  • The main function of most ship management companies in Korea has been crew manning for foreign shipowners i.e. limited management whereas those in Norway. U, K Hong Kong Singapore and etc. have been largely involved in full management which includes ship operation maintenance and repairs chartering financial administration accounting insurance etc not to mention crew manning The shortage of supply of seamen caused by deindustrialisation and increasing GNP tends to deteriorate the profitability of ship management companies in Korea. In these circumstances they may have to expand their present business to full management in order to continue to be going concerns, This paper evaluates the roles and performances of ship management companies in Korean shipping sector during the last three decades and suggests some ideas in order to develop them identifying major barriers against their development and analysing business activities of ship management companies in advanced maritime countries.

  • 중국의 조선기술은 유구하고 찬란한 발전역사를 가지고 있으며 세계 고대 조선기술사에서 아주 중요한 자리를 차지하고 있다. 지금까지 조선기술사의 연구경향은 서양 조선기술사에 편중되어 있었기 때문에 중국 조선기술사에 관한 연구는 이러한 결함을 보완 할 것이다, 인류사회의 발전과 더불어 조선기술도 급속히 발전되었다. 송대(960-1279년)에 이르러 중국의 조선업은 크게 발전되었으며, 그 특징으로는 선박의 대형화, 조선기지와 선박수량의 현저한 증가, 조선기술의 제고와 설비의 발전으로 나타난다. 송대의 조선기술은 원명(元明)시대의 조선기술 발전에 토대를 마련하였다. 따라서 교량역할을 한 송대의 조선기술을 연구함으로써 중국의 조선기술의 발전사를 알아볼 수 있을 것이다.

  • 우리나라는 선박관리산업의 중요성을 인식한 해운업계 및 학술단체의 전문가들에 의해 지속적으로 노력한 결과 최근 국회의원의 발의에 의하여 "선박관리산업발전법안"이 제안되었다. 이러한 성과는 우리나라의 선박관리산업이 선진국 대열에 진입하게 되는 결정적인 계기가 된다고 생각한다. 이 연구는 최근 발의된 우리나라 "선박관리산업발전법안"을 각 조문별로 소개하고, 조문별 분석을 통해 법적인 문제점과 실효성을 검토하여 개선방안을 제시함으로써 향후 우리나라 선박관리산업의 발전을 위한 법과 제도의 발전에 기여하는 것을 궁극적인 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 우리나라 "선박관리산업발전법안"의 구성, 목적, 용어의 정의, 다른 법률과의 관계 등을 중심으로 개념을 소개하고, 이 법률안의 핵심이라고 할 수 있는 선박관리산업의 육성 및 지원, 그리고 선박관리우수사업자의 인증을 중심으로 구체적 실효성을 분석하였다.

  • The ship STEP is an international standard for the computer-interpretable representation of ship product information and for the exchange of ship product model data. The ship STEP consists of several APs(Application Protocol), such as AP215(ship arrangement), AP216(ship moulded form), AP218(ship structures), AP226(ship mechanical systems), and AP234(operating logs, records, message). The STEP AP216(ISO 10303) are an application protocol for the exchange of ship arrangement and ship moulded forms. The AP216 specifies the geometric shape and the hydrostatic properties of the ship moulded form. This paper introduces the state-of-the-art of ship STEP AP216 and develops the test case for the validation of data structure of AP216.

  • This paper presents a ship navigation system and automated equipments on ship board, whose technology has been quite rapidly developing in recent years. The ship owners and builders are much interested in ship automation systems, due to their comfort, safety and lower life cycle cost in ship operation. Here the basic technology and structure of the system are described, also taken into account is the future trend on the development of the system.

Efficient Re-degaussing Technique for a Naval Ship Undergoing a Breakdown in Degaussing Coils

  • A naval ship equipped with a degaussing system may undergo a breakdown in degaussing coils at sea. In the case, underwater magnetic field around the ship abruptly grows up and it can make the ship be easily exposed to fatal hazards such as magnetic mines or torpedoes. This paper proposes an efficient and practical re-degaussing technique for a ship where a part of degaussing coils is out of order. To achieve this, an analytical design sensitivity formula and approximated degaussing coil field are exploited, and then new optimum currents of available coils are reassessed. To validate the proposed method, a muck-up ship equipped with 14 degaussing coils is tested in scale-down magnetic treatment facilities under three faulty coil conditions.

  • Recently there are operating the Floating Vessel with the positioning control unit in ocean. This technology is not open to industrial society as exclusive one. In order to improve technical competition for its domestic product. It is required to develope the relevant product like above subject. This system consist of DGPS System, Unique Analysis, System Network, and Mooring System and so on. Accordingly Model/Field test were carried out to verify its Function / Performance for application of practical product. In this development, we have prepared the successful result to operate the speedy / accurate / stable unit as shown on this subject 'Development of Positioning Control System for Ship and Offshore using the DGPS'. And also it is expected to install this product for ship and offshore unit.

실적 함정의 중량추정 분석 연구 (A Study on the Analysis of the Weight Estimation of Built Naval Ships)

  • In this study, the estimating weight data of eight leading ships of Korea navy were processed by comparing with the final weight data of their incline test results statistically, and are analyzed as follows; The maximum criteria of the weight margins of Korea naval ship in the preliminary and detailed design phases seem to be appropriate values, but the minimum criteria would be advisable to update more reasonable values. And, the limitation that the acceptable deviation of lightship weight should be 10 % of the lightship weight on a naval ship's ROC(Required Operational Capabilities) is recommended to be prohibited, because it comes from the weight estimation which has considerable uncertainty and it may also drop off design flexibility. Finally, the SWBS(Ship Work Breakdown System) groups which have larger deviation values in the estimating weight of naval ships are necessary to improve their accuracies, and to upgrade their weight database continuously.

선체 진동 특성 규명을 위한 기여도 분석 (Contribution Analysis to Identify the Source of Ship Hull Vibration)

  • The vibration of a ship gives a significant effect on the noise radiated into the water. This paper focused on the vibration of ship hull due to the sub-generator located on the deck in the anchored condition. The contributions of the transfer paths between sub-generator and ship hull were analyzed using the TPA and the OTPA method. While the sub-generator was operation and the main engine was turned off, the vibrations were measured simultaneously at the 38 locations of the ship and the one hydrophone was arranged to measure the underwater radiated noise at the overside ship. The results of the transfer path by applying TPA and OTPA were compared and discussed. As a result of these methods, the top of stovepipe and valve are contributive. Reinforcing these structures is the most effective to reduce the vibration of ship hull.

수중정보 획득을 위한 무인원격선체 개발 (Development of Remote Control Ship for Acquisition of Underwater Information)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 수중의 다양한 공간정보를 무인으로 획득할 수 있는 무인원격선체를 개발하는데 있다. 무인원격 선체는 GPS, 음향측심기, 사이드스캔소나, 지층탐사기 등을 탑재하고 자동제어에 의한 방법으로 내수면 및 연안해역의 수중공간정보를 획득하는 기능을 수행한다. 무인 원격 수중 공간정보 획득장비를 개발함으로써, 기존의 측량선을 이용하기가 어려운 저수지, 댐 등의 지역 및 오염으로 인해 사람이 접근하기 불가능한 지역의 각종 수중정보 취득이 가능할 것으로 기대된다. 또한 하나의 선체에 다중빔 에코사운더, 영상센서, 수질측정 센서 등 사용목적에 맞는 센서를 장착하여 다목적으로 사용할 수 있으므로 내수면과 관련된 정보의 획득을 필요로 하는 거의 모든 산업분야에서의 경제적인 활용이 가능할 것으로 판단된다.
