다점용접이음의 피로 시험과 해석 (Fatigue Test and Analysis of Multi-point Spot Welded Joints)

  • In real structure, multi-point spot welded joints are more frequently used than a single-point spot welded joint. Most researches, however, have been focused to a single-point spot welded joint until now. In this paper, the fatigue behavior of multi-point spot welded joints are investigated both experimentally and analytically using the finite elements. The local strain approach is used rather than the stress intensity factor approach to estimate the fatigue life since the former is quite simple and straightforward. It is found that the fatigue behavior of multi-point spot welded joints is different from that of single-point spot welded joints. The local strain approach is still applicable to multi-point spot welded joints.

  • It is important to identify and evaluate poor working postures properly to prevent work-related musculoskeletal disorders. The purpose of this study is to develope a new upper body micropostural classification scheme for analyzing postural stress in industry. Most of the existing postural classification schemes were based either on the literature, or on simple biomechanical principles, or on a subjective ranking system. The scheme suggested in this study was based on perceived joint discomfort measured through experiment, in which nineteen subjects participated and the magnitude estimation method was employed to obtain subjects' joint discomfort. Also, the criteria for evaluating postural stress of working postures were presented for practitioners of health and safety to be able to redesign working methods and workplaces, which was based on maximum holding time by Miedema and other people. It is expected that the scheme developed in this study could be used as a valuable tool when evaluating working postures.

  • Recently, weight reduction of vehicles has been of great interest and consequently the use of low-density materials in the automotive industry is increasing every year. However, the substitution of one material for another is not simple because it accompanies several problems, for example, weakness in the strength and stiffness and difficulty in the joining. To overcome these problems, the structure of the automobile redesigned totoally. Aluminum spaceframe is rapidly being adopted as a body structure for accommodating lightness, stiffness and strength requirement. In aluminum spaceframe manufacturing, it is often required to join aluminum tube. However, there are few suitable methods for joining aluminum tube, so that much interest has been focused on testing suitable joining methods. Joining by electromagnetic forming (EMF) can be useful method in joining aluminum tube, which offers some advantages compared with the conventional joining methods. In this paper, joining by EMF was investigated as a pre-study for applying an automotive spaceframe. Finite element simulations and strength tests were performed to analyze the influence of geometric parameters on joint strength. Based on these results, configurations of axial joint and torque joint were suggested and guidelines for designing EMF joint were established.

Prediction of Bending Fatigue Life of Cracked Out-of-Plane Gusset Joint Repaired by CFRP Plates

  • Carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP), plates bonding repair method is one of the simple repair methods for cracked steel structures. In this study, the influence of width of CFRP plates on bending fatigue life of out-of-plane gusset joint strengthened with CFRP plates was investigated from the experimental and numerical point of view. In the bending fatigue test of cracked out-of-plane gusset joint strengthened with CFRP plates, the effect of width of CFRP plates on crack growth life was clarified experimentally. Namely, it was revealed that the crack growth life becomes larger with increasing the width of CFRP plates. In the numerical approach, the stress intensity factor (SIF) at the surface point of a semi-elliptical surface crack was estimated based on the linear fracture mechanics. Furthermore, the extended fatigue life of cracked out-of-plane gusset joint strengthened with CFRP plates was evaluated by using the estimated SIF at the surface point and the empirical formula of the aspect ratio of semi-elliptical crack. As the results of numerical analysis, the estimated fatigue life of the specimen strengthened with CFRP plates showed the good agreement with the test results.

JHD를 이용한 경상분지 일원에서 발생한 지진의 진원위치 재결정(I) (Relocation of Hypocenters occured in and around Kyeongsang basin using by Joint Hypocenter Determination(JHD) method)

  • Crustal velocity model is very important to determine the hypocenters of the local earthquakes because the real crust is more complex and heterogeneous than simple homogeneous layerd model. But the exact crust model in and around Kyeongsang basin area is not fixed till now. To solve this problem Joint Hypocenter Determination(JHD) method is applied to the 133 local earthquakes that is recorded at KIGAM local network from Dec. 14 1994. to May 14, 1998. According to the comparision of earthquake locations and depths for the conventional procedure and JHD relocation procedure each locations is very similar but depth distributions are different. An initial depth distribution derived from the conventional methods is irregular and does not show the general trends. JHD relocations reduce scatter and define a dipping plane which is parallel to and apart 15km north from Ulsan fault.

누두흉의 외과적 치료Metal bar 를 이용한 수술 1례 치험 (Surgical Correction of Funnel Chest by using Sulamaa`s metal strut)

  • Two cases of surgical correction of funnel chest using metal struts were presented. The main procedures of the method were transverse submammary incision, subperichondrial resection of the deformed costal cartilages, division of the xiphisternal joint, wedge osteotomy of the sternum, freeing of the posterior surface of the sternum and stabilization by means of 2 metal struts. The struts were removed postoperative 3 and 6 months by a small incision under the local anesthesia. The results in both patients were satisfactory. This method of correction is simple, easy to perform and free of any operative risks.

절리암반내 터널의 안정성 평가를 위한 개별요소 모델링에 대한 고찰 (Some Considerations on the Distinct Element Modelling for the Stability Analysis of a Tunnel in a Jointed Rock Mass)

  • 본 논문은 절리암반 터널의 안정성 해석을 위한 2차원 개별요소모델링방법에 대한 개선방안을 제안하였다. 먼저, 절리군과 터널의 상대방위를 고려하여 터널단면상에서 불연속거동이 가능한 절리군을 구별하는 기준을 제시하였다. 이 기준에 따라 불연속거동이 가능한 절리군은 개별요소(암석블록)의 변이 되도록 하고 그 외 절리군은 암석블록의 탄성특성을 보정하는 방법을 제시하였다. 또한, 주어진 절리의 기하학적 특성에 대해서 절리의 방위편차와 유한길이를 고려한 복잡한 모델과 절리의 평균방위와 무한길이를 고려한 단순한 모델의 특성을 분석하였다. 그 결과, 후자의 모델이 일관성 있는 터널의 국부적 파괴양상과 명료한 암반의 불연속거동을 보여줌으로써 터널설계목적에 적절함을 확인하였다.

다수의 영상신호원간 결합 부호화율 할당방법 (A Joint Bitrate Allocation among Multiple Video Sources)

  • 다수의 영상 신호원들이 제한된 대역을 갖는 전송로를 통하여 동시에 전송되는 경우에 결합 대역할당방법이 필요하다. 본 논문은 영상 신호원들 사이에 일정한 화질 비율을 제공해 주기위한 결합 대역할당 방법을 제안한다. 먼저, 다수의 영상신호원의 다중화 시스템에서 왜곡과 부호화율 사이 의 근사화된 모델을 제시한다. 그리고나서, 간단한 구현을 위해서 근사화된 모델변수들을 사용하여 신호원들간 일정 왜곡비율을 갖도록 각 신호원에 부호화율을 할당한다. 실험결과로부터 기존의 독립적인 부호화율 제어방법에 비해서 제안된 부호화율 제어방법이 영상들 사이에서 거의 일정한 화질비율을 유지시켜줌을 보인다

고강도 콘크리트 말뚝과 기초판 접합부의 최적 철근보강량 산정 (Assessment of Optimum Reinforcement of Rebar for Joint of PHC Pile and Foundation Plate)

  • PHC 말뚝에서 강선을 노출시켜 건축물의 기초판과 연결시키는 기존 강선남김 방식은 강결합과 힌지결합의 중간형태로 공동주택(아파트)과 같은 건축구조물에 흔히 사용되는 방법이다. 그러나 이 방법은 역학적인 성능이 검증되지 않았으며 시공과정도 복잡하다. 이에 본 연구는 기존 관련 연구의 결과를 분석하고, PHC 말뚝의 콘크리트 단면적 대비 강선면적 비인 0.3%를 말뚝 접합부의 최소 철근보강량으로 선정하여 PHC 말뚝과 기초판과의 최적의 철근보강 방법을 말뚝 규격별(PHC 450, PHC 500, 및 PHC 600)로 제시하였다. PHC 말뚝과 기초판 접합부의 역학적 성능(인장강도와 전단강도)을 평가하기 위해 실물크기의 실험을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 모든 경우에 대해 요구강도를 만족하였으며 실제 적용되어도 문제가 없음을 확인하였다. 본 결과는 기존 연구에서 제시되었던 접합부의 철근 보강량보다 그 양이 대폭 감소하는 것으로 나타나 PHC 말뚝 시공 시 원가 절감에도 기여할 것으로 판단된다.
