  • This study analyzes the effect of clothing involvement using meta-analysis. Metal-analysis (the analysis of analyses) is widely used in various academic areas to integrate individual empirical studies and generalize the knowledge of a specific research field. Previous studies regarding clothing involvement published since 1990 were researched from the KISS database using clothing involvement and fashion involvement as a keyword; subsequently, 127 articles were identified. Studies that had insufficient statistics or included clothing involvement as a moderating (or intervening variable) were eliminated; subsequently, 36 articles provided a total of 75 data sets that were used for the final analysis. Dependent variables were grouped into 10 categories to compare the differences between high and low involvement groups. The effect size of clothing involvement was large in non-personal information source; however, it was small in utility, brand royalty and quality. In the 7 categories of relational studies that showed homogeneity, the relation size regarding conformity was smaller than the personal information source.

  • Purpose - This study investigates the moderation effect of internal factor, a firms size, on the external knowledge sourcing strategy and its effectiveness in generating radical innovation. We incorporate concepts of breadth and depth as two measures to gauge the degree of openness in firms external search Research design and methodology - The dependent variable in the regression model is the percentage of innovative sales and therefore, Tobit regression is employed for estimating significant factors affecting on the ratio of first-to-market by breadth and depth in external knowledge, internationalization, and size. Results - The results show that the external knowledge, in terms of both breadth and depth, has a positive relationship with radical innovation. However internationalization as external knowledge resources is not statistically accepted. Firm size has moderating effect on innovation negatively only in case of using external knowledge resources to a high degree. Conclusions - Firms obtain external information mostly from customers, competitors, and suppliers etc. empirical knowledge in terms of scope and intensity is an important contributor to innovation. And intensity use of external knowledge and information resources can work in favor of smaller firms rather than larger ones. Internationalization seems to have little effect on innovation but it requires further researches with clear criteria and more data.

  • TiN coating were deposited onto different WC-Co substrates using arc ion plating (AIP) technique. The structure and morphology for the deposited coating were characterized by x-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The adhesion behavior of the deposited TiN coating was investigated with a conventional scratch test. Effects of WC particle size and Co content on the adhesion strength between the deposited TiN coating and substrate were studied. During the scratch test, the value of critical load was dependent of WC particle size and Co content on substrate. As the WC particle size and Co content on substrate decreased, the critical load increased. The highest critical load, approximately 110N, was obtained at WC particle size of 1$\mu\textrm{m}$ and Co content of 10wt.%.

  • Polycarbonate (PC) polymer is an engineering plastic which has large tensile strength and impact resistance and is wildly used as functional parts like micro mold. Direct machining of PC materials produces lots of burrs and rough surface due to large ductility and weak heat resistance and hence it is very difficult to machine PC materials using cutting tool to make micro-parts. In this study, elliptical vibration cutting (EVC) or 2-dimensional vibration cutting was performed to minimize the size of micro V-grooves on PC material. From the experimental results, it was observed that as the cutting depth and pattern size become smaller, the better machining quality was obtained, which is attributed to the positive effect of EVC that is dependent on the ratio of vibration amplitude to cutting depth. As the height of V-groove becomes less than $1.8{\mu}m$, however, the machining quality becomes lower as the pattern size decreases.

  • Effects of liquid-crystal droplets size on electro-optical properties of the polymer dispersed liquid crystals are investigated experimentally The liquid crystal droplets size was varied by controlling the Laser power for phase separation and LC/oligomer composition ratio. Electro-optical switching voltage is dependent on the LC/oligomer composition ratio and liquid crystal droplet size. The experimental results showed droplet size will be small and saturation voltage is increased but rise time will be short at high power illumination laser light for phase separation.

  • Analytical models for the prediction of the size of hardened zone in laser surface hardening are presented. The models are based on the solutions to the problem of three-dimensional heat flow in plates with infinite thickness. The validity of the model was tested on medium carbon steel for Gaussian mode of beam. Then the model for rectagular beam was used for the predicition of the size of hardened zone on various hardening process parameters. From the calculation results it appeared that the size and shape of the hardened zone are strongly dependent on process parameters such as beam mode, beam size, and traverse speed.

  • This study aims to test the relationship between the change in population size and population composition and crime changes. The analytical model includes variables representing changes in population size and population composition, three dependent variables for crime changes, and three control variables. Changes in popuvpdllation size and population composition are measured by indicators such as population size, gender, age groups, and immigrants and foreign workers, and crime changes by felonious, burglary, and violent crime volumes. The sample includes 154 cities and counties in South Korea, and the sample period is from 2010 to 2017. As a result of the analysis, I examine that the decrease in the number of young and men are likely to lead to a decline in felonious and violent crimes, but a high rate of the elderly and the increasing racial heterogeneity are likely to accelerate the fear and worries about crimes.

  • When there is no main effcts or only one main effect in a $2 \times 2$ factorial design, Type I error rates and power for the rank transformed F test (FR test) for interaction are nearly equal to those of the classical F test. However the power of FR test is quite superior under the exponential distribution rather than the of FR test is quite superior under the exponential distribution rather than the normal distribution. Meanwhile when both main effects are in the model, Type I error rates of FR test, compared with those of F test, decrease as the effect size increases and are dependent on the fashion in which main effects are constructed. In addition, the power of FR test increases as the effect size and the sample size increase and is highly dependent on the manner in which main effects are constructed and the type of population distribution.

  • This study tried to find out the effect of change management on the ERP performance in small and medium size companies. Communication, BPR management, education and training were selected as independent variables which might bring an effect on ERP performances which were classified as quality and quantity one. Structure equation model was built and analyzed with AMOS 5.0 version from data gathered through 127 companies which already implemented ERP systems. The result of this study shows that all the three independent variables give positive impacts on two dependent variables, which means change management is critical when small and medium size companies want to implement ERP systems.

  • A finite element based microstructural modeling for the size dependent strengthening of particle reinforced aluminum composites is presented. The model accounts explicitly for the enhanced strength in a discretely defined "punched zone" around the particle in an aluminum matrix composite as a result of geometrically necessary dislocations developed through a CTE mismatch. The density of geometrically necessary dislocations is calculated considering volume fraction of the particle. Results show that predicted flow stresses with different particle size are in good agreement with experiments. It is also shown that 0.2% offset yield stresses increases with smaller particles and larger volume fractions and this length-scale effect on the enhanced strength can be observed by explicitly including GND region around the particle. The strengths predicted with the inclusion of volume fraction in the density equation are slightly lower than those without.
