  • Size reduction of micro-aperture using additional deposition is presented in this study. PECVD process was used for additional deposition. Rate of deposition is different with deposition direction because corners of shadowmask membrane have a taper. Deposition into backside showed better than deposition into frontside with size reduction. Shadowmask membrane with two materials has stress because of the difference of a coefficient of thermal expansion The cantilever of membrane bend to opposite direction of deposition. Deposition to both frontside and backside could reduce inside stress.

  • The present study investigates the evaporation heat transfer characteristics of nanofluid droplet for different nanoparticle sizes. Also, the heat transfer coefficient was measured at different nanoparticle concentrations during evaporation. From the experimental results, it is found that the evaporation behavior of sessile droplet can be considered as constant radius mode due to pinning effect. The total evaporation time of sessile droplet decreases with nanoparticle size up to 7.9% for 0.10 vol% nanofluid droplet. As nanoparticle concentration increases, the clear difference in heat transfer coefficient is observed, showing that the size effect should be examined. This result would be helpful in designing the correlation between the nanoparticle size and the heat transfer characteristics for various applications.

  • Sample size determination is very important part in clinical trials because it influences the time and the cost of the experimental studies. In this article, we consider the Bayesian methods for sample size determination based on hypothesis testing. Specifically we compare the usual Bayesian method using Bayes factor with the decision theoretic method using Bayesian reference criterion in mean difference problem for the normal case with known variances. We illustrate two procedures numerically as well as graphically.

  • The aim of this research is suggesting the method of obtaining well-graded aggregates for concrete replacing the recycled aggregate which size range is from 5 to 13 mm to currently used gap-graded natural aggregates which size range is only 13 to 25 mm. according to the tests results, the workability of concrete was improved with replacing the aggregates of 5 to 13 mm of size range because of compensating gap-grading. Furthermore, there was an improvement in compressive strength when the aggregates of 5 to 13 mm of size range was replaced because obtained well-graded aggregates contributed on increasing adhesiveness and filling internal pore system. Comparing replacing recycled aggregate to natural aggregate, there was no significant difference on the performances.

  • This study describes the results of experiment and numerical analysis for heating image by thermographic method when the size of void in concrete are changed. By comparing analytical solution by finite element method with measured image by thermography, the relationships between the surface temperature which can be confirmed by this method, the size of void and optimum time for detection of void and the difference of temperature are cleared.

  • In the present investigation, recrystallization occurring during hot rolling of thick steel plate was predicted. The thermo-mechanical history of a material point was traced by the finite element method and the recrystallization was predicted by the Sellars equations. The investigation was performed for 4 different cases; two different pass schedules in conventional rolling and two different pass schedules in controller rolling. Variations of temperature, strain, strain rate and grain size were compared with each other. It was found out that the difference of grain size through thickness was more distinctive in the cases of controller rolling.

  • Robustness rates for repeated measures pairwise multiple comparison procedures were investigated in a split plot design with one between- and one within-subjects factor using untrimmed and trimmed data. Five factors were manipulated in the study: distribution, sphericity, variance-covariance heteroscedasticity, total sample size, and sample size ratio. The Welsch test (W) and the Welsch test on trimmed data $(W_{RT})$ performed better than the other procedures, but had a liberal tendency. The trimmed difference score Bonferroni Procedure $(B_{DT})$ was a good choice in some conditions.

  • The purpose of this study was to assess condylar size in volumetric 3D imaging in patients with class I, class II, class III malocclusions. To evaluate the differences among the three experimental groups, the condylar values of men were analyzed. There was a significant difference in the measured values of height. Among the three experimental groups, the condylar measurements in women showed significant differences in height and width. This study is expected to be used for determining the connection between malocclusion and condyle as a base line data.

  • Purpose of this study is present the normal range of cardiac size and cardiothoracic ratio according to patient position(chest PA and AP) and age of Korean adult male on digital chest X - ray, And to propose a mutually compatible conversion rate. 1,024 males were eligible for this study, among 1,300 normal chest patients who underwent chest PA and low-dose CT examinations on the same day at the 'S' Hospital Health Examination Center in Seoul From January to December 2014. CS and CTR were measured by Danzer (1919). The mean difference between CS and CTR was statistically significant (p<0.01) in Chest PA (CS 135.48 mm, CTR 43.99%) and Chest AP image (CS 155.96 mm, CTR 51.75%). There was no statistically significant difference between left and right heart in chest PA and AP images (p>0.05). CS showed statistically significant difference between Chest PA (p>0. 05) and Chest AP (p<0.05). The thorax size and CTR were statistically significant (p<0.01) in both age and chest PA and AP. Result of this study, On Chest AP image CS was magnified 15%, CTR was magnified 17% compare with Chest PA image. CS and CTR were about 10% difference by changing posture at all ages.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of customized master cone on apical sealing in various apical size of prepared root canals, that is MAF(Master Apical File) and to know at which apical size the apical leakage is to be significantly reduced using customized master cone. 120 extracted single rooted premolars were divided into four groups according to their apical size(MAF), #30, 40, 50 and 60. And then, each group was subdivided into three in accordance with three obturation methods, lateral condensation with standardized master cone, lateral condensation with chloroform-dipped customized master cone, and continuous wave of obturation technique. Resorcinol-formaldehyde resin was used for the microleakage test of this study. Teeth were sectioned horizontally at 1.5mm(Level 1), 2.5mm(Level 2), and 3.5mm(Level 3) from the anatomical root apex using low speed microtome. All sections were examined under $\times$40 magnification with a stereomicroscope, photographed, and then scanned. With the scanned images, resin-infiltrated area presenting the microleakage was calculated using SigmaScan/Image, and the ratio of leakage to the total root canal area of each group was analyzed statistically(one way ANOVA). The results were as follows ; 1. In groups of MAF #30, there was no significant difference of mean leakage ratio among three obturation methods at all three levels. 2. In groups of MAF #40, the group using lateral condensation with customized master cone had the low-est mean leakage ratio at all three levels, but there was no significant difference among three obturation techniques. 3. In groups of MAF #50, the mean leakage ratio of the group using lateral condensation with standard master cone was the highest among those of three obturation techniques at level 1, and this difference was statistically significant(p<0.05). 4 In groups of MAF #60, the groups using lateral condensation with standard master cone had also the highest mean leakage ratio at all levels, but there was no significant difference at level 1 and 2. At level 3, the leakage of the group using lateral condensation with standard master cone was significantly higher than that of the group using continuous wave of obturation(p<0.05). The results of this study suggested that the obturation method using customized master cone or the continuous wave of obturation is more effective for apical sealing than that using standardized master cone when MAF is larger than #50.
