생사의 침지처리에서 팽화약제처리 효과 (Effect of Some Swelling Agents on Soaking Treatment of Raw Silk)

  • 생사의 제조준비 공정으로 침지처리시 생사의 팽화도를 향상시키고 처리시간을 단축하고저 몇가지 약제를 병용처리한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 생사를 침지처리만 하여도 생사의 팽화도는 무처리에 비하여 34% 향상되었다. 2. Oil 첨가 시험결과 계면활성제 수용액에 Emanol 0.5g/l을 첨가함으로서 생사의 팽화도를 향상시킬 수 있었다. 3. 유기용매와 파라핀, 글리세린의 첨가는 생사의 팽화도에 미치는 영향은 적었다. 4. 염류중에서는 규산소다를 첨가할때 생사가 부드러워 지므로 팽화제로 적당하였다. 또 전처리시에 염류를 첨가하여 진공침투 처리함으로서 보다 생사의 팽화도를 향상시킬 수 있었다. 5. 지금까지의 생사 침지처리 방법을 종합적으로 검토하면 침지 전처리로서 sodium carbonate 0.4N 용액에서 진공침투처리(70 cmHg, 2회)후 Emulon 1g/l, Emanol 0.5g/l, sodium silicate 0.04 N, 속비 1 : 40, 온도 35$^{\circ}C$에서 2시간 침지처리한 후 수세, 탈수, 건조하는 방법이 가장 우수하였는데 무처리에 비하여 생사의 팽화도를 57% 향상시킬 수 있었다.

Preparation and Characterization of Silk Beads for Protein Delivery System

  • In order to the feasibility of silk materials as protein delivery system, silk beads incorporated with bovine serum albumin (BSA) were prepared by dropping silk fibroin extract into dope solution composed of ethanol and dichloromethane. Structural and morphological characteristics of silk beads were examined using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), infrared spectrometry, and X-ray diffractometry. Swelling ratio of silk beads was also measured. Release behavior of prototypical protein, BSA, was studied by observing the electropheretic phenomenon and release profile. SEM showed that silk beads are spherical with porous interior structure. Infrared spectrometry and X-ray diffraction confirm that the silk beads have a ${\beta}$-sheet conformation. The swelling capability of silk beads increased with the incorporation of the protein. The protein was released from the beads with slow release following an initial burst release. Therefore, silk beads show promise as materials for encasing protein drugs to be delivered to targets in the human body.

이부자리의 보온력에 관한 연구( I ) -충전물의 보온성 - (Studies on the Thermal Insulation Effect of Bedding ( I ) - Warmth Retaining Property of Filling Material -)

  • As a basic expriment to find out the thermal insulation effect of bedding KES-F7 was used to measure. The warmth retaining ratio of the six kinds of filling materials as cotton, wool , silk, down, cotton/polyester was measured, and the infleunce on the warmth retaining ratio of the warmth retaining ratio and humidity by the material was investigated. The results obtained are as follows: 1. The warmth retaining ratio of each filling material was shown to range from $70\%$ to $77\%$ . The warmth retaining ratio of each material preyed to be high in order down> polyester> cotton/polyester>cotton>silk>wool fiber. 2. The warmth retaining ratio of each filling material decreased with the inclose of the humidity The effective reduction rate by filling fiber's was high in order wool>cotton>cotton/polyester>silk>down>polyester material. 3. The warmth retaining ratio of each filling material was shown to be in counter-correlation with the humidity, and the correlation coefficient (r=0.94-0.98) proved to be highly signi-ficant.

인도산 꼭두서니, 매리골드, 석류염재를 이용한 직물의 염색 (Dyeability of Fabrics Using Indian Dyestuffs of Madder, Marigold and Pomegranate)

  • Dyeability of Indian natural dyestuffs to fabrics was investigated. Indian dyestuffs are more inexpensive than domestic dyestuffs purchased at oriental medicine stores. We studied the dyeability of madder, marigold, and pomegranate imported from India on cotton, silk, and wool fabrics. Dyebaths of a combination ratio of 80:20, 60:40, 50:50, 40:60 and 20:80 of madder and marigold, fabrics with orange colors were dyed. To evaluate the dyeability of dyed fabrics, K/S values, Munsell color values and CIE L, a, b, ${\Delta}E$ were measured. The dyeability of fabrics dyed in dyebaths of pH 4 and pH 7 were higher than pH 10. The dyeability in pH 4 was better than pH 7. Silk fabrics dyed with madder and marigold showed good dyeability and wool fabrics showed good affinity in madder dyebath and fair affinity in marigold dyebath. Cotton fabrics showed fair affinity in a marigold dyebath of pH 4 and pH 7. Cotton fabrics dyed with a 60:40 ratio of madder and marigold showed 4.76YR of Munsell color value. Silk Fabrics dyed with a 40:60 ratio showed 4.76YR and wool fabrics dyed with 20:80 ratio showed 5.57RY. The ratios produced the closest colors to 5.0YR of orange. This result indicated that marigold had a more powerful effect on cotton fabrics while madder was stronger on wool fabrics. Fading grades of washing colorfastness of wool and silk fabrics dyed in mixed dyebaths were higher than 3.5-4.0 and higher than homogeneous dyebaths. Staining grades of washing colorfastness of all dyed fabrics were between grades 3.5-5.0. Colorfastness to dry-cleaning was high as grades 4.0-5.0 in all of dyed fabrics. Colorfastness to light of dyed fabrics showed a fair grade of 3.5-5.0; in addition, wool fabrics showed lower grades than silk and cotton fabrics.

Effect of Processing Conditions on the Homogeneity of Partially Degummed Silk Evaluated by FTIR Spectroscopy

  • The partial degumming of silk has recently attracted researchers' attention because of its ability to produce silk textiles with new tactile properties, intermediate between the softness of fully degummed silk and the hardness of raw silk. However, it is difficult to obtain partially degummed silk in a homogenously degummed state due to the heterogeneous character of sericin removal. It is also difficult to examine the homogeneity of degumming. In the present study, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy with attenuated total reflection (ATR) geometry was used to evaluate the effect of processing conditions on the degumming of silk yarns. The crystallinity index, calculated from FTIR spectra, showed an increase with the degumming ratio. Therefore, the homogeneity of degumming could be evaluated by the variation of crystallinity index for 30 different spots in silk yarns. The homogeneity of degumming was influenced by the total degumming time, the content of surfactant, and the liquor rate. No effect was observed upon changing the number of degumming cycles at the same total degumming time.

키토산과 견사 단백질 복합체의 특성 (Characteristics of Chitosan-Silk fibroin composites)

  • 기능성 다이어트 식품을 개발을 목적으로, 키토산 과견 피브로인의 복합체를 만들고 성질을 조사하였다. 키토산은 대동새우로부터 추출하였고, 견사 피브로인 섬유는 누에로부터 추출하였다. 견사의 특성을 알아보기 위하여 용해도를 조사한 결과, 용해도는 8M Libr 이상의 농도와 4$0^{\circ}C$ 이상에서 가장 높았다. 견사 피브로인의 아미노산 조성은 천연견사 및 용해시킨 피브로인과 같았다. 키토산, 견사 피브로인 복합체의 아미노산 조성은 glycine, alanine, serine, tyrosine, threonine 및 glutamic acid 순서로 많았다. 또한 IR 스펙트럼 결과, 키토산.견사 피브로인 복합체는 배합비율에 따른 스텍트럼상의 차이는 거의 없었다.

머위잎 추출액의 염색성 (A study on the chemical and dyeing properties of Petasites japonicus leaf extract)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the chemical and dyeing properties of Petasites japonicus leaf extract under the various extracting and dyeing conditions such as temperature, time, the ratio of water and pH, repetition of dyeing in silk and cotton fabrics with Petasites japonicus leaf. The results were as follows: 1. It was found that λ$_{\max}$ of color solution extracted by Petasites japonicus leaf has two peaks at 290nm and 323nm. 2. The optimum extracting conditions were studied at 10$0^{\circ}C$, 40min., pH 7 and 1 : 20(the ratio of water and Petasites japonicus leaf), the optimum dyeing temperature, dyeing time, dyeing pH and repetition of dyeing were 10$0^{\circ}C$, 60min., pH 7, repetitions of three times, respectively. 3. Silk and cotton fabrics dyed with Petasites japonicus leaf extract were colored yellowish orange. The colory Petasites japonicus leaf extract in silk and cotton fabrics were deeped by same-mordanting with aluminum potassium sufate and cupric sulfate. 4. Washing fastness of silk fabrics was 4∼5 grade, but cotton fabrics was 3∼4 grade, so washing fastness of silk fabrics washed with neutral detergent was excellent.

Effect of Anti-Juvenile Hormone Analogue (AJH) Treatments on the Silk Filament Properties of the Silkworm, Bombyx mori L.

  • This study was carried out to define the effects of anti-juvenile hormone analogue(AJH) treatment at different silkworm larval stages on some silk filament properties. It was revealed that the treatments at the 1st and 2nd days of the 3rd instar as well as the 1st day of the 4th instar resulted to trimolters induction without lethal effect. The trimolters induced by treatment at the 1st day of the 4th instar showed the shortest larval duration and the lowest single cocoon weight, cocoon shell ratio, cocoon size, single filament length and denier of filament compared with those of the control, while the trimolters induced by the 3rd-instar treatment showed intermediate values. All treatments showed no significant differences from the aspect fo degumming ratio, elongation rate and crystallinity index of fibroin. However the silk filament obtained from the treatment at the 1st day of the 4th instar showed the highest tenacity which was revealed to be related to the better uniformity of filament by the means of microscopic photographing. FT-IR spectroscopy of the silk fibroin showed a sharp and strong peak at the position of 794.72 cm-1 in all AJH-treated samples regardless of trimolters induction, which was absent in control.

견 Fibroin의 효소분해에 관한 연구 II-견층부위별 Fibroin 분해율 차이와 견사물성과의 관계- (The Studies on Hydrolysis of the Silk Fibroin by Proteolytie Enzyme, Bombyx mori II. Relation between the Fibroin Hydrolysis of Different Cocoon Layers and Physical Property of Silk Fiber)

  • 각종 고치의 견층부위별 fibroin 효소분해율의 차이 및 견사물성과의 관계를 구명코자 시험하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 각종 고치의 견층부위별 fibroin 효소분해율은 외층에서 내층으로 갈수록 높았다. 2. 이상용견의 견층부위별 fibroin 분해율은 정상견에 비하여 높았으며 옥견>박피견>사용견>정견 순위를 보이었다. 3. 원종인 잠111과 잠112의 fibroin 분해율 및 sericin 함유량은 교유종인 잠 111$\times$잠112보다 높았다. 4. 인공사료육잠견의 견층부위별 fibroin의 분해율은 외층보다 내층으로 갈수록 증가되었으며 sericin 함양은 외층에서 내층으로 갈수록 감소되었으나 최내층에서 약간 증가되는 경향을 보이었다. 5. 견층부위별 연편사의 절단강력은 외층에서 내층으로 갈수록 감소되는 경향이었고 이상용견의 절단강역은 정견에 비하여 저하되었다. 6. 견층부위별 fibroin 분해율과 견사의 절단강력과는 부의 상관(${\gamma}$=-0.8)이 인정되고 그 회귀방정식은 y= -0.29x+5.07 이었다.

  • The permselectivity of alkali metal chlorides through silk fibroin membrane was investigated at $25^{\circ}C$: The Permeability coefficients were found to increase in a sequence of LiCl < NaCl < KCl < CsCl. This sequence was explained by considering the partition and the hydrophilic membrane. The dependence of the permeability on the salts concentration was interpreted by means of TMS theory. The ionic mobility ratio of alkali metal chlorides through this membrane decreased with the increase of the Stokes radius. The Effectiveness of the charged density was found to depend on the ionic species. The greater the Stokes radius the larger the effective charge density of membrane.
