  • In spite of increasing complexity of wireless sensor network applications, most of the sensor node platforms still have severe resource constraints. Especially a small amount of memory and absence of a memory management unit (MMU) cause many problems in managing application thread stacks. Hence, a shared-stack was proposed, which allows several threads to share one single stack for minimizing the amount of memory wasted by fixed-size stacks. In this paper, we present the memory usage models for thread stacks by deriving the overflow probability of the fixed-size stack and the shared-stack and also show that the shared-stack is more reliable than the fixed-size stack.

  • The process of tracking suspicious behavior manually on a system and gathering evidence are labor-intensive, variable, and experience-dependent. The system logs are the most important sources for evidences in this process. However, in the Microsoft Windows operating system, the action events are irregular and the log structure is difficult to audit. In this paper, we propose a model that overcomes these problems and efficiently analyzes Microsoft Windows logs. The proposed model extracts lists of both common and key events from the Microsoft Windows logs to determine detailed actions. In addition, we show an approach based on the proposed model applied to track illegal file access. The proposed approach employs three-step tracking templates using Elastic Stack as well as key-event, common-event lists and identify event lists, which enables visualization of the data for analysis. Using the three-step model, analysts can adjust the depth of their analysis.

  • The Stack Resource Policy (SRP) is a real-time synchronization protocol with some distinct properties. One of such properties is early blocking; the execution of a job is delayed instead of being blocked when requesting shared resources. If SRP is used with dynamic priority scheduling such as Earliest Deadline First (EDF), the early blocking requires that a scheduler should select the highest-priority job among the jobs that will not be blocked, incurring runtime overhead. In this paper, we analyze the runtime overhead of EDF scheduling when SRP is used. We find out that the overhead of job search using the conventional implementations of ready queue and job search algorithms becomes serious as the number of jobs increases. To solve this problem, we propose an alternative data structure for the ready queue and an efficient job-search algorithm with O([log$_2n$]) time complexity.

  • This paper explains a system that is suitable for detecting software error running on multimedia distance control for transportation safety environment. This system consists of an ED, and ES. ED is an agent that detects an error by hooking techniques for multimedia distance education based on IP-USN gateway software stack environment. ES is an agent that is an error sharing system for multimedia distance control based on IP-USN gateway software stack environment. From the perspective of multimedia collaborative environment, an error application becomes another interactive presentation error is shared with participants engaged in a cooperative work.

  • In this paper, we will design a 800MHz broadband antenna after a problem of the narrow bandwidth is improved. This multiple band antenna unifies the CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access), GSM(Global System for Mobile Telecommunication) and TRS(Trunked Radio System) band in the UHF band, and then it is possible at the shore base station or repeater as the commercial use. It used the duplex resonance effect it had the L-shared feeding structure which adds the U-slot. And it improved profit using stack structure. It was measured that the frequency bandwidth of the designed antenna which is planed $792{\sim}1040MHz$ with 248MHz(33%). And the antenna gain is 9.4dBi, 3dB beam width $60^{\circ}$ in radiation pattern.

  • To provide interactive sonics in HFC(Hybrid Fiber Coax)-CATV network, there must be supported a MAC(Medium Access Control) protocol. It is wet known that collision can be occurred in the HFC upstream channel because it is shared by up to 500 users. Thus it needs the collision resolution algorithm. Consequently, this paper proposes the analysis mood to study stability of binary stack algorithm for adaptive collision resolution algorithm in HFC-CATV. Also, it compares a system throughput between IPP model and D-BMAP model.

  • Microbial rhodopsins are a superfamily of photoactive membrane proteins with the covalently bound retinal cofactor. Isomerization of the retinal chromophore upon absorption of a photon triggers conformational changes of the protein to function as ion pumps or sensors. After the discovery of proteorhodopsin in an uncultivated γ-proteobacterium, light-activated proton pumps have been widely detected among marine bacteria and, together with chlorophyll-based photosynthesis, are considered as an important axis responsible for primary production in the biosphere. Rhodopsins and related proteins show a high level of phylogenetic diversity; we focus on a specific class of bacterial rhodopsins containing the '3 omega motif.' This motif forms a stack of three non-consecutive aromatic amino acids that correlates with the B-C loop orientation and is shared among the phylogenetically close ion pumps such as the NDQ motif-containing sodium-pumping rhodopsin, the NTQ motif-containing chloride-pumping rhodopsin, and some proton-pumping rhodopsins including xanthorhodopsin. Here, we reviewed the recent research progress on these 'omega rhodopsins,' and speculated on their evolutionary origin of functional diversity.

  • An Ad Hoc network is a dynamic multi-hop wireless network that is established by a group of mobile hosts on a shared wireless channel by virtue of their proximity to each other. Since wireless transmissions are locally broadcast in the region of the transmitting host, hosts that are in close proximity can hear each other and are said to be neighbors. The transitive closure of the neighborhood of all the hosts in the set of mobile hosts under consideration forms an Ad Hoc network. Thus, each host is potentially a router and it is possible to dynamically establish routes by chaining together a sequence of neighboring hosts from a source to a destination in the Ad Hoc network. In a network, various real-time services require the network to guarantee the Quality of Services provided to the receiver. End-to-end QoS can be provided most efficiently when each layer of the protocol stack translates the requirements of the application into layer classified requirements and satisfies them. In this study, a mechanism to guarantee the QoS in Ad Hoc networks with buffer nodes is proposed. They effectively prevent traffic congestion and yield better transmission rate. In this way QoS is enhanced.

  • PCI Express is a bus technology that connects the processor and the peripheral I/O devices that widely used as an industry standard because it has the characteristics of high-speed, low power. In addition, PCI Express is system interconnect technology such as Ethernet and Infiniband used in high-performance computing and computer cluster. PGAS(partitioned global address space) programming model is often used to implement the one-sided RDMA(remote direct memory access) from multi-host systems, such as computer clusters. In this paper, we design and implement a OpenSHMEM API based on PCI Express maintaining the existing features of OpenSHMEM to implement RDMA based on PCI Express. We perform experiment with implemented OpenSHMEM API through a matrix multiplication example from system which PCs connected with NTB(non-transparent bridge) technology of PCI Express. The PCI Express interconnection network is currently very expensive and is not yet widely available to the general public. Nevertheless, we actually implemented and evaluated a PCI Express based interconnection network on the RDK evaluation board. In addition, we have implemented the OpenSHMEM software stack, which is of great interest recently.
