High performance concrete (HPC) has been extensively used in thin overlay for repair purpose due to its excellent strength and durability. This paper presents an experiment, where the sensor-instrumented HPC overlays have been followed by dynamic strain and moisture content monitoring for 1 year, under normal traffic. The vibrating wire and soil moisture sensors were embedded in overlay before construction. Four given HPC mixes (2 original mixes and their shrinkage-modified mixes) were used for overlays to contrast the strain and moisture results. A calibration method to accurately measure the moisture content for a given concrete mixture using soil moisture sensor was established. The monitoring results indicated that the modified mixes performed much better than the original mixes in shrinkage cracking control. Weather condition and concrete maturity at early age greatly affected the strain in concrete. The strain in HPC overlay was primarily in longitudinal direction, leading to transverse cracks. Additionally, the most moisture loss in concrete occurred at early age. Its rate was very dependent on weather. After one year, cracking survey was carried out by vision to verify the strain direction and no cracks observed in shrinkage modified mixes.

This study intends to conduct tests on subsidence and drying shrinkage by mixing CaO-CSA expansion materials to ensure the stability of CLC, and to understand its properties. Based on CLC of 0.6, the replacement ratio of CaO-CSA expansion material was conducted at five levels compared to blast furnace slag, and the results are as follows. The replacement of CaO-CSA expansion material at an appropriate level produces ethringhite and potassium hydroxide, and it is believed that the internal voids of CLC and the Tobelmorite interlayer structure are charged to increase the structural stability, leading to an increase in compressive strength and a decrease in the drying shrinkage. However, it is judged that tissue relaxation due to excessive substances in the high replacement ratio affects the stability of CLC. In the future, we will conduct additional experiments on density, absorption rate, flow test, and settlement, and evaluate and analyze the stability of CLC by selecting the optimal replacement ratio of CaO-CSA expansion materials.
This study investigates how much building area among total building area concentrates on urban region in a local government region and then, I applies 'The Index of Building Concentration in Urban Area' for the first time in a study. The finding shows that Cities' Index is higher than counties', and also shows that a lower index is associated with a higher rate of older adult population, and is also associated with higher general budget expenditure by the local government based on the index of Building Concentration in Urban Area in Gyeongbuk Province. This study provides evidence that the Index of Building Concentration in Urban Area can be utilized in measuring shrinkage level, effectiveness of municipal finance, and in establishing shrinkage city/county planning by basic data.
The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of exponential curing method with conventional curing and soft start curing method on polymerization shrinkage of composite resins. Three brands of composite resins (Synergy Duo Shade, Z250, Filtek Supreme) and three brands of light curing units (Spectrum 800, Elipar Highlight, Elipar Trilight) were used. 40 seconds curing time was given. The shrinkage was measured using linometer for 90 seconds. The effect of time on polymerization shrinkage was analysed by one-way ANOVA and the effect of curing modes and materials on polymerization shrinkage at the time of 90s were analysed by two-way ANOVA. The shrinkage ratios at the time of 20s to 90s were taken and analysed the same way. The results were as follows : 1. All the groups except Supreme shrank almost within 20s Supreme cured by soft start and exponential curing had no further shrinkage after 30s (p < 0.05). 2. Statistical analysis revealed that polymerization shrinkage varied among materials (p = 0.000) and curing modes (p = 0.003). There was no significant interaction between material and curing mode. 3. The groups cured by exponential curing showed the statistically lower polymerization shrinkage at 90s than the groups cured by conventional curing and soft start curing (p < 0.05). 4. The initial shrinkage ratios of soft start and exponential curing were statistically lower than conventional curing (p < 0.05). From this study, the use of low initial light intensities may reduce the polymerization rate and, as a result, reduce the stress of polymerization shrinkage.

When widening or repairing concrete deck slab, there is a joint inevitably. However, joining-construction method have following problem, that is the additional stress in existing part of bridge resulting from the specific process of joining-construction and the difference of amount of shrinkage between new and existing bridge. On this study, compared shrinkage stress of the direct joining construction method with the indirect joining construction method, and concluded the proper substitution rate of expansion cement. The rate of replacement was proper at $10\%$. but more than $15\%$, concrete had excessive expansion and weeker compressive strength. The time of placing closure concrete, considering the shinkage stresses and creep, was suitable in $45\~60$ days after placing the new concrete deck slab.
Sintering behavior of 3%yttria-stabilized zirconia was comparatively studied using a spray-dried powder produced by a domestic and global company. Quality of the sintered block was analysed in terms of relative density, shrinkage rate, grain growth, hardness, and fracture toughness. Relative density, shrinkage rate, and hardness value of the finally sintered block was similar between domestic and global zirconia powder, respectively. But, flexural strength of the domestic powder specimen was about 70% of the sintered block produced by using a global powder. The poor sintering quality of the domestic powder was discussed in relation with compressibility of the spray-dried granule-type powder and the amount of monoclinic phase in the as-received powder.

Recently, the internal space organization of the building changes to the frame construction and flat slab construction in the wall type structure. And the use of light weight panel changing the internal joint use easily is increased. Therefore, in this research, the length change characteristic that the magnesium chloride addition rate reaches to the magnesium curing body tries to be studied. It could confirm according to the length change specific result that the magnesium chloride amount of addition reaches to the magnesium oxide curing body to expand. And the thing described below was the large-scale expansion the magnesium oxide addition rate 60%. And it showed up as 50, 40, 30, 20, and order of 10s (%). It could look at to form the hydrate of the SEM picture result needle-shaped of the Hardened.

The sintering behavior of titanium-titanium nitride nanocomposite powders has been studied by dilatometry. Titanium. titanium nitride nanocomposite powders were produced by the reactive milling of micron sized titanium powder $(12\;{\mu}m)$ in nitrogen atmosphere. The Ti-TiN nanocomposite powders milled for various durations along with the initial micron sized Ti powders were then sintered in the temperature range of $450-1000^{\circ}C$ by a constant rate of heating $(10^{\circ}C/min)$. The linear shrinkage, shrinkage rate, activation energy for sintering and microstructure has been studied and discussed as a function of milling time.
In this study attempted to prevent defects due to blow holes among defects of sand casting products. It was intended to reduce the defect rate by reducing the blow hole of the inner surface. Currently, expectations and requirements for the quality level of non-ferrous aluminum casting in the casting industry are increasing. In addition, the shape is complex and the shrinkage precision is required. Among them, the test prototype is expensive to manufacture the mold, and the production time is also long, and the product is manufactured by sand casting. At this time, the highest defect rates are defects caused by shrinkage defects, surface defects, and blow holes.. At this study, the manufacturing time was shortened by using the shape of the fluid movement path in advance. Also, it is possible to reduce defects due to blow holes.

Focused on the material-related aspect for enhancing the durability of concrete, the present study analyzed the effect of glycol ether admixture, which is a chemical admixture that can compact the structure of concrete by entraining air inside the concrete, on the basic physical properties and durability characteristic of the concrete. In analyzing the results of experiment, we examined the basic physical properties and durability characteristic of concrete according to addition rate based on OPC and selected the optimal addition rate. In addition, with the optimal addition rate, we added glycol ether admixture to concrete, which contained fly ash used as binder and high-performance water reducing agent for reducing the unit quantity, and examined changes in the characteristics of the concrete. According to the result, the optimal addition rate of glycol ether admixture was 3% of the unit quantity of cement, and the addition of binder and chemical admixture did not have a significant effect on unhardened concrete but reduced the air content. In addition, concrete showed resistance performance of around 30% to carbonation and around 40% to drying shrinkage. In addition, as for resistance to freezing and thawing, the relative dynamic modulus of elasticity was over around 85% through atmospheric curing. These performances prove the effect.
