The aim of this research is selecting an economical aggregate type for ultra-high strength concrete with 80 to 120 MPa of compressive strength. As the tests, the effect of water-to-binder ratios and types of aggregate on autogenous shrinkage of ultra-high strength concrete were evaluated. as the results of a series of tests performed, the slump flow was satisfied the target range of 600 ± 100 mm, and the concrete mixture with RLA showed higher elastic modulus than the other cases. For the autogenous shrinkage preventing performance, in the case of water-to-binder ratio of 15, and 20 %, the mixture with BA showed slightly improved autogenous shrinkage reducing effect than the mixture with RLA while the mixture with RLA showed better performance at 25 % of water-to-binder ratio. Therefore, based on the tests results of slump flow, elastic modulus, and autogenous shrinkage, the RLA is considered as a better aggregate type for this purpose.
The purpose of the study was to investigate the shrinkage and creep behavior of PET filaments which were prepared at various spinning speeds(3,300, 4,000, 5,000, 6,000, and 7,000m/min) and anneal($120^{\circ}$, 30min & $150^{\circ}$, 40min). In order to determine the shrinkage and creep behavior with the crystallinity change, PET filaments were treated with low(12$0^{\circ}C$, 30min) and high($150^{\circ}$, 40min) temperature conditions with hot air dryer under the constant tension. The results of the study were as follows: as the spinning speed increased, the degree of shrinkage and elongation of the sample treated by wet condition decreased. The sample with 0.01g/d of load under various spinning speeds showed shrinkage behavior and highest shrinkage ratio at $76^{\circ}$ which was Tg of PET. The degree of shrinkage and elongation of the treated sample was less than those of the untreated sample by wet treatment. Especially, there was less degree of shrinkage and elongation of the sample treated by higher temperature condition. In 3,300m/min of spinning speed the draw ratio of undrawn yarn of a mixture of a-axis orientation and c-axis orientation was 2.0, which is similar to the value of the traditional drawn yarn. Finally, there was a big range of shrinkage and elongation by wet treatment in 3,300 m/min of spinning speed.
The unrestrained shrinkage strain of alkali-activated (AA) slag concrete was examined and compared with design equations specified in code provisions and empirical equations proposed by Yang et al. The main parameters investigated were the water-to-binder ratio (W/B), unit water content and fine aggregate-to-total aggregate ratio (S/a). Test results revealed that shrinkage strain of AA slag concrete is nearly proportional to the W/B ratio, whereas its time function is independent of the W/B ratio. The shrinkage strain of AA slag concrete increased significantly when the unit water content is above $185kg/m^3$, whereas it is marginally affected by the S/a ratio. The design equation of ACI 209 considerably overestimates the shrinkage behavior of AA slag concrete, whereas CEB-FIP equation tends to underestimate the shrinkage at the age more than 28 days. The empirical equation of Yang et al. is in better agreement with test results, showing that values of mean and standard deviation of error coefficients obtained from each specimen are 016 and 0.07, respectively.
In the present work appropriate concrete material models have been proposed to predict drying shrinkage and specific creep of High-performance concrete (HPC) using Artificial Neural Network (ANN). The ANN models are trained, tested and validated using 106 different experimental measured set of data collected from different literatures. The developed models consist of 12 input parameters which include quantities of ingredients namely ordinary Portland cement, fly ash, silica fume, ground granulated blast-furnace slag, water, and other aggregate to cement ratio, volume to surface area ratio, compressive strength at age of loading, relative humidity, age of drying commencement and age of concrete. The Feed-forward backpropagation networks with Levenberg-Marquardt training function are chosen for proposed ANN models and same implemented on MATLAB platform. The results shows that the proposed ANN models are more rational as well as computationally more efficient to predict time-dependent properties of drying shrinkage and specific creep of HPC with high level accuracy.

This paper is to experimentally investigate the strength and autogenous shrinkage of high strength mortar with the 20 % of water?binder ratio(W/B). In this study, the water substituting liquid(WSL) was used including gasoline, light oil, lamp oil, edible oil, HFE, ethanol, methanol and acetone in order to explore changes in strength and autogenous shrinkage depending on WSL type and replacement. For fresh properties, the replacement of WSL did not affect the fluidity of mortar mixtures considerably, except for ethanol and methanol. However, the replacement of WSL resulted in a slight decrease in flexural and compressive strength. For autogenous shrinkage, the replacement of WSL led to reduce autogenous shrinkage, and especially, the replacement of edible oil led to reduce autogenous shrinkage significantly due to saponification between edible oil and cement.
Owing to the obstruction of section steel on the moisture diffusion in concrete, the existing shrinkage prediction models overestimate the time-dependent deformation of steel reinforced concrete (SRC) columns, particularly for the SRC columns with enclosed section steels. To solve this issue, this study deals with analytical and experimental studies on the drying shrinkage for this type of column. First, an effective method for predicting the drying shrinkage of concrete based on finite element model is introduced and two crucial parameters for simulation of humidity field are determined. Then, the drying shrinkage of SRC columns with enclosed section steels is investigated and two modified parameters, which depend on the ambient relative humidity and the ratio of section steel size to column size, are introduced to the B3 model. Finally, an experiment on the shrinkage deformation of SRC columns with enclosed section steels is conducted. Comparing the predicted results with the experimental ones, it demonstrates that the modified B3 model is quite reasonable.

The use of blast-furnace slag (BFS) in making not only normal concrete but also high-performance concrete has several advantages with respect to workability, long-term strength and durability. However, slag concrete tends to show more shrinkage than normal concrete, especially autogenous shrinkage. High autogenous shrinkage would result in severe cracking if they are not controlled properly. Therefore, in order to minimize the shrinkage stress and to ensure the service life of concrete structures, the autogenous shrinkage behavior of concrete containing BFS should be understood. In this study, small prisms made of concrete with water-binder (cement+BFS) ratio (W/B) ranging from 0.27 to 0.42 and BFS replacement level of $0\%$, $30\%$, and $50\%$, were prepared to measure the autogenous shrinkage. Based on the test results, thereafter, material constants in autogenous shrinkage prediction model were determined. In particular, an effective autogenous shrinkage defined as the shrinkage that contributes to the stress development was introduced. Moreover, an estimation formula of the 28-day effective autogenous shrinkage was proposed by considering various W/B's. Test results showed that autogenous shrinkage increased with replacement level of BFS at the same W/B. Interestingly, the increase of autogenous shrinkage is dependent on the W/B at the same content of BFS; the lower W/B, the smaller increasing rate. In concluding, it is necessary to use the combination of other mineral admixtures such as shrinkage reducing admixture or to perform sufficient moisture curing on the construction site in order to reduce the autogenous shrinkage of BFS concrete.

To investigate the long-term behavior of eccentrically loaded RC columns, which are more realistic in practice than concentrically loaded RC columns, long-term eccentric loading tests were conducted for 10 RC columns. Test parameters included concrete compressive strength, reinforcement ratio, bar yield strength, eccentricity ratio, slenderness ratio, and loading pattern. Test results showed that the strain and curvature of the columns increased with time, and concrete forces were gradually transferred to longitudinal bars due to the creep and shrinkage of concrete. The long-term behavior of the columns varied with the test parameters, and long-term effects were more pronounced in the case of using the lower strength concrete, lower strength steel, lower bar ratio, fewer loading-step, higher eccentricity ratio, and higher slenderness ratio. However, in all the columns, no longitudinal bars were yielded under service loads at the final measuring day. Meanwhile, the numerical analysis modeling using the ultimate creep coefficient and ultimate shrinkage strain measured from cylinder tests gave quite good predictions for the behavior of the columns.
In this study, physical properties were studied by using latent stretching yarn in order to develop the texturing yarn technique for super bulky yarn, which is better in bulkiness and handle than natural wool and also adds property of synthetic fiber to natural wool. In order to obtain textured conditions by analysing basic properties for manufacturing DTY yarn with super bulky property, DTY 50d/12 after spinning latent yarn spined POY 80d/12 was obtained under the two conditions of (i) false twist(T/M) level 3 in DTY texturing and (ii) draw ratio level 4 in draw texturing. For DTY texturing yarn, Elongation rate increased as the heat treatment time and temperatures increased. In addition, shrinkage became higher as false twist was higher, so that elongation rate became lower. When annealing became longer in time and higher in temperature, initial modulus increased. In addition, as the count of false twist increased, the initial modulus showed higher values. For draw texturing yarn, under the conditions of heat temperature 180 and heating time 30 minutes, shrinkage rate in draw ratio 1.55 and 1.6 draw ratio was 7%, and that in 1.65 and 1.7 draw ratio was 8.5%. High draw ratio samples' tenacity was much influenced by heating time and temperature, but low draw ratio samples' tenacity was influenced not by treated time, but by treated temperature.

The effects of polymer-cement ratio, antifoamer content and shrinkage-reducing agent content on the strength of high-fluidity polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder are examined. As a result, the flexural and tensile strengths of the high-fluidity polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder tend to increase with increasing polymer-cement ratio, and tend to decrease with increasing shrinkage-reducing agent content, regardless of the antifoamer content. However, the compressive strength of the high-fluidity polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder decrease with increasing polymer-cement ratio and shrinkage-reducing agent content.
