized Zone can be said to be a very meaningful academic survey linked to previous index surveys of protected military areas and municipal and excavation surveys of ruins and military sites on Mount Dora. Not a few ruins were first discovered in this survey, and the locations, structures, and restoration artifacts of the previously investigated ruins were confirmed differently, raising the need for a detailed investigation. In particular, it is noteworthy that various relics from the Paleolithic Age to the Joseon Dynasty were recovered from relics dispersion sites such as Josan-ri and Cheorwon Gangseo-ri in Paju, and Hoengsan-ri Temple Site is also a Buddhist relic in the Demilitarized Zone. However, in the case of some graveyards and relics sites in the Paju region, it was an opportunity to understand the reality that they are not safe from cultivation and development, and the ruins of Cheorwon Capital Castle, Seongsanseong Fortress, Jorangjin Bastion, and Gangseo-ri Bastion were damaged during the construction of military facilities, and an urgent investigation is needed. Also, farmland and hilly areas around the ruins of Jangdan, Gunnae-myeon, and Gangsan-ri have not been properly investigated for buried cultural assets due to small-scale development. Therefore, it is an important time for the relevant authorities and agencies to cooperate more closely to establish special management and medium- to long-term investigation measures for the cultural heritage in the Demilitarized Zone based on the results of this fact-finding investigation.

This study conducted a classification of small-scale biological habitats created in Seoul to analyze and synthesize location characteristics, habitat structure, biological habitat functions, and threat factors of representative sites, as well as derive creation and management problems according to the ecological characteristics. The aim was to suggest improvement measures and management items. Data collected through a field survey was used to categorize 39 locations, and 8 representative sites were selected by dividing them into location, water system, and size as classification criteria for typification. Due to the characteristics of each type, the site was created in an area where amphibian movement was disadvantageous due to low or disconnected connectivity with the hinterland forest, and the water supply was unstable in securing a constant flow and maintaining a constant water depth. The habitat structure has a small area, an artificial habitat structure that is unfavorable for amphibians, having the possibility of sediment inflow, and damage to the revetment area. The biological habitat function is a lack of wetland plants and the distribution of naturalized grasses, and threats include the establishment of hiking trails and decks in the surrounding area. Artificial disturbances occur adjacent to facilities. When creating habitats according to the characteristics of each type, it was necessary to review the possibility of an artificial water supply and introduce a water system with a continuous flow in order to connect the hinterland forest for amphibian movement and locate it in a place where water supply is possible. The habitat structure should be as large as possible, or several small-scale habitats should be connected to create a natural waterfront structure. In addition, additional wetland plants should be introduced to provide shelter for amphibians, and facilities such as walking paths should be installed in areas other than migration routes to prevent artificial disturbances. After construction, the management plan is to maintain various water depths for amphibians to inhabit and spawn, stabilize slopes due to sediment inflow, repair damage to revetments, and remove organic matter deposits to secure natural grasses and open water. Artificial management should be minimized. This study proposed improvement measures to improve the function of biological habitats through the analysis of problems with previously applied techniques, and based on this, in the future, small-scale biological habitat spaces suitable for the urban environment can be created for local governments that want to create small-scale biological habitat spaces, including Seoul City. It is significant in that it can provide management plans.

A system that extracts seabed topographic information by simultaneously and continuously observing the horizontal position and water depth in the sea by combining a single beam echosounder and GNSS was constructed. By applying the developed system to actual measurements of small-scale sea areas, the effectiveness of bathymetry and sea-floor topographic data acquisition using GNSS and echosounder was examined. By using the developed outdoor program DS-NAV and indoor program DS-CAD and applying the tide level data at the time of actual measurement of the target sea area, it was possible to derive bathymetry results based on the datum level i.e. approximate lowest low water level(A.L.L.W). From database built through the actual measurement. it was possible to create 3D model of the sea-floor topography and extract cross-sections. The results of this study are expected to be economically useful for extracting seabed topographical information from small sea areas or in dredging sites for offshore construction.
This study is to derive a project model based on potential demand for Korean-style houses, focusing on new town detached housing sites that LH supplies and to test validity of the derived model and to present the direction and supply methods of the projects. The existing high-class new town Korean-style housing developments that have been considered were found to have little business value due to problems in choice of location and discordance of demand, so 6 types of projects were established through the methods of changes in planned scale, combined use, and subdivision of plot of land based on the results of survey. The type that has the highest business value among the project models was block-type multifamily houses, and this can be interpreted as the increase in total construction area leading to increase inrevenues of allotment sales due to economies of scale. The feasibility of mass housing model in which small-scale Korean-style houses are combined with amenities was found to be high, and if the same project conditions as those of the block-type multifamily houses are applied, the business value of the Korean-style tenement houses was found to be high. Besides, the high-class housing models within block-type detached housing areas are typical projects that the private sector generally promotes, and the construction cost was found to be most expensive with 910 million won per house. In order to enhance the business value of the Korean-style housing development, collectivization such as choice of location, diversification of demand classes, optimization of house sizes, and combination of uses is needed. And in order to adopt Korean-style houses in the detached housing sites, the adjustments and division of the existing planned plots are needed, and the strategies to cope with new demand through supplying Korean-style housing types of sites can be suggested. Also breaking away from the existing uniform residential development methods, the development method through supplying original land that is natural land not yet developed besides basic infrastructures (main roads and water and sewage) can be considered, and as the construction of more than 1~2 stories building is impossible due to the structure of Korean-style house roof and furniture. So it can be suggested that original land in the form of hilly land is considered to be most suitable to large-scale development projects.

A large-sized exciter that vibrates a two-ton component is required to simulate the field operating conditions of a counterweight of an excavator. However, it is difficult for a small-medium sized company to obtain a large exciter for the life test of a counterweight which is an equivalent counterbalancing weight that balances a load. Therefore, in this study, we developed life test equipment for evaluating the reliability of construction machinery weighing about two tons. It simulates the field operating conditions using rotational vibrators consisting of electric motors. A failure analysis of the counterweight was also performed for the major components. Field data acquired from various sites were applied to the life test design of the counterweight. Finally, a zero-failure qualification test based on the accelerated life test was designed, and there was no failure during the test, which guarantees a life of $B_5$ 10,000 hours.
This study summarizes the relations among $PM_{2.5}$ concentration, water-soluble ions concentration, metallic element Components characteristics and SPSS in negative ion and metallic element of $PM_{2.5}$ particle in Miryang.(By the urban area, the industrial complex area and the suburban area according to the season) $PM_{2.5}$ concentration of total 72 samples collected from 3 sites turned out to range from 3.47 to 34.7 ${\mu}g/m^3$, and the average concentration was the suburban area-the kin nup(16.00 ${\mu}g/m^3$) > the urban area-the roof of the old Miryang university(10.32 ${\mu}g/m^3$) > the industrial complex-Sapo industrial complex(10.29 ${\mu}g/m^3$). In particular, the suburban area had $PM_{2.5}$ concentration 1.5 times those of urban area, industrial complex. It was thought although the site was suburban and farm-side without pollutants around, it had a higher concentration value influenced by external factors including the brickyard, small-scale incinerator, driving range construction, construction on the Daegu-Busan express and the widening of the four-lane road between Miryang-Anyang nearby. As for water-soluble ions among $PM_{2.5}$ particle collected in Miryang area, $SO4_{2^-}$ accounted for 60% and $NO_{3^-}$, was 30% in spring and summer. And $NO_{3^-}$ accounted for 50% and $SO4_{2^-}$ was 35% in fall and winter. The AI value of metallic Components among $PM_{2.5}$ particle collected in Miryang area had a high value influenced by the apartment complex construction and the extension work of road. The industrial complex area had Zn concentration 3 times, and Fe concentration 2 times those of urban area and suburb area. When it comes to the relation with metallic elements in urban area, the highest coefficient of correlation was between Cr-Fe with 0.85, and Pb-Cd turned out in the reverse correlation. Among metallic elements, the coefficients of correlation between Zn and Cr, Mn, Fe, NI were high in industrial complex area. The highest coefficient of correlation was between Mn-Zn with 0.88, meanwhile Ni and Cu, Cd turned out in the reverse correlation in the suburb area. These coefficients of correlation are attributed to the difference in pollutant sources, rather than difference in pollutant and non-pollutant.

Roadbed stability is paramount in urban areas as it directly affects public safety and city operations. South Korea's major metropolis has experienced 1127 cases of ground subsidence since 2014, affecting subways, roads, railways, and construction sites. Notably, about 40% of these incidents coincide with heavy summer rainfall, while 60% resulted from utility damage, improper backfill, and groundwater fluctuations. Subsequently, roadbed instability leads to a range of cascading hazards, including sinkholes and road failures, endangering public safety and the economy. Therefore, continuous monitoring of roadbed stability and implementing proactive measures are essential for a resilient transportation infrastructure. However, terrestrial in-situ observations like GPS provide accurate surface's displacement with high temporal accuracy but limited spatial resolution. To address this issue, we used the InSAR permanent scatterer (PSInSAR) technique to process 35 Sentinel-1 SLC datasets acquired between 2017 and 2022 to monitor and prevent cascading hazards in Daejeon City, South Korea. The results revealed an average subsidence rate of -0.88mm/year with a maximum of -7.73 mm/year. Notably, the southern part of the city exhibited significant roadbed instability, with an average and maximum cumulative subsidence of -5.13 mm and -44.95 mm, respectively. The deformation data was then integrated with road geometry to develop a vulnerability map of the city, highlighting the pronounced roadbed deformation in the southern region. Time-series subsidence variations correlated with groundwater fluctuations data from 2017 to 2022, showing a decline in groundwater levels from 4.63m to 9.9m in the southern region. Furthermore, a comparison between subsidence rates and effective shear wave velocity (Vs30) revealed that most subsidence events were associated with Vs30 values below 420 m/sec, indicating a clear lithological influence on the spatial distribution of roadbed instability. Thus, the integrated geotechnical and hydrogeological data with PSInSAR monitoring can better understand the processes responsible for roadbed instability in areas with small-scale variations.

In recent years in Korea, Typhoon Rusa (2002), Typhoon Maemi (2003), and the localized extreme rainfall followed by Typhoon Ewiniar in 2006 devastated residential areas, roads, and agricultural lands in Gangwon province where 90% of the area is in mountainous regions. Most of the economic losses and casualties were concentrated in the area near the mountain valleys and creeks due to the floods and debris flows. In this study, DATABASE, which includes a total 180 debris flow events in the Gangwon area, was created by collecting the hazard records and field investigations of existing debris flow sites. Analysis results showed that the most of the debris flows in Gangwon province initiated from the small slope failure with relatively steep slope of $18.1^{\circ}$. And they flowed short distances about 420 m in gentle slope with the average angle of $18.1^{\circ}$. In addition, rainfall condition was important for the triggering of debris flow not only at the day of debris flow but also extended period of rainfall before debris flow.
Recently the construction of simulation environment is an important issue in all fields. In case of the training for operating machines such as airplanes or spaceships which cause a huge cost, simulators could be helpful to reduce the costs and training efforts by simulating real situations. When people get a driver's license, too many trainees have to wait for their turns because of the limited number of cars and the small space of training sites. To solve this problem, we have designed and developed the basic design for the simulators. We suggest the Computer 3D Simulation Model for a driver's practice. The concept of this simulator is from a 3D Racing-game which suits for a driving exercise. We provide users with handle-controlled simulation settings to let users feel reality as if they drive in real through this simulator. We also use a 'force-feedback' system which gives handle vibration when users collide against obstacles or exceed lanes. Users can be absorbed in the simulation program and feel the sense of the real. This paper is the study about modeling the driving exercise model of 'computer 3D simulation', and producing and utilizing the simulator through this modeling.
The lack of water resources is becoming a serious issue throughout the world. The water shortage in Korea is expected to increase. Groundwater can be a solution to this matter in some places. Especially, bank filtrations are known to be advantageous over conventional reserviors, even if they have some drawbacks such as their limited location for development and small sizes. The AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) is an analytical tool, supported by simple mathematics, which enables one to explicitly rank tangible and intangible factors against each other for the purpose of resolving conflicts or setting priorities. In order to check the applicability of AHP to the evaluation of bank filtration sites, four candidate locations were chosen. They have suffered from problems like water-supply shortage and delayed dam construction. The analysis results are compared with those of the previous study using a conventional method. It is believed that the developed method can a basis for reasonable decision-making regarding bank filtration development.
