  • Recently, the installation of photovoltaic(PV) systems has been increasing due to the worldwide interest in eco-friendly and abundant solar energy. On the other hand, a PV system has approximately 25% power loss while the energy generated from solar cells is transformed to the power coupling point through a power conversion system (DC/AC). If the output voltage of a string in the PV system is lower than the operating range of the inverter when a part of module in the string has a shadow due to weather conditions, the string is not synchronized and the whole efficiency of output power in a PV system may be reduced significantly. Therefore, to overcome this problem, this paper proposes a novel control method to compensate for the lower voltage by introducing a DC/DC voltage regulator for each string in a PV system, which adopts a concept for MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) control function using the P&O algorithm and adopts constant voltage control method used in an existing inverter. This paper also implements a 2kW DC/DC voltage regulator based on the proposed algorithm and performs a variety of scenario-based experiments. From the simulation result, it was confirmed that the operation efficiency in the proposed method is improved compared to the existing method.

  • Owing to its fast computing capability for fusing images, the FIHS(Fast Intensity Hue Saturation) fusion is widely used for fusion purposes. However, the FIHS fusion also distorts color in the same way such as the IHS(Intensity Hue Saturation) fusion technique. In this paper, a FIHS fusion technique(FIHS-BR) which reduces color distortion by using the ratio of each spectral band and an adaptive FIHS fusion(FIHS-SABR) using spatial information and the ratio of each spectral band are proposed. The proposed FIHS-BR fusion reduces color distortion by adding different spatial detail improvement values for each spectral band. The spatial detail improvement values are derived from the ratio of spectral band. And the proposed FIHS-SABR fusion reduces more color distortion by readjusting the spatial detail improvement values for each spectral band according to the ratio of the spectral bands. The spatial detail improvement values are derived adaptively from the characteristics of spatial information of the local image. To evaluate the performance of the proposed FIHS-BR fusion and FIHS-SABR fusion, a computer simulation is performed for IKONOS remote sensing image. Results from the experiments show that the proposed methods have less color distortion for the forest regions which reveal severe color distortion in the traditional FIHS fusion. From the evaluation results of the characteristics of spectral information for fused image, we show that the proposed methods have best results.

  • We have studied to obtain the SAW filter for the passband was formed on the Langasite substrate and was evaporated by Aluminum-Copper alloy and thin we performed computer-simulated by simulator. We cm fabricate that the block weighted type IDT as an input transducer of the filter and the withdrawal weighted type IDT as an output transducer of the filter from the results of our computer-simulation. Also, we have performed to obtain the properly design conditions about phase shift of the SAW filter for WCDMA. We have employed that the number of pairs of the input and output IDT are 50 pairs and the thickness and the width of reflector are $5000\;{\AA}$ and $3.6{\mu}m$ respectively. And we have employed that the distances from the hot electrode to the reflector are $2.0{\mu}m$, $2.4{\mu}m$ and the distance from the hot electrode to the ground is $1.5{\mu}m$ respectively. Frequency response of the fabricated SAW filter has the property that the center frequency is about 190MHz and bandwidth at the 3dB is probably 7,8MHz. And we could obtain that return loss is less then -18dB, ripple characteristics is probably 3dB and triple transit echo is less then -25dB after when we have matched impedance.

  • Hazardous and Noxious Substances (HNS) are defined as substances that are likely to create a significant impact on human health and marine ecosystem when they are released into the marine environment. Recently, as the volume of HNS transported by ships increases, the rate of leakage accidents also increases. Therefore, research should be conducted to control and monitor sunken materials from the viewpoint of technology development for hazardous material leakage accident response. In this paper, acoustic detection experiments were carried out using HNS substitute materials in order to confirm the possibility of acoustic detection of sunken HNS on the sediment. The castor oil, which has a similar acoustic impedance with chloroform, is used as a substitute. 200 kHz high frequency signals were used to discriminate the reflected signals and measure reflection loss from the interface between water and castor oil. The reflection loss measured is in good agreement with the modeling results, showing a possibility of acoustic detection for sunken HNS.

  • In this paper, we propose a new structured entity recognition DeNERT model. Recently, the field of natural language processing has been actively researched using pre-trained language representation models with a large amount of corpus. In particular, the named entity recognition, which is one of the fields of natural language processing, uses a supervised learning method, which requires a large amount of training dataset and computation. Reinforcement learning is a method that learns through trial and error experience without initial data and is closer to the process of human learning than other machine learning methodologies and is not much applied to the field of natural language processing yet. It is often used in simulation environments such as Atari games and AlphaGo. BERT is a general-purpose language model developed by Google that is pre-trained on large corpus and computational quantities. Recently, it is a language model that shows high performance in the field of natural language processing research and shows high accuracy in many downstream tasks of natural language processing. In this paper, we propose a new named entity recognition DeNERT model using two deep learning models, DQN and BERT. The proposed model is trained by creating a learning environment of reinforcement learning model based on language expression which is the advantage of the general language model. The DeNERT model trained in this way is a faster inference time and higher performance model with a small amount of training dataset. Also, we validate the performance of our model's named entity recognition performance through experiments.

  • A 3D model was developed to calculate the UV intensity of a submerged-type UV disinfection reactor. Numerical experiments were conducted by inputting the design factors of an open channel-type disinfection reactor and a pipe-type disinfection reactor that were installed in an actual sewage treatment plant. The following data were obtained: The average UV intensity of the installed open channel-type reactor and pipe-type reactor was 7.87 mW/cm2 and 13.09 mW/cm2, respectively; the UV dose reflecting the UV irradiation time and taking into account attenuation effects such as mixing imbalance, lamp aging, temperature, and fouling, was expected to be 21.1 mJ/cm2 and 24.8 mJ/cm2, respectively, and these values are 5 % and 24 % higher than the target UV dose of 20 mJ/cm2, respectively. By using the UV3D model, the optimal lamp position, which maximizes the average UV intensity without changing the size of the disinfection reactor or lamp output power, can be found. In this case, by only adjusting the lamp position, the average UV intensity can be increased by 0.9 % for the open channel-type and 0.5 % for the pipe-type, respectively. A better average UV intensity can be obtained by model simulation. By adjusting the horizontal and vertical ratio of the open channel-type reactor and by moving the lamp position, the average UV intensity can be increased by 7.4 % more than the present case.

  • The Forward Collision Warning, a representative technology of the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, was selected as the target technology. The cognitive response time, deceleration, and impact were selected as the measures of effectiveness. And the amount of change with and without the Forward Collision Warning was measured. The experimental scenarios included a sudden stop event (1) of the vehicle in front of the driver and an event (2) in which the vehicle intervened in the next lane. All experiments were divided into day and night. As a result of the analysis, response time and the deceleration rate decreased when the forward collision warning system was installed. It was analyzed that the driver's risk situation could be detected quickly and the number of front-end collisions could be reduced as a result. Reflecting the driver's operating habits and diversifying the experimental scenarios will increase the installation effectiveness of ADAS and be used to estimate the effectiveness of other technologies.

  • Numerical analysis was done to evaluate the chemical reaction and the reduction rate inside of selective non-catalytic reduction to denitrification in combustion process. The $NO_X$ reduction in selective non-catalytic reduction is converted to not only nitrogen but also nitrous oxide. Simultaneous $NO_X$ reduction and nitrous oxide generation suppressing is required in selective non-catalytic reduction because nitrous oxide influences the global warming as a greenhouse gas. The current study was performed compare the computational analysis in the same temperature and amount of NaOH, and in comparison with the previous research experiments and confirmed the reliability of the computational fluid dynamics. Additionally, controlling the addition amount of NaOH to predict the $NO_X$ reduction efficiency and nitrous oxide production. Numerical analysis was done to check the mass fraction of each material in the measurement point at the end of selective non-catalytic reduction. Experimental Value and simulation value by numerical analysis showed an error of up to 18.9% was confirmed that a generally well predicted. and it was confirmed that the widened temperature range of more than 70% $NO_X$ removal rate is increased when the addition amount of NaOH. So, large and frequent changes of the reaction temperature waste incineration facilities are expected to be effective.

  • In December 2017, many collision accidents of small vessels, such as those between oil refineries and fishing boats, occurred near Yeonghung-do in Incheon. In order to prevent marine casualties from small vessels, the government is striving to improve the safety capabilities of ship operators by strengthening education and improving the working environment. They are providing education and refining training regulations for fishermen operating vessels under 5 tons. However, the situation includes certain vulnerabilities. In this study, we propose a collision prevention algorithm for small vessels using the Wireless Access in Vehicular Environments (WAVE) communication system, which is a new communication technique to prevent collisions with small ships. The collision avoidance algorithm used is based on DCPA/TCPA. Research analyses, simulation experiments and questionnaires have been conducted to define the criteria of DCPA/TCPA. As a result, the standard for DCPA was $8(L_a+L_b)$ and for TCPA was 2.5 min. Three different accident cases were selected, and this algorithm was applied to confirm alarm responses at certain times. This algorithm can provide information to the operators of small ships in advance to help them recognize potential collision situations.

  • In this study, we investigated the effects of five EMS lumbar back pressure belts produced on an anatomical basis on lumbar spine stabilization. Five core muscles were selected, including the urinal, vertebral column, endotracheal, external abdominal, and large back muscles, and patterns were designed using a conductive fabric considering the appropriate muscle shape and pain-causing points. We experimented with four motions to examine the effects of different EMS abdominal compression belts on lumbar spine stabilization. Five healthy men in their 20s were selected. The selection conditions include no back pain history for the past three months, no restricted movements through pre-inspection, and the muscular strength of the body should belong to the normal grade. Using SLR, the sequence of experimental actions was chosen from the following but not limited to left-hand, body-hand, and back-line forces. Resting between movements lasted for 2 min, and the experiments were conducted after wearing the EMS abdominal pressure belt. Electrical stimulation was applied for 10 min to increase blood flow and muscle activation. The statistics of the experimental results were analyzed for specific differences by conducting the Wilcoxon and Friedman tests with nonparametric tests. The ranking results of each pattern were successfully assessed in the order of 5, 4, 3, 1, 2 for the five patterns, and we could identify slightly more significant results for experimental behavior associated with each muscle movement. Patterns produced based on anatomy showed differentiated effects when electric stimulation was applied to each muscle in different shapes, which could improve the stabilization of the lumbar spine in everyday life or training to the public. Based on these results, subsequent research would focus on developing smart healthcare clothing that is practical in daily life by employing different anatomical mechanisms, depending on the back pain, to utilize trunk-type tights.
