  • 사파이어 ($\alpha$-$Al_2$$O_3$) 단결정에 있어 basal slip (0001)1/3<1120>의 전위속도를 4점 곡강도를 이용하여, 측정하였다. 이 곡강도는 온도 $1200^{\circ}C$ 에서 $1400^{\circ}C$ 그리고 응력은 90MPa, 120MPa, 160MPa에서 행하여졌다. 전위속도는 4 점굽힘 시편의 굽힘변위속도에 의해 구하여졌다. 얻어진 전위속도를 이용하여 전위속도의 온도 및 응력 의존성에 대해 검토하였다. 전위속도의 온도의존성을 이용하여 basal slip 전위속도를 위한 활성화에너지를 구하였으며, 그 값은 대략 2.2$\pm$0.4eV이었다. 한편, 전위속도의 응력의존성을 나타내는 응력지수 m은 2.0$\pm$0.2이었다.

Rheological behavior and wall slip of dilute and semidilute CPyCl/NaSal surfactant solutions

  • In this research, experimental studies were performed to examine the rheological behavior of equimolar solutions of cetylpyridinium chloride (CPyCl) and sodium salicylate (NaSal) solutions with concentration. The surfactant solutions were prepared by dissolving 2 mM/2 mM - 80 mM/80 mM of surfactant/counterion in double-distilled water. It has been observed that the zero shear viscosity shows abrupt changes at two critical values of C^*$ and C^{**}$. These changes are caused by the switching of relaxation mechanism with concentration of CPyCl/NaSal solutions at those concentrations. The wall slip velocities of dilute and semidilute CPyCl/NaSal solutions show a dramatic increase with shear rate where the shear viscosity exhibits shear thickening behavior for dilute solutions and shear thinning behavior for semi-dilute solutions, respectively. Considering that the dramatic increase in wall slip velocity should be related to the formation of shear-induced structure (SIS) in the surfactant solution, the shear thickening behavior of semi-dilute solutions is caused by elastic instability unlike the case of dilute solutions.

Experimental studies on the diesel engine urea-SCR system using a double NOx sensor system

  • SCR has been popularly approved as one of the most effective means for NOx emission control in heavy-duty and medium-duty vehicles currently. However, high urea dosing would lead to ammonia slip. And $NH_3$ sensor for vehicle emission applications has not been popularly used in real applications. This paper presents experimental studies on the diesel engine urea-SCR system by using a double NOx sensor system that is arranged in the downstream of the SCR catalyst based on ammonia cross-sensitivity. It was shown that the NOx conversion efficiency rised as $NH_3/NOx$ increases and the ammonia slip started from the $NH_3/NOx$ equal to 1.4. The increase of temperature caused high improvement of the SCR reaction rate while the space velocity had no obvious change. The ammonia slip was in advance as catalyst temperature or space velocity increase and the ammonia storage reduced as catalyst temperature or space velocity increase. The NOx real-time conversion efficiency rised as the ammonia accumulative storage increase and reached the maximum value gradually.

3D Finite Element Analysis of Fault Displacements in the Nobi Fault Zone, Japan

  • The Nobi fault zone, which generated the 1891 Nobi Earthquake (M8.0), includes five or six faults distributed in and around Gifu and Aichi prefectures, Japan. Because large cities are located near the fault zone (e.g., Gifu and Nagoya), and because the zone will likely be reactivated in the future, relatively thorough surveys have been conducted on the 1891 Nobi earthquake event, examining the fault geometry, house collapse rate, and the magnitude and distribution of earthquake intensity and fault displacement. In this study, we calculated the earthquake slip along faults in the Nobi fault zone by applying a 3D numerical analysis. The analysis shows that a zone with slip displacements of up to 100 mm included all areas with house collapse rates of 100%. In addition, the maximum vertical displacement was approximately ${\pm}1700mm$, which is in agreement with the ${\pm}1400mm$ or greater vertical displacements obtained in previous studies. The analysis yielded a fault zone with slip displacements of > 30 mm that is coincident with areas in which house collapse rates were 60% of more. The analysis shows that the regional slip sense was coincident with areas of uplift and subsidence caused by the Nobi earthquake.

국내 이산화탄소 지중격리저장 실증실험 후보부지의 역학적 안정성 평가 기초해석 (Geomechanical Stability Analysis of Potential Site for Domestic Pilot CCS Project)

  • 이산화탄소 지중저장 사업의 성공적인 수행을 위해서는 저장시스템의 안정성을 확보할 수 있는 대상 지층을 선정하고 현장 지질조건에 최적화된 주입 조건을 설계해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 국내 실증실험 대상 예상후보지의 하나인 장기분지의 지질구조를 바탕으로 2차원 간략해석모델을 구축하고 TOUGH-FLAC 연계해석기법을 사용하여 초기응력조건과 주입량이 이산화탄소 격리저장시스템에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 기초해석 결과, 수직응력이 수평응력보다 우세한 정단층 응력조건에서 전단미끄러짐 가능성이 가장 높은 결과를 보였으며, 단위시간당 주입량을 달리하는 주입량 시나리오 해석에서는 주입량을 단계적으로 증가시켜 주입하는 경우가 공극압의 증가폭이 가장 크고 활동마찰계수를 이용한 전단미끄러짐 가능성 평가 결과에서도 가장 불리한 것으로 평가되었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 폭발하중을 받는 철근콘크리트 슬래브의 비선형 해석을 위한 개선된 수치 모델을 제안한다. 제안된 모델은 2축 응력 상태를 반영한 등가 강도에 의해 정의된 응력-변형률 관계를 사용하여 응력 상태를 직접 결정하는 변형률 속도 의존 이등방성 구성 모델을 다룬다. 또한, 균열 발생 후 콘크리트와 철근 사이의 부착 슬립이 점차 확대되어 소성힌지 영역으로 집중된다. 2축 응력 상태에서 콘크리트의 균열 방향은 주응력 방향에 따라 달라지므로 이를 고려한 부착 슬립 모델을 해석에 도입하였다. 해석 모델의 검증을 위해 수치해석과 실험결과의 상관관계 연구(correlation studies)가 수행되었다. 해석결과는 재료모델의 2축 거동과 부착 슬립의 영향을 고려하는 것이 해석결과의 정확성 향상에 중요함을 보여주며 제안된 해석 모델이 철근콘크리트 슬래브 부재의 폭발해석에 효과적으로 사용될 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • Wheel and rail wear is a fundamental and complicate problem in railway field. The life of railway is usually limited by wear. The wheel surface is subjected to high normal and tangential contact stress. The removal of material from the surface by wear is function of the sliding and contact stress. In the present paper, the wear characteristic depended on slip rate, contact pressure and temperature are investigated and is used to twin disc tester. The result shows that the wear in wheel-rail interface is remarkably depended on slip rate and contact pressure.

  • 질화규소 겔케스팅 공정제어를 위하여, MeOH의 첨가가 겔화유도시간과 성형체의 건조속도 및 기계적 특성에 미치는 영향에 대하여 조사하였다. 그 결과, 10~20 vol%의 MeOH 첨가에서 겉보기 겔화유도시간은 가장 크게 나타났으며, 이때의 건조속도는 약 25~40%의 증진효과를 나타내었다. 분산매에 대하여 40% MeOH 첨가 범위에서 성형체의 기계적 가공은 가능하였으나, 겔캐스팅 성형체의 상대밀도 및 강도는 다소 낮아졌다.

  • The Production of fine wire through wet wire drawing process with appropriate pass schedule would be impossible without understanding of relationship among many process parameters. Therefore, this paper investigates the relationship among process parameters of wet wire drawing process. In this study, it is possible to obtain the important basic data that can be used in the pass schedule of multi-pass wet wire drawing process. In order to verify the effectiveness of the analysis, pass redesign was performed based on the result of analysis to reduce the wire breakage. The wire breakage between the conventional pass schedule and the redesigned pass schedule was compared by the FE analysis and the wet win drawing experiment.
