Since the residential load is an AC load, while the output of solar cell is a DC power, the photovoltaic system needs the DC/AC converter to utilize solar cell and must provide the sinusoidal wave current and voltage with unity power factor in the case of driving to Interact with utility line. It is always necessary for the output of solar cell to operate in the vicinity of maximum power point, since it is greatly fluctuated by insolation. This paper treats that we will constitute a single phase PWM voltage source inverter and trace the modulation index which always maximize the output of solar cell in propotion to insolation variation and prove it by simulation that we can provide current wave, which is nearly sinusoidal wave with unity power factor, for load and utility line.
The rapid technology developments in smartphones have created a significant opportunity for their use in structural live load measurements. This paper presents extensive experiments conducted in two stages to investigate this opportunity. Shaking table tests were carried out in the first stage using selected popular smartphones to measure the sinusoidal waves of various frequencies, the sinusoidal sweeping, and earthquake waves. Comparison between smartphone measurements and real inputs showed that the smartphones used in this study gave reliable measurements for harmonic waves in both time and frequency domains. For complex waves, smartphone measurements should be used with caution. In the second stage, three-dimensional motion capture technology was employed to explore the capacity of smartphones for measuring the movement of individuals in walking, bouncing and jumping activities. In these tests, reflective markers were attached to the test subject. The markers' trajectories were recorded by the motion capture system and were taken as references. The smartphone measurements agreed well with the references when the phone was properly fixed. Encouraged by these experimental validation results, smartphones were attached to moving participants of this study. The phones measured the acceleration near the center-of-mass of his or her body. The human-induced loads were then reconstructed by the acceleration measurements in conjunction with a biomechanical model. Satisfactory agreement between the reconstructed forces and that measured by a force plate was observed in several instances, clearly demonstrating the capability of smartphones to accurately assist in obtaining human-induced load measurements.

The dynamic instability for snapping phenomena has been studied by many researchers. Few paper deal with the dynamic buckling under the load with periodic characteristics, and the behavior under periodic excitation is expected the different behavior against STEP excitation. We investigate the fundamental mechanisms of the dynamic instability when the sinusoidal shaped arch structures are subjected to sinusoidal harmonic excitation with pin-ends. By using Newmark- β method, we can get the nonlinear displacement response, and using this analyze characteristics of the dynamic instability through the running response spectrum by FFT(Fast Fourier Transform).

This paper presents the sinusoidal tracking controller in error to eliminate the steady state control error and to improve the transient characteristics for input current in voltage source PWM converter with input current estimation. The estimation method of input current values and configuration of controller are described. DC output voltage is controlled by PI controller, and sinusoidal tracking current controller which tracks directly AC input current is used as input current controller. The sinusoidal tracking current controller can be used without any coordinate transformation algorithms. It is proved that the steady state deviation of input current reduces to zero and the proposed control system is not affected by input voltage from transfer functions of input current control system. The validity of proposed scheme is verified by simulations and experimental results for load resister and input voltage variation.
Major engineering requirements and technological developments in the steel construction industry are discussed to support a new innovative system, namely corrugated web beams, for future structural projections. These new-generation steel beams, fabricated as welded plate girders with corrugated webs, are designed to combine large spans with very low weight. In the present study, the flexural capacity of optimally designed trapezoidal and sinusoidal corrugated web beams was aimed at. For this purpose, the new metaheuristic methods, specifically hunting search and firefly algorithms, were used for the minimum weight design of both beams according to the rules of Eurocode EN 1193 15 and DASt-Ri 015. In addition, the strengthening effects of the corrugation geometry at the web posts on the load capacity of fabricated steel beams were tested in a reaction frame. The experimental tests displayed that the lateral capacity of trapezoidal web beams is more durable under flexural loads compared to sinusoidal web beams. These thin-walled beams were also simulated using a 3-D finite element model with plane strain to validate test results and describe the effectiveness of the ABAQUS software.

In this research, the buckling and free vibration of three-phase carbon nanotubes/ fiber/ polymer piezoelectric nanocomposite face sheet sandwich microbeam with microsensor and micro-actuator surrounded in elastic foundation based on modified couple stress theory (MCST) is investigated. Three types of porous materials are considered for sandwich core. Higher order (Reddy) and sinusoidal shear deformation beam theories are employed for the displacement fields. Sinusoidal surface stress effects are extracted for sinusoidal shear deformation beam theory. The equations of motion are derived by Hamilton's principle and then the natural frequency and critical buckling load are obtained by Navier's type solution. The determined results are in good agreement with other literatures. The detailed numerical investigation for various parameters is performed for this microsensor-microactuator. The results reveal that the microsensor-microactuator enhanced by increasing of Skempton coefficient, carbon nanotubes diameter length to thickness ratio, small scale factor, elastic foundation, surface stress constants and reduction in porous coefficient, micro-actuator voltage and CNT weight fraction. The valuable results can be expedient for micro-electro-mechanical (MEMS) and nano-electro-mechanical (NEMS) systems.

In this study, finite element analyses of crack propagation along a sinusoidal interface are performed by using cohesive elements. BK law is used for cohesive zone to consider mixed mode traction-separation relation at the crack tip on a sinusoidal interface of a double cantilever beam specimen. The shape of a sinusoidal interface crack and the cohesive strength and the cohesive energies in mixed mode cohesive laws are varied in numerical experiments, and load-displacement curves at the ends of a double cantilever beam specimen are obtained to investigate the crack propagation behavior along a sinusoidal interface.
Because of sandwich structures with low weight and high stiffness have much usage in various industries such as civil and aerospace engineering, in this article, buckling and free vibration analyses of coupled micro composite sandwich plates are investigated based on sinusoidal shear deformation (SSDT) and most general strain gradient theories (MGSGT). It is assumed that the sandwich structure rested on an orthotropic elastic foundation and make of four composite face sheets with temperature-dependent material properties that they reinforced by carbon and boron nitride nanotubes and two flexible transversely orthotropic cores. Mathematical formulation is presented using Hamilton's principle and governing equations of motions are derived based on energy approach and applying variation method for simply supported edges under electro-magneto-thermo-mechanical, axial buckling and pre-stresses loadings. In order to predict the effects of various parameters such as material length scale parameter, length to width ratio, length to thickness ratio, thickness of face sheets to core thickness ratio, nanotubes volume fraction, pre-stress load and orthotropic elastic medium on the natural frequencies and critical buckling load of double-bonded micro composite sandwich plates. It is found that orthotropic elastic medium has a special role on the system stability and increasing Winkler and Pasternak constants lead to enhance the natural frequency and critical buckling load of micro plates, while decrease natural frequency and critical buckling load with increasing temperature changes. Also, it is showed that pre-stresses due to help the axial buckling load causes that delay the buckling phenomenon. Moreover, it is concluded that the sandwich structures with orthotropic cores have high stiffness, but because they are not economical, thus it is necessary the sandwich plates reinforce by carbon or boron nitride nanotubes specially, because these nanotubes have important thermal and mechanical properties in comparison of the other reinforcement.
In the current study, the influence of the initial lateral (sweep) shape and the cross-sectional twist imperfection on the lateral torsional buckling (LTB) response of doubly-symmetric steel I-beams was investigated. The material imperfection (residual stress) was not considered. For this objective, standard European IPN 300 beam with different unbraced span was numerically analyzed for three imperfection cases: (i) no sweep and no twist (perfect); (ii) three different shapes of global sweep (half-sine, full-sine and full-parabola between the end supports); and (iii) the combination of three different sweeps with initial sinusoidal twist along the beam. The first comparison was done between the results of numerical analyses (FEM) and both a theoretical solution and the code lateral torsional buckling formulations (EC3 and AISC-LRFD). These results with no imperfection effects were then separately compared with three different shapes of global sweep and the presence of initial twist in these sweep shapes. Besides, the effects of the shapes of initial global sweep and the inclusion of sinusoidal twist on the critical buckling load of the beams were investigated to unveil which parameter was considerably effective on LTB response. The most compatible outcomes for the perfect beams was obtained from the AISC-LRFD formulation; however, the EC-3 formulation estimated the $P_{cr}$ load conservatively. The high difference from the EC-3 formulation was predicted to directly originate from the initial imperfection reduction factor and high safety factor in its formulation. Due to no consideration of geometric imperfection in the AISC-LFRD code solution and the theoretical formulation, the need to develop a practical imperfection reduction factor for AISC-LRFD and theoretical formulation was underlined. Initial imperfections were obtained to be more influential on the buckling load, as the unbraced length of a beam approached to the elastic limit unbraced length ($L_r$). Mode-compatible initial imperfection shapes should be taken into account in the design and analysis stages of the I-beam to properly estimate the geometric imperfection influence on the $P_{cr}$ load. Sweep and sweep-twist imperfections led to 10% and 15% decrease in the $P_{cr}$ load, respectively, thus; well-estimated sweep and twist imperfections should considered in the LTB of doubly-symmetric steel I-beams.
This paper presents a new control scheme for a three-phase split DC-link capacitor inverter as an AC power supplies. The proposed control method can maintain the balanced sinusoidal output voltage under unbalanced and nonlinear load conditions. The validity of the control method has been verified by simulation results.
