A Study on the Digital Filter Structure for ADM Coded Signal (ADM 부호화신호를 위한 디지털필터구조에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper the theory of digital filters which can directly process the ADM encoded signal, and their structures are studied. In order to investigate the frequency characteristics of DM filters with the strucutures presented in this paper, a sampled speech signal is used for the input data. The result of computer simulation shows that the presented DM filter structures can be used effectively for the direct process of ADM encoded signals, ven though they do not posses sufficiently sharp cutoff characteristics.

Coupling Performance Analysis of a Buried Meshed-Ground in a Multi-layered Structure

  • Since the manufacturing process in the LTCC process does not allow solid ground planes between ceramic layers to isolate the signal lines, the buried ground should be realized as a meshed ground plane. Both characteristic impedances of the signal lines and couplings between different signal layers are influenced by the properties of these meshed planes. In this paper, we propose a new analysis method for coupling behavior between internal transmission lines, which are isolated by the buried meshed-ground planes. The coupling behavior between layers isolated by meshed-ground planes is investigated by the coupled-transmission line model for the isolated layers. The coupling factors between isolated lines with the meshed-ground are extracted by 2-D FEM calculations.

  • In recent, the contactless IC card is widely used in traffic, access control system and so forth. And its use becomes a general tendency more and more because of the development of RF technology and improvement of requirement for user convenience. This paper describes the hardware module to process contactless protocol for implementation contactless IC card. And the hardware module consists of specific digital logic circuits that analyze digital signal from analog circuit and then generate data & status signal for CPU, and that convert the data from CPU into digital signal for analog circuit.

  • This research presents both system structure analysis to improve performance of 3D laser scanner, which has time of flight method, and scheme to minimize distance measurement errors during signal process. With the help of reference source, we minimized the instability of electronic signal processing time and possibility of distance measurement errors. Furthermore, it helps easy alignment and accuracy of system by using fiber delay line and coupler.

  • Since the behavior of an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) is influenced by disturbances and moments that are not accurately known, the depth control law of AUVs must have the ability to track the input signal and to reject disturbances simultaneously. Here, we proposed robust tracking control for controlling the depth of an AUV. An augmented closed-loop system is represented by an error dynamic equation, and we can easily show the asymptotic stability of the overall system by using a Lyapunov function. The robust tracking controller is consisted of the internal model of the command signal and a state feedback controller, and it has the ability to track the input signal and reject disturbances. The closed-loop control system is robust to parameter uncertainties. Simulation results showed the control performance of the robust tracking controller to be better than that of a P + PD controller.

Sparse Signal Recovery with Parallel Orthogonal Matching Pursuit and Its Performances (병렬OMP 기법을 통한 성긴신호 복원과 그 성능)

  • In this paper, parallel orthogonal matching pursuit (POMP) is proposed to supplement the orthogonal matching pursuit (OMP) which has been widely used as a greedy algorithm for sparse signal recovery. The process of POMP is simple but effective: (1) multiple indexes maximally correlated with the observation vector are chosen at the firest iteration, (2) the conventional OMP process is carried out in parallel for each selected index, (3) the index set which yields the minimum residual is selected for reconstructing the original sparse signal. Empirical simulations show that POMP outperforms than the existing sparse signal recovery algorithms in terms of exact recovery ratio (ERR) for sparse pattern and mean-squared error (MSE) between the estimated signal and the original signal.

Analysis of Defect Signals Inside Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer Through Deconvolution of Terahertz Wave (테라헤르츠파의 디컨벌루션을 통한 유리섬유 복합재 내부 결함 신호 분석)

  • Analysis of defect signals inside glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) was conducted through deconvolution of terahertz (THz) wave. The GFRP specimen with internal defects was manufactured and the THz signal was measured through the reflection mode of the Terahertz Time-Domain Spectroscopy (THz-TDS) system. For deconvolution of the measured THz signal, the peak position of the THz signal was amplified through Normalized Cross Correlation (NCC) of the incident and detected THz signals. The position and intensity of the amplified peak were extracted as impulse, and the extracted signal of the impulse position was removed from the THz original signal. By repeating the process, the critical impulses, which represent boundary of the specimen, were derived. The deconvolution process was verified by confirming that the original THz signal without noise can be restored through the convolution of the critical impulses and the incident signal. From the derived critical impulses, the thickness of the internal defect in the GFRP was calculated through the detection time of impulses within 15 ㎛ accuracy.

Electronic Attendance System Using Smart Device and High Frequency Signal

  • Recently, many universities have used various electronic attendance systems such as NFC, QR code, Sound-QR, Bluetooth BLE authentication, and face recognition to process attendance. However, existing methods have various problems such as attendance errors due to deformation of authentication signals, mis-recognition attendance from outside the classroom, and difficulty to process seat absence during class. Therefore, this study proposes a high-frequency signal-based electronic attendance system to solve these problems and manage more accurate electronic attendance. As the high-frequency signal replaces the BLE signal, and the transmission range of the signal is limited to the classroom, and the signal value can be immediately changed if a change of the signal is needed. To verify the performance of the proposed system, we conducted a comparative experiment with the Bluetooth based electronic attendance system, and as a result, the proposed method showed high accuracy. Thus, the proposed method will be a useful service that can be immediately used in smart device-based electronic attendance system.

  • Optimal input design problem for linear regression model with constrained output variance has been considered. It is shown that the optimal input signal for the linear regression model can also be realized as an ARMA process. Monte-Carlo simulation results show that the optimal stochastic input leads to comparatively better estimation accuracy than white input signal.
