In an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing system, conventional interpolation techniques cannot correctly balance performance and overhead when estimating dynamic long-delay channels in single frequency networks (SFNs). In this study, classical filter analysis and design methods are employed to derive a complex interpolator for maximizing the resistible echo delay in a channel estimator on the basis of the correlation between frequency domain interpolating and time domain windowing. The coefficient computation of the complex interpolator requires a key parameter, i.e., channel length, which is obtained in the frequency domain with a tentative estimation scheme having low implementation complexity. The proposed complex adaptive interpolator is verified in a simulated digital video broadcasting for terrestrial/handheld receiver. The simulation results indicate that the designed channel estimator can not only handle SFN echoes with more than $200{\mu}s$ delay but also achieve a bit-error rate performance close to the optimum minimum mean square error method, which significantly outperforms conventional channel estimation methods, while preserving a low implementation cost in a short-delay channel.

After some period of time, the marine traffic facilities find problems caused by shellfish adhered to inside and inlet of the water column. Therefore, single-channel AFS(Anti-Fouling System) has been applied in order to minimize the deposition of shellfish. However, imbalance phenomenon of ionization of copper electrodes that are used for single-channel AFS appeared. This problem resulted in frequent replacement of anode. In this paper, multi-channel current control system has been developed, as well as the related hardware has been designed and fabricated. Further, experimental study has been undertaken to compare the application of single and multi- channel AFS. Through the sea experiments, it was possible to confirm that the copper electrode used for multi-channel AFS is uniformly ionized.
Recently, the proliferation of mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet personal computers and the development of information communication technologies (ICT) have led to a big trend of a shift from single-channel shopping to multi-channel shopping. With the emergence of a "smart" group of consumers who want to shop in more reasonable and convenient ways, the boundaries apparently dividing online and offline shopping have collapsed and blurred more than ever before. Thus, there is now fierce competition between online and offline channels. Ever since the emergence of online shopping, a major type of multi-channel shopping has been "showrooming," where consumers visit offline stores to examine products before buying them online. However, because of the growing use of smart devices and the counterattack of offline retailers represented by omni-channel marketing strategies, one of the latest huge trends of shopping is "webrooming," where consumers visit online stores to examine products before buying them offline. This has become a threat to online retailers. In this situation, although it is very important to examine the influencing factors for switching from online shopping to webrooming, most prior studies have mainly focused on a single- or multi-channel shopping pattern. Therefore, this study thoroughly investigated the influencing factors on customers switching from online shopping to webrooming in terms of both the "search" and "purchase" processes through the application of a push-pull-mooring (PPM) framework. In order to test the research model, 280 individual samples were gathered from undergraduate and graduate students who had actual experience with webrooming. The results of the structural equation model (SEM) test revealed that the "pull" effect is strongest on the webrooming intention rather than the "push" or "mooring" effects. This proves a significant relationship between "attractiveness of webrooming" and "webrooming intention." In addition, the results showed that both the "perceived risk of online search" and "perceived risk of online purchase" significantly affect "distrust of online shopping." Similarly, both "perceived benefit of multi-channel search" and "perceived benefit of offline purchase" were found to have significant effects on "attractiveness of webrooming" were also found. Furthermore, the results indicated that "online purchase habit" is the only influencing factor that leads to "online shopping lock-in." The theoretical implications of the study are as follows. First, by examining the multi-channel shopping phenomenon from the perspective of "shopping switching" from online shopping to webrooming, this study complements the limits of the "channel switching" perspective, represented by multi-channel freeriding studies that merely focused on customers' channel switching behaviors from one to another. While extant studies with a channel switching perspective have focused on only one type of multi-channel shopping, where consumers just move from one particular channel to different channels, a study with a shopping switching perspective has the advantage of comprehensively investigating how consumers choose and navigate among diverse types of single- or multi-channel shopping alternatives. In this study, only limited shopping switching behavior from online shopping to webrooming was examined; however, the results should explain various phenomena in a more comprehensive manner from the perspective of shopping switching. Second, this study extends the scope of application of the push-pull-mooring framework, which is quite commonly used in marketing research to explain consumers' product switching behaviors. Through the application of this framework, it is hoped that more diverse shopping switching behaviors can be examined in future research. This study can serve a stepping stone for future studies. One of the most important practical implications of the study is that it may help single- and multi-channel retailers develop more specific customer strategies by revealing the influencing factors of webrooming intention from online shopping. For example, online single-channel retailers can ease the distrust of online shopping to prevent consumers from churning by reducing the perceived risk in terms of online search and purchase. On the other hand, offline retailers can develop specific strategies to increase the attractiveness of webrooming by letting customers perceive the benefits of multi-channel search or offline purchase. Although this study focused only on customers switching from online shopping to webrooming, the results can be expanded to various types of shopping switching behaviors embedded in single- and multi-channel shopping environments, such as showrooming and mobile shopping.
This paper proposes a PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) circuit using CMOS OTA with a single-voltage supply. The OTA employed has an input stage which consists of a pair of two MOSFETs operating in plural operation regions. The MOSFETs work complemetarily and realize a rail-to-rail input range. The input stage requires no matching of an n-channel type input circuit and a p-channel type input circuit unlike conventional rail-to-rail input stages because the input stage is realized by single channel type MOSFETs. In order to confirm the validity of the proposed circuit, it is simulated by H-SPICE program. Futhermore, the proposed circuit will be integrated on chip using 0.35 $\mu\textrm{m}$ CMOS technology.
Wireless communication chipsets have fixed transmission rate and communication distance. Although there are many kinds of chipsets with throughput and distance purpose, they cannot support various types of wireless applications. This paper provides theoretic research results in order to support various wireless applications requiring different throughput, delayed quality-of-service (QoS), and different communication distances by using a wireless communication chipset with fixed rate and transmission power. As a performance metric, the probability for a data frame that successfully receives at a desired receiver is adopted. Based on this probability, the average number of transmission in order to make a successful frame transmission is derived. Equations are utilized to analyze the performance of a single-hop with channel coding and a dual-hop without error correction matter transmission system. Our results revealed that single-hop transmission assisted by channel coding could extend its communication distance. However, communication range extending effect of the single-hop system was limited. Accordingly, dual-hop transmission is needed to overcome the communication distance limit of a chipset.
This paper addresses the problem of single-channel speech separation to extract the speech signal uttered by the speaker of interest from a mixture of speech signals. We propose to apply time-frequency smoothing to the existing statistical single-channel speech separation algorithms: The soft mask and the minimum-mean-square-error (MMSE) algorithms. In the proposed method, we use the two smoothing later. One is the uniform mask filter whose filter length is uniform at the time-Sequency domain, and the other is the met-scale filter whose filter length is met-scaled at the time domain. In our speech separation experiments, the uniform mask filter improves speaker-to-interference ratio (SIR) by 2.1dB and 1dB for the soft mask algorithm and the MMSE algorithm, respectively, whereas the mel-scale filter achieves 1.1dB and 0.8dB for the same algorithms.
A linear-prediction-based blind equalization algorithm for single-input single-output (SISO) finite impulse response/infinite impulse response (FIR/IIR) channels is proposed. The new algorithm is based on second-order statistics, and it does not require channel order estimation. By oversampling the channel output, the SISO channel model is converted to a special single-input multiple-output (SIMO) model. Two forward linear predictors with consecutive prediction delays are applied to the subchannel outputs of the SIMO model. It is demonstrated that the partial parameters of the SIMO model can be estimated from the difference between the prediction errors when the length of the predictors is sufficiently large. The sufficient filter length for achieving the optimal prediction is also derived. Based on the estimated parameters, both batch and adaptive minimum-mean-square-error equalizers are developed. The performance of the proposed equalizers is evaluated by computer simulations and compared with existing algorithms.
We present a new technique for achieving source separation when given only a single channel recording. The main idea is based on exploiting the inherent time structure of sound sources by learning a priori sets of time-domain basis functions that encode the sources in a statistically efficient manner. We derive a learning algorithm using a maximum likelihood approach given the observed single channel data and sets of basis functions. For each time point we infer the source parameters and their contribution factors. This inference is possible due to the prior knowledge of the basis functions and the associated coefficient densities. A flexible model for density estimation allows accurate modeling of the observation, and our experimental results exhibit a high level of separation performance for simulated mixtures as well as real environment recordings employing mixtures of two different sources. We show separation results of two music signals as well as the separation of two voice signals.

In this paper an optical power meter using Hadamard transform, which can be used in multiple channel optical elements alignment system, is proposed. A traditional optical power meter in multiple channel optical elements alignment system is able to judge how well the elements are aligned each other by measuring optical power of the first and the last two channels with at least two detectors. It has critical drawback that the alignment accuracy per channel is dependent on the number of detectors. The proposed optical power meter can get noise reduction by the Hadamard transform based multiplexing technique. The Hadamard transform based multiplexing technique using spatial light modulators is distinguished by the best enhancement of signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) for the reconstructed signals. Moreover, the noise reduction increases with increasing the order of multiplexing, namely the number of optical element channels. The proposed system is implemented by PDLC (Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal) mask which is operated by electric filed and generates optimal multiplexing patterns based on the Hadamard transform and single detector. It means that we obtain not only the each channel's optical power of multiple channel elements at once but also the best enhancement of SNR with single detector. Experimental results show that the proposed optical power meter is suitable for an active optical alignment system for multiple channel optical elements.

In this paper, the parameters of the RTT (Radio Transmission Techniques) for SANET (Ship Ad-hoc NETwork), which is considered for the next generation maritime communication systems, are set up. A channel model has been analyzed based on the practical measured maritime wireless channel in VHF (Very-High Frequency) for SANET system. Also, by considering the frame structure including preamble, guard time and pilots for both single and multi-carrier systems, the BER (Bit Error Rate) performances are evaluated and analyzed in the aspects of channel compensation and channel coding techniques. Based on the simulation results, optimal modulation & coding schemes are suggested for SANET. That is, in single-carrier system by using differential modulation schemes, channel compensation is not necessary. However, channel coding is helpful to achieve additional gain. On the other hand, when 16-QAM modulation is employed in multi-carrier system, the implementation of both channel compensation and channel coding techniques show huge performance gain for various of K values, which are related to different maritime environments, and the rolling effects of wave.
