흉부 X선촬영 조건에 따르는 의료피폭에 관한 조사연구 (A Survey on Medical Radiation Dose by the Radiographic Conditions of Chest)

  • It is a matter of common knowledge that madical radiation is most accented for of radiation is doses applied to the whole of people, and of them the radation dose by radiography diagnosis is mainly prevalent. In applying X-rays to a certain man for radiography diagnosis a radiologyist will have to have an absolute sense of mission concerning the reduction and prevention of the patient's radiation dose as the radiologyist obligation. Accordingly, the radiography conditions of the patient's chest employed 197 medical facilites were surveyed and skin dose was computated by the IPH Bit system and examined. As a result, it was shown that the average skin dose was $288\;{\mu}Sv$, its minimum value was $1600\;{\mu}Sv$, which was over 32 times its minimum value. This shows that the appropriate radiography method has not been applied at applying X-ray to the patient. It comes from the performance of X-ray equipment, the choice of auxiliary equipment materials etc. But the most important thing is to master the appropriate radiography condition, and therefore this point will have to be kept in mind.

  • For the clearer visualization of the lung apices in the routine chest P-A view, we have analysed the films at the different positions and different directions of the central X-ray beams. The brief results are as the follows. 1. Best visualization of the lung apices are made with the following position of the patient and central ray. Central ray is directed to the median sagittal plane at the level of the 5th thoracic vertebra with the palms of the hands placing at the greater trochanteric area of the both femurs. 2. The position of the sterno-clavicular joint shows no alteration between the radiographs with the central beam to the film center and to the 5th thoracic vertebra, and position of the hands at the greater trochanters or iliac crests. 3. No relationship exists between the center of the film and the position of the hand. The central beam is projected more inferiorly when the beam is centered to the film center than to the 5th thoracic vertebra. 4. The scapulae are rotated sufficiently anteriorly and more inferiorly, with placing the palms at the greater trochanters, directing central ray to the 5th thoracic vertebra, and with close contact the lung apices to the cassette.

Silica를 함유하는 Polyurethane dispersion 투습방수 Film의 제조 (Fabrication of Silica-Containing Breathable Waterproof Polyurethane Dispersion Film)

  • Silica-polyurethane hybrid breathable films were prepared and their breathabilities were assessed. Appropriately aggregated silica was prepared through sol-gel reaction of water glass and its particle size ranged 360~500nm. The polyurethane dispersion was prepared by the reaction of isophorone diisocyanate(IPDI) as diisocyanate and polytetramethylene glycol(PTMG) and dimethylol propionic acid(DMPA) as polyol, particle size ranging 30~120nm. The reaction between isocyanate and hydroxyl group to form urethane bonding was checked by the intensity of the stretch peak of isocyanate at $2270cm^{-1}$ in the FT-IR. The silica was incorporated into polyurethane dispersion and casted into film. It was shown that the incorporated silica(1~5wt.%) increased water vapour permeability of the films by 30~100%, and decreased the hydrostatic pressure by 10~40%. From the results, it could be concluded that the appropriate hybridization of silica can increase the breathability of polyurethane dispersion film, while minimizing the loss of hydrostatic pressure.

Novel Cationic Microbial Polyglucosamine Biopolymer from New Enterobacter sp. BL-2 and Its Bioflocculation Efficacy

  • A new bacterium BL-2 excreting a novel cationic polyglucosamine biopolymer was isolated from the spoiled leaves of Chinese cabbage and identified as Enterobacter sp. BL-2. The isolated Enterobacter sp. BL-2 was cultivated in pH-stat fed-batch culture using acetic acid as the feeding stock at pH 8.0, resulting in 17.11 g/l of cells and 1.53 g/l of an extracellular biopolymer after 72 h. The excreted biopolymer was purified by a three-step procedure, involving ethanol precipitation and deproteinizations, to a nearly homogeneous state, and its molecular weight was found to be 106 kDa. It was composed of glucosamine, rhamnose, and galactose at a molar ratio of 86.4:1.6:1.0, respectively, indicating a rarely found novel high-glucosamine-containing biopolymer. The FT-IR and $^{13}C-NMR$ spectra of the novel cationic polyglucosamine biopolymer PGB-l revealed a close identity with chitosan from crab shell. It can effectively flocculate various suspended solids, including kaolin clay, $Ca(OH)_2,\;Al_{2}O_3$, active carbon, microbial cells, and acidic dyes.

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to shed light on the healthcare management systems in correlation with the advancing technological world, as well as the many diversified systems in different Asian countries. Research design, data, and methodology - This is a comprehensive study on the past researches that have been conducted on the field of healthcare management in different Asian countries. The different types of healthcare coverages were examined by country. Additionally, incorporating the healthcare system with technology is also investigated in this research. Results - The results have shown that there is a rapid incorporation of the technology in today's society with the healthcare systems. This has promising effects for the future, and for the different healthcare systems that exist within other Asian countries around the world. Conclusion - Quality healthcare for people are still elusive, and the healthcare management should improve on ways to better take care of their patients for the near future. By shedding light on the healthcare systems of Asian countries, an idea of the similarities and differences each hold can be assessed and utilized for future goals. By incorporating technology into healthcare systems, this will help in improving the overall care and quality-of-life that patients receive for the future.

  • 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 기술을 근간으로 하는 차세대 디지털 홈 서비스 및 기술 분야는 지난 수년 동안 높은 관심과 노력을 기울여온 일본과 한국의 경우, 선의의 기술 경쟁과 기술 표준 공조를 병행하는 상황이다. 본 논문은 2004년 5월 현재 국내 및 일본의 유비쿼터스 홈 기술에 대한 동향을 조사하기 위한 일환으로 양국의 유비쿼터스 홈 전시관들을 방문한 기술 동향에 대하여 논한다. 이러한 기술적 동향을 파악함으로써 일본의 세계적인 기업과 연구소들이 추구하는 기술 및 접근 방법과 우리의 내용과의 비교를 통하여 서로의 장점을 사업화할 수 있는 방안을 모색할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

편면 증감지 -필름계의 성능실험 (An Experiment on Single Screen-Film System)

  • Single screen-film systems have been used to soft tissue radiography, especially to mammo-graphy, for the Purpose of reducing patient dose, Recently, by the development of rare earth screens, they are being used to general radiography including stomach radiography. Single screen-film systems have lower speeds, but higher resolutions than double screen-film systems. And so, they can produce high image quality in oblique radiography and tomography. Authors have tested basic and physical characteristics of sigle screen-film systems, and applied them in clinical fields. Hereupon, we evaluate the sin91e rare earth screen-film systems very practicable, because they have higher speeds and higher image quality than double screen-film systems.

  • Authors have investigated actual conditions of 22 hospitals throughout the Seoul district to evaluate of chest radiographic systems. The results are as followed: 1. Concerning exposure factors, most hospitals have used low tube voltage, merely two hospitals high tube voltage, that is, over 120 kVp. Roughly halves of intensifying screens have been used in hospitals were medium speed screens, and the rests were high speed screens. 2, Surface doses existed within wide range of $10{\sim}63.5mR$, and image quality value were $5.60{\sim}7.49$. 3. The minimum perceptibility of Burger Phantom have been increased with contrast improvement.

고온고습 전원인가 시험에서 Cl에 의한 이온 마이그레이션 불량 (Chlorine effect on ion migration for PCBs under temperature-humidity bias test)

  • By the trends of electronic package to be more integrative, the fine Cu trace pitch of organic PCB is required to be a robust design. In this study, the short circuit failure mechanism of PCB with a Cl element under the Temperature humidity bias test ($85^{\circ}C$/85%RH/3.5V) was examined by micro-structural study. A focused ion beam (FIB) and an electron probe micro analysis (EPMA) were used to polish the cross sections to reveal details of the microstructure of the failure mode. It is found that $CuCl_x$ were formed and grown on Cu trace during the $170^{\circ}C$/3hrs and that $CuCl_x$ was decomposed into Cu dendrite and $Cl_2$ gas during the $85^{\circ}C$/85%RH/3.5V. It is suggested that Cu dendrites formed on Cu trace lead to a short circuit failure between a pair of Cu traces.

  • In the vertical drain method, discharge capacity is generally one of the most important factor which affect on the estimation of the drain efficiency. However, adopting the drain considering discharge capacity only is not sufficiently considered method so that systematic criteria for adoption is necessary to choose the most suitable drain. Therefore, this study represents the application method considering behavior of the ground and vertical drain which is coupled together and ground improvement efficiency analyzing various cases of discharge capacity test performed in the recent soft ground improvement projects. According to the analysis, most drains tend to satisfy the required discharge capacity. It presents that deformed shape of the drains and well resistance estimation along the ground settlement, improvement efficiency by water content ratio along the depth and shear strength obtained after ground improvement should be considered altogether with the discharge capacity to select the proper drain. Also, appropriate adoption of drain material considering the ground condition is vital through analyzing the field measured data and comparing the result of the discharge capacity test as various vertical drain materials are being constructed continuously.
