Injection compression molding (ICM) is an advantageous processing method for producing thin and large polymeric parts in a robust manner. In the current study, we employed the ICM process for an energy-related application, i.e., thin and large polymeric battery case. A mold for manufacturing the battery case was fabricated using injection molding. The filling behavior of molten polymer in the mold cavity was investigated experimentally. To provide an in-depth understanding of the ICM process, ICM and normal injection molding processes were compared numerically. It was found that the ICM had a relatively low filling pressure, which resulted in reduced shrinkage and warpage of the final products. Effect of the parting line gap on the ICM characteristics, such as filling pressure, clamping force, filling time, volumetric shrinkage, and warpage, was analyzed via numerical simulation. The smaller gap in the ICM parting line led to the better dimensional stability in the finished product. The ICM sample using a 0.1 mm gap showed a 76% reduction in the dimensional deflection compared with the normal injection molded part.

We forecast the US oil consumption level taking advantage of google trends. The google trends are the search volumes of the specific search terms that people search on google. We focus on whether proper selection of google trend terms leads to an improvement in forecast performance for oil consumption. As the forecast models, we consider the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression and the structured regularization method for large vector autoregressive (VAR-L) model of Nicholson et al. (2017), which select automatically the google trend terms and the lags of the predictors. An out-of-sample forecast comparison reveals that reducing the high dimensional google trend data set to a low-dimensional data set by the LASSO and the VAR-L models produces better forecast performance for oil consumption compared to the frequently-used forecast models such as the autoregressive model, the autoregressive distributed lag model and the vector error correction model.
Background: Neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) is a treatment modality whereby chemotherapy is used as the initial treatment of HNSCC in patients presenting with advanced cancer that cannot be treated by other means. It leads to shrinkage of tumours to an operable size without significant compromise to essential oro-facial organs of the patients. The molecular mechanisms behind shrinkage due to NACT is not well elucidated. Materials and Methods: Eleven pairs of primary HNSCCs and adjacent normal epithelium, before and after chemotherapy were screened for cell proliferation and apoptosis. This was followed by immunohistochemical analysis of some cell cycle (LIMD1, RBSP3, CDC25A, CCND1, cMYC, RB, pRB), DNA repair (MLH1, p53) and apoptosis (BAX, BCL2) associated proteins in the same set of samples. Results: Significant decrease in proliferation index and increase in apoptotic index was observed in post-therapy tumors compared to pre-therapy. Increase in the RB/pRB ratio, along with higher expression of RBSP3 and LIMD1 and lower expression of cMYC were observed in post-therapy tumours, while CCND1 and CDC25A remained unchanged. While MLH1 remained unchanged, p53 showed higher expression in post-therapy tumors, indicating inhibition of cell proliferation and induction of apoptosis. Increase in the BAX/BCL2 ratio was observed in post-therapy tumours, indicating up-regulation of apoptosis in response to therapy. Conclusions: Thus, modulation of the G1/S cell cycle regulatory proteins and apoptosis associated proteins might play an important role in tumour shrinkage due to NACT.

In this Study, it was fabricated that shrinkage reducing agent and mortar used $C_{12}A_7$-based slag enhanced the shrinkage reduction and compressive strength. To reduce cement content, setting time, flow and compressive strength of mortar with varying content of fly ash and blast furnace slag were experimented. The flow increased and setting time delayed as the increase of fly ash and blast furnace slag content. And early strength was lower and long age strength was higher than that of mortar with low content of admixture.

There are various quality deteriorations of concrete such as plastic, drying shrinkage due to abrupt moisture evaporation, slump loss and cold joint under hot weather condition. To protect from above deteriorations, several kinds of modified bubble sheets have been applied to secure heat insulation performance. But, there is not enough application cases of bubble sheets at job site under hot weather condition. The objective of the paper is to investigate the temperature profile and crack occurrence of the concrete covered with five different kinds of surface curing sheets, which is placed under hot weather condition. Single layer transparent bubble sheet, white colored bubble sheet, aluminum metalizing bubble sheet and PE film are adopted for surface curing sheets. Test results indicated that application of aluminum metalizing bubble sheet had most favorable effect on the reduction of on temperature rise and on the crack reduction of concrete. But due to larger reflection of light by aluminum, it brings about visual pollution to the workers. Hence, the application of white colored bubble sheet can be the most desirable alternative to protect the concrete from hot weather in the field.

This study is to investigate the probability to develop the AE Water-reducing agent which can decrease the bleeding by mixing melamine type super-plasticizer(SP) and methyl cellulose(MC) viscosity agent. According to the result, as the mixing ratio of melamine type SP and MC viscosity agent increases, the bleeding is reduced due to a increase of the air content. When the mixing ratio of melamine type SP and MC viscosity agent is 1:2 and 1;3 at the water content of 165kg/$m^3$ and 175kg/$m^3$ respectively, slump and air content are satisfied and bleeding is reduced to some extent, so this is determined as the mixing ratio of AE water reducing agent for reduction of bleeding. It is prove that the developed AE water reducing agent for reduction of bleeding can reduce the amount of bleeding and prohibit the plastic shrinkage crack by slowing down the bleeding speed. Compressive strength of hardened concrete does not make any difference in comparison with plain concrete.
In order to investigate the surface SHG, (110) pure STO single crystals were exposed to a reducing atmosphere to induce the reduction of the Ti ion and the release of oxygen from the lattice compensating the reduction of the Ti ions. The anisotropy and asymmetry of SHG intensity explains a slight shrinkage. The incoming fundamental wave was polarized either in the $p$-in or $s$-in to the plane of incidence for the reflection geometry. The SH polarization diagram could be described by the electric dipole and/or quadrupole contribution of reduced STO single crystal surface.

The use of mechanical anastomosis coupler instead of sutures has been increasing in microvascular anastomosis surgery. However, non-biodegradable anastomosis coupler has problems such as not only inflammatory reaction but also remaining permanently in operation wound. Therefore, we fabricated biodegradable anastomosis coupler using injection molding process to overcome the limitation of non-biodegradable anastomosis coupler. In various injection molding process conditions, the shrinkage was calculated with different cylinder temperatures and injection molding pressures and anastomotic strength was measured. As a result, changes in shrinkage hole part larger than the pin part. In addition, the shrinkage in the cylinder at higher temperatures increase. However, the higher the injection pressure, shrinkage tends to decrease, respectively. In-vitro degradation behavior of PCL anastomotic coupler evaluated for 12 weeks, water uptake was increased and molecular weight was accompanied by a reduction in mass of the biological degradation and reduction of anastomotic strength was confirmed. However, decreased levels of anastomotic strength enough to exceed the requirements of preclinical surgery, PCL microvascular anastomosis coupler suitable candidate materials that could identify.
Geopolymers produced from aluminosilicate materials such as metakaolin and coal ash react with alkali activators and show higher fire resistance than portland cement, due to amorphous inorganic polymer. The percentage of thermal shrinkage of geopolymers ranges from less than 0.5 % to about 3 % until $600^{\circ}C$, and reaches about 5 ~ 7 % before melting. In this study, geopolymers paste having Si/Al = 1.5 and being mixed with carbon nanofibers, silicon carbide, pyrex glass, and vermiculite, and ISO sand were studied in order to understand the compressive strength and the effects of thermal shrinkage of geopolymers. The compressive strength of geopolymers mixed by carbon nanofibers, silicon carbide, pyrex glass, or vermiculite was similar in the range from 35 to 40 MPa. The average compressive strength of a geopolymers mixed with 30 wt.% of ISO sand was lowest of 28 MPa. Thermal shrinkage of geopolymers mixed with ISO sand decreased to about 25 % of paste. This is because the aggregate particles expanded on firing and to compensate the shrinkage of paste. The densification of the geopolymer matrix and the increase of porosity by sintering at $900^{\circ}C$ were observed regardless of fillers.

In a slender column under sustained eccentric compression, the deformations caused by creep and shrinkage can lead to an increase in the loads on the structure and a reduction in strength. This study presents a methodlogy and improved computer program for the analysis of time-dependent long column in considering slender effects and nonlinear behaviors. In this result, when slenderness ratio is greater than 80, we know that magnified moment methods may be not applied in long columns.
