절개선을 활용한 직물의 신장변화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Elongation Change of Fabric according to the Cutting Lines)

  • To propose a basic material that can improve the crumples in the knee area and can be applied as an element of garment design, the present study examined the elongation rates of the samples by differentiating the number of cutting lines according to the direction of the fabric, and then determined the puckering phenomenon by judging the conditions of the seams based on the looks of seam lines after bi-axil elongation. After the subjective evaluation on the knee areas of both the standard and modified trousers, the following conclusion was drawn : The elongation rates of the samples are: warp (3.98%)cross-legged (-0.2)>squatting down (-0.4); those in the modified trousers feel more comfortable when sitting on a chair (0.2)>cross-legged (0)>squatting down (-0.6). In the cross-legged posture, the modified trousers (0) has higher scores in the subjective evaluation than the standard ones (-0.2). The evaluation on the looks of needleworks in the samples with cutting lines along the direction of the fabric: weft2 (5.0)

한중일의 조도기준 비교분석 : 주택조도기준을 중심으로 (Comparative Analysis on Recommended Levels of Illumination in Korea·China·Japan: Focused on Recommended Levels of Illumination for Housing)

  • This study compared the recommended levels of illumination for housing. KS Recommended Levels of Illumination (KS A 3011) in Korea, Recommended Levels of Illumination (GB 50034-2004) in China and Recommended Levels of Illumination (JIS Z 9110) in Japan are compared. The results are as below. First, recommended levels of illumination used in Korea China Japan are suggested by different locations and activities. However, classification for application scope is set differently. There are 10 areas for classification used in Korea, 5 areas in China, and 13 areas in China. When medium levels for classification are included as classification level, total of 15 areas are used for classification in China. Second, when considering there are 15 areas of application scope in China for recommended levels of illumination, there are 7 areas that are commonly used in Korea China Japan. 7 areas include stadium, factories, hospitals, office, shopping center, houses and hospitals. Third, working surface is considered as the height for recommended levels of illumination in Korea China Japan. Korea and Japan consider all working positions, standing and sitting position, when deciding the height. However, China only considers the standing position. Fourth, application scope for recommended levels of illumination for housing are classified in 16 areas in Korea, 5 in China and 18 in Japan. Thus, the application scope for recommended levels of illumination in housing in Korea is similar to Japan. However, there are only 5 areas used in China such as living room, bedroom, dining room, kitchen and sanitary room. Fifth, recommended levels of illumination is classified in 3 levels such as Lowest-Moderate-Highest while China and Japan only have standard recommended levels of illumination. Sixth, when observing recommended levels of illumination by type of activities, Japan classified the activities in greatest detail followed by Korea and then China. Seventh, Recommended levels of illumination differs by each country.

노인시설 내 공간영역의 통합과 분리측면에서 본 환경적 프라이버시 (The Environmental Privacy on the Perspective of Integration and Segregation of Spatial Areas in Facilities for the Elderly)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the environmental privacy on the perspective of integration and segregation of spatial areas in facilities for the elderly, through investigating required environmental privacy at each hierarchical space, the contextual situation and counterplan for the privacy. For the study, a content analysis for 35 foreign academic journal articles published from 1990 to August of 2013 was conducted. The results of the study were as follows: First, four hierarchical spaces had somewhat integrated characteristics as being required various types of privacy beyond the original features of each space. Especially semi-public and public spaces were needed the privacy similar to in private or semi-private areas. Second, the contextual situation for the privacy was mainly from undesirable access and psychological pressure of other residents, staff and etc. to the residents' personal space, stuff, and behaviors. The other was from no space (no sitting) or no equipments for privacy. Third, the counterplan for privacy was categorized as improvements of physical environments and making defensible space or keeping physical distance of the elderly. It is suggested that welfare of the aged act in Korea about the room capacity for the elderly facilities needs to be reconsidered for the privacy in their individual rooms and the privacy in semi-public and public area must be considered to make the behavior scope of the elderly extended.

Optimal installation of electric vehicle charging stations connected with rooftop photovoltaic (PV) systems: a case study

  • Electric vehicles (EVs) have been growing to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the transportation sector. The increasing number of EVs requires adequate recharging infrastructure, and at the same time, adopts low- or zero-emission electricity production because the GHG emissions are highly dependent on primary sources of electricity production. Although previous research has studied solar photovoltaic (PV) -integrated EV charging stations, it is challenging to optimize spatial areas between where the charging stations are required and where the renewable energy sources (i.e., solar photovoltaic (PV)) are accessible. Therefore, the primary objective of this research is to support decisions of siting EV charging stations using a spatial data clustering method integrated with Geographic Information System (GIS). This research explores spatial relationships of PV power outputs (i.e., supply) and traffic flow (i.e., demand) and tests a community in the state of Indiana, USA for optimal sitting of EV charging stations. Under the assumption that EV charging stations should be placed where the potential electricity production and traffic flow are high to match supply and demand, this research identified three areas for installing EV charging stations powered by rooftop PV in the study area. The proposed strategies will drive the transition of existing energy infrastructure into decentralized power systems. This research will ultimately contribute to enhancing economic efficiency and environmental sustainability by enabling significant reductions in electricity distribution loss and GHG emissions driven by transportation energy.

의복압 분석에 따른 중년 여성의 재킷비교평가 연구 (Comparative Evaluation of Jacket for Middle-aged Women according to Clothing Pressure Analysis)

  • This study was to compare and analyze the clothing pressure according to arms movements of 4 brands jacket for middle-aged women group by measuring clothing pressure of each brand. The results were as follows: 1. According to the analysis of jackets of 4 brands, in general, jacket C had the largest ease amount. while jacket A had a large ease amount in waist, hip areas compared with bust area. Also jacket B had a small ease amount in bust, waist areas and jacket D had a small ease amount in hip areas. Therefore the ease amount is different between each brand, each size even though jacket designs are similar. 2. It was found that clothing pressure was affected by arm movements than jackets. Since this study was limited to the arm movement for motion variation, it was recognized that a significant difference among each jacket and each movement at shoulder, waist parts existed with relation to this motion. 3. Parts showing a significant difference among each size were bust point, abdomen point, center back point of abdomen level, angulus superior scapulae point and center back point of waist level. Also clothing pressure of size B91 was bigger than size B88 except Center back point of waist level. 4. Clothing pressure in shoulder point, front armpit point, back armpit point, upper arm point areas increased as the angle of the arms movement increased. Also, individual variation of clothing pressure in front armpit point, back armpit point, armpit point and upper arm point was large, and clothing pressure in abdomen point was high in M5(sitting posture).

소형차에서의 여성 특화 패키지 인자 연구 (A Study on Women's Specific Package Factors for Compact Vehicle)

  • To develop a compact vehicle for women, the most important areas are 'behavioral characteristics, life style and driving posture'. Static AM95%ile manikin is used for package guideline. Since women's characteristics and sitting position are different from men, however, the guideline cannot satisfy women drivers. Therefore, the goal of this study is to make the database with dynamic women's driving posture and behavioral characteristics at compact vehicle. Research process will be made as follows. Firstly, through the online/offline survey and statistic analysis, lifestyle and behavioral characteristics (discomfort elements) of women are extracted. Secondly, the author performs scenario test to acquire the discomfort value of driving situation and life style. 3D models of women's manikin and driving posture were created by CATIA HUMAN. The 3D models are used for the purpose of analyzing women's driving posture. Finally, with the ANOVA result and comparison between real driving posture and package guidelines, the author is able to suggest the main issue for women drivers.

  • The chairbound, handicapped person often requires a cushion to distribute the supportive forces over the largest area possible in order to reduce the risk of the development of a pressure sore. Pressure sores are areas of damaged skin caused by staying in one position for too long and can cause serious infections, some of which are life-threatening. When sitting upright, the greatest proportion of body weight is centerd over the ischial tuberosities. So, it is important that comfortable seating and largest distribution of pressure to prevent pressure sores. Therefore, the objective of this study was to develop the physical pressure measurement device and orthodontic chair to prevent pressure sores.

부산지역 일부 국민학교 학동들의 체격종합치에 관한 조사 (A Survey on the Physical Integrated Value of Primary School Students on Busan Area)

  • 저자는 1970년부터 1975년까지 6 년갑에 걸쳐 부산지역 국민학교 학생들의 신체발육상태를 평가하고져 무작위로 추출한 부산시 모 국민학교 학생 656명(남 374, 여 282)을 대상으로 그들의 실제 신체체격 측정을 통하여 과거 6 년 동안의 신체발육상태를 조사 분석하여 다음의 결론을 얻었다. (1) 신장의 연간 최대성장연령은 남자$7{\sim}8$세 (5.9cm), 여자 $10{\sim}11$세 (6.5cm)이었고 남녀 신장발육곡선은 $10{\sim}11$세에서 서로 교차하였다. (2) 체중의 연간 최대성장연령은 남자 $9{\sim}10$세(3.1kg), 여자 $10{\sim}11$세 (3.9kg)이었고 남녀체중발육 곡선은 $10{\sim}11$세에서 서로 교차하였다. (3) 흉위의 연간 최대성장연령은 남자 $8{\sim}9$세(3.1cm), 여자 $9{\sim}10$세 (2.9cm)이었고 전자와는 달리 남녀 융위발육곡선은 서로 교차하지 않았다. 4. 좌고의 연간 최대성장연령은 남녀 모두 $6{\sim}7$세 (남 3.3cm, 여 3.4cm)이었고 남너 좌고발육곡선은 $8{\sim}9$세에서 서로 교차하였다. (5) 각 지역간의 비교에는 각각의 신체계측치를 체격종합치 (Physical Integrated Ualue)로서 서로 비교하는 것이 매우 간편하고 바람직 하였으며 한국소아 신체표준발육치에 대한 부산지역 국민학교 학동들의 체격종합치 (Physical Integrated Value)는 남여 각각 신장 +0.30, +0.29, 체중 +0.33, +0.35 흉위 +0.65, +0.57, 좌고 +0.10, +0.20으로 서울을 제외한 타지역 (대구, 대전, 농촌지역)에 비하여 비교적 우수하였다.

중국계 동남아인(華人) 주거에 관한 연구 -말레이시아와 싱가포르 사례를 중심으로- (A Study on Chinese Southeast Asian housing -Cases in Malaysia and Singapore-)

  • The region of Southeast Asia had already experienced rapid urbanization and cultural change before the East Asia region did. None the less, nowadays shophouses and rowhouses still form the major portion of streets in Chinese town in Southeast Asia countries. The purpose of this study is to examine the adaptation process of shophouse and rowhouse in the Southeast Asia region and the architectural characteristics between the middle of 18th and the early of 20th, which Chinese people of the region inherit and develop, for more thorough understanding of cultural adaptability and regionalism of Chinese architecture in Southeast Asia. The common fact found in the Southeast Asia region is that Chinese people in countries of this region gradually started to live densely as a group in a certain zone in city area since they got to play important roles in commerce, trade and service works related with cities, due to European countries' advance into Southeast Asia and their construction of colonial cities in the region. Chinese people in the region utilized residential rowhouse and special shophouse, which is a kind of shop adapted from rowhouses' sitting room or storage, for their commercial and industrial activities in urban areas, which had problems of limited space. They also realized high densities through vertical expansion of space in order to adjust to changing urban structure under execution of urban planning in cities of colonial area and rapid urbanization. Even though residence of Chinese in Southeast Asia was influenced by new political, social, economic and cultural rules of European colonies in Southeast Asia, it has continuously succeeded to the cultural tradition of China, their home country, in terms of planning principle which puts air well in the middle and hierarchial spacial construction method. Appearance of the open connected verandah, designed by Stamford Raffles, the founder of Singapore, can be regarded as one of the architectural characters. Hence, Chinese residence in cities of Southeast Asia can be understood as a new regional architectural culture in the context of European countries' urban planning and urbanization of colonial areas, Immigrants from southern China and their role, their adjustment to urban areas by utilizing mixed type houses of residence and business, cultural tradition of Chinese home country.

Observations on Normal Body Temperatures in Differently Climate Conditions

  • In order to know the characteristics of circadian rhythms in core temperature in tropical inhabitants, we measured rectal temperatures every 10 min for 24 hrs in 6 Vietnamese, 20 - 22 yrs (5 males and I females) under natural conditions. Average light intensity was 16000 lx. Ambient temperatures ranged from 33 to 36 oC. These data obtained were compared with those in Japanese setters and the Polish inhabitants. The participants were sitting mostly during wakefulness and lying in bed during sleep. The results obtained are summarized as follows: I) The average maximum value was 37.7 oC, which was significantly higher than in the Japanese and Polish as well. 2) The average minimum value was 36.4 oC, which was also lower. 3) A range of oscillation was 1.3 oC, which was clearly greater than in the people living in the temperate areas. The higher maximum value of core temperature, which was actively regulated under warm temperature, seemed of adaptive significance in order to reduce water consumption. A greater rage of oscillation in tropical Vietnamese people might have ecological significance for efficient acclimatization in the environment with strong light intensity and high ambient temperature, suggesting that the setpoint of core temperature could show a greater range of oscillation.
