The efficient implementation of various physical actions of agents to respond to dynamically changing situations is essential for the simulation of realistic agents and activities in a cyber world. To achieve a maximum diversity of actions and immediate responsiveness to abrupt changes in situations, we have developed an animation technique in which complex actions are recursively constructed by reusing a set of primitive motions, and agents are designed to react in real-time to abrupt ambient changes by computationally satisfying kinematic constraints on body parts with respect to their goals. Our reusing scheme is extended to visualize the procedure of realistic intricate situations involving many concurring events. Our approach based on motion reuse and recursive assembly has clear advantages in motion variability and action diversity with respect to authoring scalability and motion responsiveness compared to conventional monolithic (static) animation techniques. This diversity also serves to accommodate the characteristic unpredictability of events concurring in a situation due to inherent non-determinism of associated conditions. To demonstrate the viability of our approach, we implement several composite and parallel actions in a dynamically changing example situation involving events that were originally independent until coincidentally inter-coupled therein.
Last year's Goseong-Sokcho forest fires have highlighted the limitations of extinguishing work for night-time forest fire and the importance of quick identification for information on the spread of forest fire. However, it is not easy to find services that take into account the characteristics of forest fires, as most existing disaster-related mobile applications and research assume various disaster situations rather than just forest fire situations. Therefore, a system that can provide information quickly is needed, taking into account the characteristics of forest fires and the limitations of extinguishing work. In this paper, we propose evacuation route guidance services that bypass areas where fire has already spread, supplement existing methods of extinguishing work, and provide general information on forest fire situations in real time, by putting drones into forest fire situations. It has been implemented to automate image analysis using the Rekognition service of Amazon Web Service (AWS), and the results of fire detection and the T Map API guide the evacuation path. It is expected that the results of this paper will allow efficient and rapid rescue and extinguishing work to be carried out, and further reduce the damage of human life caused by forest fires.
Embodying the safety of radioactive waste disposal requires the relevant safety criteria and the corresponding stylized methods to demonstrate its compliance with the criteria. This paper proposes a conceptual model of risk-based safety evaluation for integrating complex potential radiation exposure situations in radioactive waste disposal. For demonstrating compliance with a risk constraint, the approach deals with important exposure scenarios from the viewpoint of the receptor to estimate the resulting risk. For respective exposure situations, it considers the occurrence probabilities of the relevant exposure scenarios as their probability of giving rise to doses to estimate the total risk to a representative person by aggregating the respective risks. In this model, an exposure scenario is simply constructed with three components:radionuclide release, radionuclide migration and environment contamination, and interaction between the contaminated media and the receptor. A set of exposure scenarios and the representative person are established from reasonable combinations of the components, based on a balance of their occurrence probabilities and the consequences. In addition, the probability of an exposure scenario is estimated on the assumption that the initiating external factors influence release mechanisms and transport pathways, and its effect on the interaction between the environment and the receptor may be covered in terms of the representative person. This integrated approach enables a systematic risk assessment for complex exposure situations of radioactive waste disposal and facilitates the evaluation of compliance with risk constraints.
Programs provided by the Korea Association of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation include Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Korean Advanced Life Support (KALS). However, programs pertinent to dental care are lacking. Since 2015, related organizations have been attempting to develop a Dental Advanced Life Support (DALS) program, which can meet the needs of the dental environment. Generally, for initial management of emergency situations, basic life support is most important. However, emergencies in young children mostly involve breathing. Therefore, physicians who treat pediatric dental patients should learn PALS. It is necessary for the physician to regularly renew training every two years to be able to immediately implement professional skills in emergency situations. In order to manage emergency situations in the pediatric dental clinic, respiratory support is most important. Therefore, mastering professional PALS, which includes respiratory care and core cases, particularly upper airway obstruction and respiratory depression caused by a respiratory control problem, would be highly desirable for a physician who treats pediatric dental patients. Regular training and renewal training every two years is absolutely necessary to be able to immediately implement professional skills in emergency situations.

The purposes of this study were 1) to examine the conceptual structure of purchasing situations and affective states, 2) and to fine out the relationships among impulsive buying behavior, purchasing situations, and affective states in boutiques. The questionnaire was completed by 345 boutiques customers in Busan. Demographics showed that the customers were higher educated and had higher incomes than the average consumer in Busan. Data were analysed by factor analysis, and t-test. First, the purchasing situation perceived by boutiques customers consisted of five factors; Crowding, Atmosphere/service, Exhausting/salesman's attire, Display, and Price. The affective states related to the impulsive buying behavior in boutiques composed of three factors; Pleasant, Unpleasant, and Insecure. Second, the impulsive buyer perceived Exhausting/salesman's attire and the pleasant affection in stores higher than the unimpulsive buyer, and the unimpulsive buyer made higher scores than the impulsive buyer in the situation of C개wding, Atmophere/service, and the Unpleasant affection at boutiques. The results showed that impulsive buyer was influenced by purchasing situations and affective states in stores. They provided informations about impulsive buying useful to consumer behavior researchers and retailers related to boutiques.

The aging society increases emergency situations of the elderly living alone and a variety of social crimes. In order to prevent them, techniques to detect emergency situations through voice are actively researched. This study proposes CutPaste-based anomaly detection model using multi-scale feature extraction in time series streaming data. In the proposed method, an audio file is converted into a spectrogram. In this way, it is possible to use an algorithm for image data, such as CNN. After that, mutli-scale feature extraction is applied. Three images drawn from Adaptive Pooling layer that has different-sized kernels are merged. In consideration of various types of anomaly, including point anomaly, contextual anomaly, and collective anomaly, the limitations of a conventional anomaly model are improved. Finally, CutPaste-based anomaly detection is conducted. Since the model is trained through self-supervised learning, it is possible to detect a diversity of emergency situations as anomaly without labeling. Therefore, the proposed model overcomes the limitations of a conventional model that classifies only labelled emergency situations. Also, the proposed model is evaluated to have better performance than a conventional anomaly detection model.
We develop the Spatio-Temporal Graph to imbue the historical context to the situations in a virtual world, and an ontology to enable a structural description of their elements such as the objects, relationships, and activities. In the time dimension the graph models all the temporal phases of the future besides the past and present in a comprehensive manner, and all the spatial aspects in an intuitive but efficient fashion. The overall architecture composing the Physical Layer, Logical Layer and Conceptual Layer which are integrated according to their interrelations allows events occurring in their corresponding worlds to be simulated in historical context. The S-T Graph could be used both to simulate the situations in the virtual world and to realize the knowledge systems of the virtual inhabitants to be used in judging and evaluating those situations. By adding temporal changes to the multi-layered architecture of our virtual world, this model lays a foundation for maximizing the diversity of situations in the simulation of a virtual world.
Objective: This study examined differences in preschoolers' prosocial decision-making, emotion understanding in prosocial dilemmas based on the age and emotional conditions of a counterpart child, and the effects of emotion understanding on preschoolers' prosocial decision-making. Methods: The participants were 114 children (35 3-year-olds, 39 4-year-olds, and 40 5-year-olds). Each child was presented individually with prosocial dilemma tasks and was asked to make decisions and understand emotions (in prosocial and desire-fulfilled situations) based on the emotional conditions of a counterpart child. Results: First, the 4- and 5-year-olds showed more prosocial decision-making in prosocial dilemmas than the 3-year-olds. Prosocial decision-making was significantly lower when the counterpart child was angry, rather than neutral or sadness. Second, in prosocial situations, the 5-year-olds displayed higher positive emotion understanding scores than the 3-year-olds, And in desire-fulfilled situations, the 3-year-olds showed positive emotion understanding, whereas the 4- and 5-year-olds showed negative emotion understanding. Finally, children were more inclined toward prosocial decision-making when they showed higher emotion understanding in prosocial situations, lower emotion understanding in desire-fulfilled situations, and greater age. These were equal to all emotional conditions of the counterpart child. Conclusion: These results suggest that emotion understanding is an important component of social cognition, which effects preschoolers' prosocial decision-making.
In this paper, we develop a Spatio-Temporal graph as of a key component of our knowledge representation Scheme. We design an integrated representation scheme to depict not only present and past but future in parallel with the spaces in an effective and intuitive manner. An event in general occupies not only a space but a time. Hence a crucial premise for the simulation of virtual situations is to position events in the multi-dimensional context, that is, 3-D space extended by the temporal dimension. Furthermore an event tends to have physical, social and mental aspects intertwined. As a result we need diverse information structures and functions to model entities and relations associated with events and to describe situations in different stances or perspectives of the virtual agents. These structures and functions are implemented in terms of integrated and intuitive representation schemes at different levels such as Ontology View, Instance View, ST View, Reality View. The resulting multi-dimensional comprehensive knowledge structure accommodates multi-layered virtual world developing in the time to maximize the diversity of situations in the historical context. The viability of this knowledge representation scheme is demonstrated with a typical scenario applied to a simulator implemented based on the ST Graph. The virtual stage based on the ST graph can be used to provide natural contexts for situated learning or next-generation simulation games.
The purpose of this study is to examine that high school students recognize mathematical situation when they are requested for changing identical mathematics situations into different situations. The results of the study are followings. First, percentage of correct answers to the questions of turning equal mathematical situation into function is higher than the one of turning equal mathematical situation into equation and inequality. As a result of individual interview for comprehensibility of the students on these relations, it is found that if degree goes up and there is different expressions of questionaries although mathematical situation is identical, it affects comprehensibility of the subjects. Second, we found that they cannot understand identical mathematics situations because they have trouble in drawing graph or applying to get the answer while many students understand a point of intersection on the graph as a correct answer. Third, As a result of individual interview for comprehensibility of the students on relation between equation, inequality and function, we found that students manage to get correct answer even without perfect comprehensibility on this relation.
