차량 차체 설계 (Automotive Body Design)

  • In an automotive body structure, a design configuration that fulfills structural requirements such as deflection, stiffness and strength is necessary for structural design and is composed of various components. The integrated design is used to obtain a minimum weight structure with optimal or feasible performance based on conflicting constraints and boundaries. The mechanical design must begin with the definition of one or more concepts for structure and specification requirements in a given application environment. Structural optimization is then introduced as an integral part of the product design and used to yield a superior design to the conventional linear one. Although finite element analysis has been firmly established and extensively used in the past, geometric and material nonlinear analyses have also received considerable attention over the past decades. Also, nonlinear analysis may be useful in the area of structural designs where instability phenomena can include critical design criteria such as plastic strain and residual deformation. This proposed approach can be used for complicated structural analysis for an integrated design process with the nonlinear feasible local flexibilities between system and subsystems.

항균제에 의한 기저귀 발진을 일으키는 Candida albicans 억제 효과 (The Effect of Antibacterial Agent for Candida albicans Inhibition of Diaper Rash)

  • Diaper rash is found on the skin inside of babys diaper area. Most diaper rashes are caused by prolonged contact with the moisture, germs, and ammonia of the stool and urine. Some diaper rashes are caused by fungi infection such as candida albicans and Preteus vulgaris. In this study, Candida albicans was used as a test microorganism and experiment was carried out to inhibit diaper rash. Handsheets were treated with chitosan oligosaccharide, bamboo extractives, as well as mixture of monolaurin as an emulsifier and bamboo extractives. Both shake flask method and halo test were applied in order to examine the antimicrobial activity of each sample. It was found from both results of the halo test and shake flask method that handsheets treated with chitisan oligosaccharide or bamboo extractives showed antimicrobial property. In the treatment of bamboo extractives without emulsifier, no distinct difference in antimicrobial effect was found between bamboo branch and bamboo leaves extractives. In case of mixture of bamboo extractives and emulsifier, the result also suggested that bamboo branch showed better syngergistic effect than bamboo leaves. Both chitosan oligosaccharide and bamboo extractive can be used as antifungal agents against Candida albicans for making diaper.

  • In this study, a full scale 3-axes shake table test for M-bar and T-bar type ceilings commonly used in the country was conducted. Through damage inspection during the test, seismic performance of ceilings according to variables, such as clearance between wall mold and ceiling as well as existence of facilities, was evaluated. A test frame consisted of square hollow section members was used for the shake table test. The experimental method was performed as a fragility test using required response spectrum described in ICC-ES AC156. In the case of architectural nonstructural component that contain ceilings, it mainly is evaluated the performance by post-test visual inspection. For the evaluation of seismic performance of ceilings, this study classified and defined damaged items for targeted ceiling system referring to illustrative damage according to nonstructural performance levels accordance with ASCE 41 and previous studies. And proposed illustrative damage items classification was utilized to compare the degree of the damage according to experimental variables. The experiment results confirmed that differences in boundary conditions due to the clearance at wall mold and the installation of facilities had a significant effect on the seismic performance of the ceiling.

지진재해예측을 위한 HAZUS와 ShakeMap의 한반도에서의 적용가능성 연구 (A Preliminary Study of the Global Application of HAZUS and ShakeMap for Loss Estimation from a Scenario Earthquake in the Korean Peninsula)

  • 미국의 FEMA와 NIBS에서 개발한 HAZUS-MH는 GIS를 기반시스템으로 하는 자연재해 전후의 피해정도를 평가 및 분석하는 재해정보시스템이다. 본 연구에서는 HAZUS-MH를 한반도의 일부지역에 시범적으로 적용하고, 그 운영에서의 효율성 및 문제점을 제시한다. 한반도 지진관련 연구자료 및 역사지진자료를 토대로 경상남북도를 적용대상지역으로 선정하였다. 연구지역에서 발생한 지진 중 인명피해가 있었던 서기 779년 경주에서 발생한 규모 6.7의 지진을 선택하여, 이 지진이 2000년도에 재발생하였다는 가정 하에 HAZUS를 적용하였다. 이 시스템을 적용하여 연구지역의 지진재해를 예측할 때 USGS에서 제공하는 ShakeMap의 지진동자료를 이용하였다. 이러한 연구를 통하여 미국의 HAZUS가 한반도에도 적용가능하다는 것을 알 수 있었으며, 한반도 전 지역에서 발생하는 모든 자연재해에 대하여 HAZUS를 적용한다면 우리나라의 자연재해에 의한 피해를 예측하고 대응하는데 효율적으로 이용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

유기산 혼합물 및 돈사폐수를 이용한 Poly (3-Hydroxybutyrate-Co-3-Hydroxyvalerate)의 생산 (Production of Biodegradable Plastics, Poly (3-Hydroxybutyrate-Co-3-Hydroxyvalerate) from Organic Aicd Mixtures and Swine Waste)

  • The readily fermentable carbon sources in swine were acetic acid, propionic acid and butyric acid at the average concentrations of 7.2 g/L, 2.2 g/L and 2.7 g/L, respectively. The swine waste also contained excess nitrogen and other mineral sources. In shake flask experiments, the optimal range of cell growth for Azotobacter vinelandii UWD were 1.0∼3.5 g/L of acetic acid, 0.7∼2.0 g/L of propionic acid and 0.5∼2.0 g/L of butyric acid. A mixture of these three acids simulating two times diluted swine waste supported the best cell growth but the amount of carbon sources was limited. In shake flask and fermentor experiments, an addition of 30 g/L of glucose increased the final cell dry weight 8 times while the final poly (3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV) concentration increased 86 times compared with using acid mixture only. A. vinelandii UWD preferred organic acids in the sequence of acetic acid, propionic acid, butyric acid, and valeric acid.

  • Based on the flow patterns of cylindrical vessel, the flow patterns of conical vessel, spherical vessel, rectangular vessel and cylindrical vessel with baffles were visualized by a trace method using aluminum powder. In addition, the correlations of the critical circulating frequency for mixing were derived from the experimental results. The conical and spherical vessels which have circular cross sections were same effective as cylindrical vessel for the shake mixing due to developing the rotational flow. Both a rectangular vessel and a cylindrical vessel with baffles should not be adapted for shake mixing because of not developing rotational flows in these type of vessels.

식품보존제를 이용한 항균지 제조 (Manufacture of Antimicrobial Paper Using Food Preservative)

  • The functions of food packaging are not only prevention from physical damage and loss during carrying and transportation, but also extension of shelf-life by adding antimicrobial substrate in packaging materials. Consumption of active packaging is gradually increasing. With different dosage of potassium sorbate(P.S.), the food preservative agent, antimicrobial papers were made by internal and external application of starch. The antimicrobial action of the paper was analyzed by the halo test and the shake flask method. The mechanical properties and strength were also measured. Antimicrobial papers adding P.S. showed higher values in tensile index than adding starch. The antimicrobial paper using starch showed similar microbe decreasing rate as that using P.S. Though microbe decreasing rate was 21.9%, it showed possibility to make antimicrobial paper using food preservative.

  • This paper presents modal contribution method to reduce vehicle vibration. Normal mode analysis is performed to obtain modal vector matrix. The proposed method uses this modal vector matrix to evaluate forced response of an active mode to the applied engine forces and the rotating force due to wheel unbalance mass. Comparing the responses, of the specific active mode with one another, it can be easily done to determine most contributed mode in the interesting frequency band. Then we can find dominant bushes by the strain energy distribution of the mode. Vibration response is decrease with modification of those bushes.

  • SHAKE 프로그램을 이용하여 연약지반으로 분포되어 있는 방콕지역에 대한 지진표답을 지표면의 가속도응답 스펙트럼과 최대 가속도로서 분석하였다. 기초암반의 최대 가속도와 부월주기가 증가됨에 따라 지표면의 최대 가속도는 증가되고 그 값은 0.3g 로 수관되었다. 아울러 지진응답 스펙트럼의 성질에 대해서도 설명되었다.
