  • Affective computing has gained increasing interest in the recent years with the development of potential applications in Human computer interaction (HCI) and healthcare. Although momentous research has been done on human emotion recognition, however, in comparison to speech and facial expression less attention has been paid to physiological signals. In this paper, Electroencephalogram (EEG) signals from different brain regions were investigated using modified wavelet energy features. For minimization of redundancy and maximization of relevancy among features, mRMR algorithm was deployed significantly. EEG recordings of a publically available "DEAP" database have been used to classify four classes of emotions with Multi class Support Vector Machine. The proposed approach shows significant performance compared to existing algorithms.

  • In this paper, we propose the design of lighting control algorithm for intelligent LED lighting system. The proposed lighting control algorithm transmitted to MCU through a data bus the environmental information detected from respectively sensor node. The MCU control software was designed to determine the level maintained to depending on the set control method by comparing the results that calculated the dimming level using a signal value. Also, it was designed to be lighting by cross-performed periodically the rotation and reverse method by created fully symmetrical pattern using the control algorithm to LED lighting device. In this paper, the proposed lighting control algorithm improved the reliability of the data sent by designed the system that can be controlled lighting to stable, and it was maintained the event delivery ratio of 91%. Also, the lighting device was decreased the luminous intensity of 32%, the power consumption of 49%, and heat generation of 32%. As a result, it were could be improved the energy efficiency that the life-cycle of LED has been increased 50%.

  • Carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) cable has good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. However, the anchorage of CFRP cable is a big issue due to the anisotropic property of CFRP material. In this article, a high-efficient bonding anchorage with novel configuration is developed for CFRP cables. The acoustic emission (AE) technique is employed to evaluate the performance of anchorage in the fatigue test and post-fatigue ultimate bearing capacity test. The obtained AE signals are analyzed by using a combination of unsupervised K-means clustering and supervised K-nearest neighbor classification (K-NN) for quantifying the performance of the anchorage and damage evolutions. An AE feature vector (including both frequency and energy characteristics of AE signal) for clustering analysis is proposed and the under-sampling approaches are employed to regress the influence of the imbalanced classes distribution in AE dataset for improving clustering quality. The results indicate that four classes exist in AE dataset, which correspond to the shear deformation of potting compound, matrix cracking, fiber-matrix debonding and fiber fracture in CFRP bars. The AE intensity released by the deformation of potting compound is very slight during the whole loading process and no obvious premature damage observed in CFRP bars aroused by anchorage effect at relative low stress level, indicating the anchorage configuration in this study is reliable.

  • Acoustic emission (AE) is one of the most powerful techniques for detecting damages and identify damage location during operations. However, in case of the source location technique, there is some limitation in conventional AE technology, because it strongly depends on wave speed in the corresponding structures having heterogeneous composite materials. A compressed natural gas(CNG) pressure vessel is usually made of carbon fiber composite outside of vessel for the purpose of strengthening. In this type of composite material, locating impact damage sources exactly using conventional time arrival method is difficult. To overcome this limitation, this study applied the previously developed Contour D/B map technique to four types of CNG storage tanks to identify the source location of damages caused by external shock. The results of the identification of the source location for different types were compared.

  • Voice recognition systems which use a white noise and voice recognition environment are not correct voice recognition with variable voice mixture. Therefore in this paper, we propose a method using the convergence of Bayesian technique and selecting voice for effective voice recognition. we make use of bank frequency response coefficient for selective voice extraction, Using variables observed for the combination of all the possible two observations for this purpose, and has an voice signal noise information to the speech characteristic extraction selectively is obtained by the energy ratio on the output. It provide a noise elimination and recognition rates are improved with combine voice recognition of bayesian methode. The result which we confirmed that the recognition rate of 2.3% is higher than HMM and CHMM methods in vocabulary recognition, respectively.

  • Replica bit-line technique is used for making enable signal of sense amplifier which accurately tracks bit-line of SRAM. However, threshold voltage variation in the replica bit-line circuit changes the cell current, which results in variation of the sense amplifier enable time, $T_{SAE}$. The variation of $T_{SAE}$ makes the sensing operation unstable. In this paper, in addition to conventional replica bit-line delay ($RBL_{conv}$), dual replica bit-line delay (DRBD) and multi-stage dual replica bit-line delay (MDRBD) which are used for reducing $T_{SAE}$ variation are briefly introduced, and the maximum possible number of on-cell which can satisfy $6{\sigma}$ sensing yield is determined through simulation at a supply voltage of 0.6V with 14nm FinFET technology. As a result, it is observed that performance of DRBD and MDRBD is improved 24.4% and 48.3% than $RBL_{conv}$ and energy consumption is reduced which 8% and 32.4% than $RBL_{conv}$.

  • We demonstrate a pulsed CO$_2$laser with long pulse duration of millisecond order in the low pressure less than 30 Torr. A new power supply for our laser system switches the voltage of AC power line(60㎐) directly. The power supply doesn't need elements such as a rectified bridge, energy-storage capacitors. and a current-limiting resistor in the discharge circuit. In order to control the laser output power, the pulse repetition rate is adjusted up to 60㎐ and the firing angle of SCR gate is varied from 30˚ to 150˚. A ZCS(Zero Crossing Switch) circuit and a PIC one-chip microprocessor are used to control the gate signal of SCR precisely. The maximum laser output is 23W at the total pressure of 18 Torr, the pulse repetition rate of 60㎐, and SCR gate firing angle of 90˚. In addition, the obtained laser pulse width is approximately 3㎳(FWHM)

  • This paper suggests a 6-pulse-shift converter structure with PWM current-source inverter based on buck-boost configuration to improve the efficiency and to reduce the switching frequency of inverter for photovoltaic generation system, the device can be operated as interface system between solar module system and power system grid without energy storage cell. The circuit has six current-source buck-boost converter which operate chopper part and kas one full bridge inverter which make a decision the polarity of AC output. Therefore, the proposed PWM power inverter has advantages such as the reduction of witching loss and realization of unity power factor operation. The theoretical backgrounds are discussed and the input-output characteristics for the implemented prototype inverter using TMS320F2812 are verified experimentally in this paper.

  • In this study, a miniature fiber-optic radiation sensor has been developed using a water-equivalent organic scintillator for electron beam therapy dosimetry. The intensity of Cerenkov light is measured and characterized as a function of the incident angle of the electron beam from a LINAC. Also, a subtraction method using a background optical fiber without a scintillator and an optical discrimination method using optical filters are investigated to remove Cerenkov light, which could cause problems or limit the accuracy for detecting a fluorescent light signal in a fiber-optic radiation sensor.
