  • By the use of a similar numerical method as the forming limit strain by coating method of coated sheet metals is investigated, in which the FEM is applied and J2G(J2-Gotohs Corner Theory) is utilized as the plasticity constitutive equa-tion. Circular bonded sheet metals with dissimilar sheets on both surface planes are stretched in a plane -strain state, with various work-hardening exponent n-values and thicknesses of each layer. Processes of shear-band formation in such com-posite sheets are clearly illustrated. It is concluded that, it the bonded state, the higher limiting strain of one layer is reduced due to the lower limiting strain of the other layer and vice versa, and does not necessarily obey the rule of linear combination of the limiting strain of each layer weighed according thickness.

  • By the use of a similar numerical method as that in the previous paper, the forming limit strain by coating method of clad sheet metals is investigated, in which the FEM is applied and J2G(J2-Gotoh's corner theory) is utilized as the plasticity constitutive equation. Clad two-layer sheets and sheets bonded with dissimilar sheets on both surface planes are stretched in a plane-strain state, with various work-hardening exponent n-values and thicknesses of each layer. Processes of shear-band formation in such composite sheets are clearly illustrated. It is concluded that, in the clad state, the higher limiting strain of one layer is reduced due to the lower limiting strain of the other layer and vice versa, and does not necessarily obey the rule of linear combination of the limiting strain of each layer weighted according thickness.

  • In thihs paper, I investigate the different usage of a reflexive-anaphor or logophor. Some African languages which have a morphologically independent set of logophors give a clue to this dichotomy. English which does not have morphologically independent logophors employs a reflexive-self form to be used as a logophor. However, the logophors in English occur in restricted environments. On the other hand, Korean is freer than English in that it allows areflexive to be interchanged with a logophor. With this assumption, I deal with the binding in Optimality Theory. I set up the constraints-MAXlog,ana,MINlog,ana, and Ølog, ana. With these constraints, the binding in various languages are explained through constraint ranking. In addition, the long-distance binding in English is dealt with properly of we assume the dichotomy and constraint-ranking in Optimality Theory. Furthermore, this gives an explanation to reflexive and pronoun alternation in English. Also, I borrow from phonology the idea of Obligatory Contour Principle to explain the similar phenomenon in syntax. I compare English with Korean in dealing with the possessive reflexive with the recourse to The Emergence of the Unmarked Pronoun Bresnan 1997. Fnmally, the reconstruction phenomenon is accounted for with the same device.

  • The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the relation of the mentalistics linguistics and costume, and to clarify the relationship between language as psychological expressions and costume to understand the phenomena of human costume behavior more deeply and comprehensively. As for the analysis of he costume phenomena, Noam Chomsky's psychological linguistic theory were applied to costume system. In this respect, particularly, by means of Chomsky's later theory(1965), the costume behavior were analyzed. The followings are the findings of the analysis : 1. The Syntactic Component: (※ See Full-Text) 2. The Semantic Component. The costme behavior is similar to a language system. Just as one morpheme or a phrase and phrases make different sentences, so various methods wearing costume make different sentences, so various methods wearing costume make different forms is costume. Language and costume have dictionary entry showing the meaning of vocabulary, and rules combining the individual meaning of the dictionary entry to complete the sentence.

  • In this report, the contact resistance between "electrode" and "lead" is investigated for reasonable measurements of samples' resistance in a polypyrrole (PPy) nanowire device. The sample's resistance, including "electrode-lead" contact resistance, shows a decrease as force applied to the interface increases. Moreover, the sample's resistance becomes reasonably similar to, or lower than, values calculated by resistivity of PPy reported in previous studies. The decrease of electrode-lead contact resistance by increasing the applying force was analyzed by using Holm theory: the general equation of relation between contact resistance ($R_H$) of two-metal thin films and contact force ($R_H{\propto}1/\sqrt{F}$). The present investigation can guide a reliable way to minimize electrode-lead contact resistance for reasonable characterization of nanomaterials in a microelectrode device; 80% of the maximum applying force to the junction without deformation of the apparatus shows reasonable values without experimental error.

  • Uncertainty study of shear strength characteristics of the marine clays was carried out based ell In-situ tests and laboratory tests on tile south-east coastal region of the Korean peninsula. Theoretical analyses were studied using both tile spherical cavity expansion theory in finite soil mass and the strain path method to determine tile cone factor using the undrained shear strengths obtained by in-situ tests, and the empirical methods in accordance with the ultimate resistance theory were also discussed. Analysis show that the empirical methods suggest more reasonable value than that of theoretical methods in terms of comparing the cone factor estimated using linear regression and frequency distribution analyses. The cone factors obtained by the empirical methods are 18, 15, and 6 respectively, from the results of total cone resistance, effective cone resistance, and excess porewater cone resistance method, and the estimated were similar to those of previous researcher's.

  • This paper proposes a stand alone type single-phase fuel cells micro-source with a voltage sag compensator for compensating the ac output voltage variations (sag or swell) of micro-source. The proposed micro-source is consist of a PEM(polymer electrolyte membrane) fuel cells simulator, a full bridge de converter, a 60Hz PWM(pulse width modulation) VSI(voltage source inverter), and a voltage sag compensator. Voltage sag compensator is similar to the configuration of hybrid series active power filter, and it is directly connected to micro-source through the injection transformer. Compensation algorithm of a voltage sag compensator adopts a single phase p-q theory. Effectiveness of the proposed the system is verified by the PSIM(power electronics simulation tool) simulation in the steady state and transient state which the proposed system is able to simultaneously compensate the harmonic current and source voltage sag or swell.

  • This work is concerned with various planar deformations of an isotropic sandwich beam, which generally consists of three layers: two stiff skin layers and one soft core layer. When one layer of the sandwich beam is modeled as a beam, the variational-asymptotic method is rigorously used to construct a zeroth-order beam model, which is similar to a generalized Timoshenko beam model capable of capturing the transverse shear deformations but still carries out the zeroth-order approximation. To analyze the planar sandwich beam, the sum of the energies of the two skin layers and one core layer is then formulated with different material and geometric properties and represented by a universal beam model in terms of the core-layer kinematics through interface displacement and stress continuity conditions. As a preliminary validation, two extreme examples are presented to demonstrate the capability and accuracy of this present approach.

  • In this paper, we consider p-Laplace equation which models the turbulent flow in a porous medium. Using a continuation principle (cf. [R. $Man{\acute{a}}sevich$ and J. Mawhin, Periodic solutions for nonlinear systems with p-Lplacian-like operators, J. Diff. Equa. 145(1998), 367-393]), we prove the existence of solutions for p-Laplace equation subject to periodic boundary conditions, under some sign and growth conditions for f. With the help of Leray-Schauder degree theory, the multiplicity of periodic solutions for p-Laplace equation is obtained under the similar conditions above and some known results are improved.
