  • This study is for analyzing relationship between clothing and shoes design in the 20th century fashion through studying changes of fashion style. At the beginning of the 20th century, the length of skirts became shorten, so that shoes can be shown. For the result of that. shoes has been developed rapidly in its shape, color, material and ornament with having relations with clothes. The 1st World War made fashion to change into economical style. According to that, shoes also changed with regarding its activities and economical efficiency. In the middle of the 20th century. according to the development of mass media. the stars fashion influenced on the trends of clothes and shoes. As young generation. who leads fashion trends, prefer easy and active clothes, shoes also changed into easy style, sneakers were worn widely and platform sole was applied into various shoes. As a result of this study, shoes design was dynamically changed according to fashion style. The study on its functional efficiency is actively studied now however. the study of shoes design is not. • The utilized coefficient of friction (UCOF) as a ratio of the shear force to the normal force on the ground during walking is used to identify the point at which slip is likely to occur. Shoe walking will change the utilized coefficient of friction by shoe design such as sole thickness and hardness, heel shape, and outsole pattern. In this study, subjects are 21 adults (10 female, 11 male, age: $25.2{\pm}2.3yrs$, height: $165.6{\pm}7.2cm$), analysis variables were walking speed, GRF, when the UCOF is maximal, and Tangent of CoP-CoM angle, and correlation analysis with the utilized friction coefficient (UCOF). As a result, First, for the shod walking the time point which UCOF is maximum about heel strike was faster and the magnitude was larger than for barefoot walking. Second, the correlation between the tangent of CoP-CoM and UCOF of right foot was higher at the left heel striking point (UCOF2_h) which occurred in the post propulsion phase than at the right heel striking point (UCOF1_h). This suggests that the right foot UCOF is related to the braking phase of left foot( which is the propulsion phase of right foot) rather than the braking phase of right foot.

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate the relationship between anthropometric data of foot and other body sizes. to categorize the foot shape of elementary school boys and to find out determinant factors related the foot that enable us to deduce the foot shape and size for the design of more comfortable shoes. Subjects of this study were 249 elementary school boys of age ranged from 6 to 11 residing Seoul and lncheon area. Anthropometric sizes were measured with the direct measurement method using Martin scales and the indirect measurement method using digital photos. Pearson's correlation, factor analysis. cluster analysis. analysis of variance, post-hoc test, and cross tabs were performed for statistical analysis of the data by SPSS program. From the investigation on the relationship between foot-related items and body items, most items of foot measure were significantly related to body size items. However, angle of the foot did not related to other body sizes although other height items and mass items of the foot did have relationships with other body sizes. Results of ANOVA indicated there were significant differences in foot-related items except for items of foot angle and all body anthropometric items by subjects' age. This implicates big toe angle, little toe angle and foot ratio factors are required in sizing shoes besides foot length. On the basis of cluster analysis using factor scores. three different foot shapes were categorized. Type 1 was large and wide foot, Type 2 was small and narrow foot with large toe angle. and Type 3 was medium foot with no deformity on big toe. These three groups show significant differences in almost all measurement items. However, Rorher index and foot angle didn't show any significant differences among groups. This implicates the foot shape can be a determinant of shoe size.

  • The present study observes collaboration methods in which 3D printing was a part of the fashion manufacturing process, expression methods of such cases, and their ripple effects. As a result, the three types of collaborations between fashion designers and other industry fields, fashion brands and 3D printing companies, and fashion designers and artists. Case analysis results and ripple effects found according to each collaboration method were as follows. First, in collaborations found were between fashion designers and other industry fields, 3D printed fashion works with futuristic images were seen through the fusion of future industries, which claim to support cutting edge digital technology, and creative fashion design. As they were mainly collaborations between automobile industries with cutting edge images or digital related industries and fashion designers, they were expressed as a new form of experimental clothing, and were used as strategies to improve future corporate images of the high tech industry. Second, in collaborations between fashion brands and 3D printing technology businesses, the sporting good brands and the shoe industry attempted to let their products be known through the promotion of functional material or ergonomic technology. While they emphasize practicality by mainly using flexible material, they were mainly proposed as functional sporting goods for famous players or as shoe accessories, so methods are still used for public distribution as brand promoting marketing strategies. Third, with collaborations between fashion designers and artists, creative pieces were shown through the grafting of 3D printing technology, the artistry of artists, and the experimentation of fashion designers. In particular, the innovative value of fashion as art was created through the union of the artistic 3D modeling technology support of artists and the creativity of designers. Like this, 3D printing fashion can graft the cutting edge nature of fashion to other industry fields through collaborations, enhancing pacesetting images, and in the fashion field, it can improve possibilities for innovations in the fashion industry through the support of 3D printing technology businesses and artists, raising expectations towards future human living.

  • Recently a slat type ceiling is widely used in various spaces, such as music performance spaces and concourse of airport and a general reception area of a building. However, it is hard to find a proper design guideline or material useful in designing such spaces, due to the lack of relevant researches on the effect of a slat ceiling on room acoustics. The present work investigated the effect of a slat type ceiling using a physical scale model method. A 1/20 scale model of a small shoe-box type music performance hall was built and a slat ceiling with different configurations was installed. 6 cases of different ceiling configurations were considered with the combination of 2 slat ceiling height cases and 3 distance cases between slats. The effect of a slat ceiling on the acoustics of a room was evaluated by measuring reverberance($T_{30}$), intelligibility and clarity($D_{50}$ and $C_{80}$), and loudness(G and $G_{80}$).

  • This paper considers the moisture permeability and fashion in the upper fabrics of cotton fabric shoes woven into various tissues and properties measured to examine the use as upper fabrics. We measured the tissues of the manufactured upper fabric are 1/3 twill, $4{\times}4$ weft rib, Maya, Triple, Deformed twill design (DTD), Diamond tissues and tear strength, tensile strength, breaking elongation, stretching under load at 100N, stitch tear resistance, and fastness. In the case of $4{\times}4$ weft rib, the tear strength and tensile strength were excellent; however, the elongation and stitch tear resistance at 100N load were less than the standard value. DTD fabrics are characterized by physical properties in the warp direction that are superior to those in the weft direction; however, the tear strength and tensile strength in the weft direction are less than the standard value. The 1/3 twill fabrics showed high tensile strength value and stitch tear resistance value in the warp direction; however, toughness, the main property of the shoe upper, was below the standard value. Triple and diamond fabrics, which have a significant effect on the performance of the shoe upper fabric, also had less than the standard value of tear strength. Maya upper fabric for shoes has better properties than other upper fabrics except for the elongation at break, and the stitch tear resistance has a value of 178% in the warp direction and 214% in the weft direction compared to the standard value. Therefore, the Maya fabric showed the possibility of being used as an upper textile for shoes.

  • With the introduction of the law regarding severe penalties for major accidents, employers, management executives, and corporations have significantly increased the number of safety managers and invested extensively in acquiring ISO certifications to prevent accidents in industrial sites. Moreover, the implementation of the Smart Safety Management System (SSMS) has facilitated the management of personnel and safety equipment. While IoT-based management systems have been applied to safety gear such as helmets, safety harnesses, and protective clothing, the responsibility for safety shoes still primarily lies with on-site managers and individuals, leaving a vulnerability to accidents. In this study, we aim to implement a Raspberry Pi-based sensor device to proactively detect workers' safety shoe usage upon entering the site. The goal is to confirm the usage of safety shoes and prevent accidents that may occur due to non-compliance with safety shoes regulations.
