Shadow Removal via Attention Mechanism and Recurrent Network (주의 매커니즘 기반 피드백 신경망을 이용한 그림자 제거 방법)

  • 대부분의 영상에 존재하는 그림자는 다양한 딥러닝 기반 영상처리 작업을 수행함에 방해가 되는 요소이다. 영상 내 그림자는 다양한 광원과 다양한 물체들의 상호작용에 의해 복잡하게 생성되며 이를 제거하는 것을 통해 다양한 Computer Vision task의 성능을 향상시킬 수 있다. 이 논문에서는 영상 내 그림자를 감지하여 Attention mechanism을 통해 그림자를 제거하고 Recurrent 하게 작업을 수행하며 복잡한 그림자를 단계적으로 제거하는 네트워크를 구현하였으며, Recurrent 한 네트워크에서 이전 단계의 데이터를 다음 단계에 효율적으로 전달하는 방식에 대한 실험을 수행하였다.

Loitering Behavior Detection Using Shadow Removal and Chromaticity Histogram Matching (그림자 제거와 색도 히스토그램 비교를 이용한 배회행위 검출)

  • Proposed in this paper is the intelligent video surveillance system to effectively detect multiple loitering objects even that disappear from the out of camera's field of view and later return to a target zone. After the background and foreground are segmented using Gaussian mixture model and shadows are removed, the objects returning to the target zone is recognized using the chromaticity histogram and the duration of loitering is preserved. For more accurate measurement of the loitering behavior, the camera calibration is also applied to map the image plane to the real-world ground. Hence, the loitering behavior can be detected by considering the time duration of the object's existence in the real-world space. The experiment was performed using loitering video and all of the loitering behaviors are accurately detected.

Efficient Shadow-Test Algorithm for the Simulation of Dry Etching and Topographical Evolution (건식 식각 공정 시뮬레이션을 위한 효율적인 그림자 테스트 알고리즘과 토포그래피 진화에 대한 연구)

  • In this paper, we report 3D-simulations of a plasma etching process by employing cell-removal algorithm takes into account the mask shadow effect os well as spillover errors. The developed simulator haas an input interface to take not only an analytic form but a Monte Carlo distribution of the ions. The graphic user interface(GUI) was also built into the simulator for UNIX environment. To demonstrate the capability of 3D-SURFILER(SURface proFILER), we have simulated for a typical contact hole structure with 36,000($30{\times}40{\times}30$) cells, which takes about 20 minutes with 10 Mbytes memory on sun ultra sparc 1. as an exemplary case, we calculated the etch profile during the reactive ion etching(RIE) of a contact hole wherein the aspect ratio is 1.57. Furthermore, we also simulated the dependence of a damage parameter and the evolution of topography as a function of the chamber pressure and the incident ion flux.

  • Efficient removal of nickel from the ferric chloride etching solution has been studied. At first, $Fe^{3+}$ was reduced to $Fe^{2+}$ by the electrolytic iron flake or the waste shadow mask iron plate. And then, $Ni^{2+}$ was removed from the solution by electrolytic iron powder. Under the optimum conditions the reduced rates of nickel were 99 % and 98%, respectively at the initial $Ni^{2+}$ concentrations of 1.0% and 0.1%. Sludge formed during reduction of $Fe^{3+}$ in the solution were analyzed by XRD and SEM.

  • One of future remote sensing techniques for the estimation of damage by storm and flood is the extraction of water area, which could be the basis of measuring the damage by storm and flood and estimate restoration cost. This paper introduces an approach to damage estimation using satellite Image. The project site was Ansung area and a set of Radarsat-1 SAR image at 6.25m resolution was used for the test. Authors investigated methods of SAR image processing such as shadow-effect removal, orthorectification of SAR image and calculation of damage area by flood. Consequetly, this study showed that technique improvement of image processing and the best of result for extracting water area. Also, found the new possibility of damage estimation using satellite image.

  • A 45 year old man was admitted for further examination of an abnormal shadow of the right posterior mediastinum. The patient suffered from dysesthesia in the right thoracic wall of dermatome T7. CT scan and MRI revealed that two separate tumors had developed in the right paravertebral area linked to the vertebral canal via an intervertebral foramina. One-stage removal of the tumors were performed safely through the right posterolateral thoracotomy following the resection of the rib head and vertebral pedicle. The tumors were confirmed as histologically neurilemomas. The postoperative course was uneventful.

  • Many mobile robot navigation methods utilize laser scanners, ultrasonic sensors, vision camera, and so on for detecting obstacles and path following. However, human utilizes only vision(e.g. eye) information for navigation. In this paper, we study a mobile robot control method based on only the camera vision. The Gaussian Mixture Model and a shadow removal technology are used to divide the foreground and the background from the camera image. The mobile robot uses a combined CAMSHIFT and KLT feature tracker algorithms based on the information of the foreground to follow a person. The algorithm is verified by experiments where a person is tracked and followed by a robot in a hallway.

  • SAR image is not dependent on the weather condition and Sun's electromagnetic energy. But geometric distortions exist in almost all radar image, it need to be correction. The Radarsat-1 SAR images are used to monitoring of moisture acquired in May 1/1998 and May 25/1998. Radarsat-1 C band data is sensitive on moisture condition. Study area is located in Non-san site. It is made up almost agricultural area and a little of forest area. In May, Rice-planting is started in the midland of Korea. So moisture condition is undergoing many changes. Forest area need to be terrain effect removal for accurately results because it is included in layover, shadow, and so on. Results of land-cover moisture condition map are useful tool for fields of agriculture, forestry industry, and disaster.

  • In this paper, we report the result of the three-dimensional topography simultor, 3D-SURFILER(SURface proFILER) for the simulation of topographical evalution of the surface, curing a plasma etching process. We employed cell-removal algorithm to represent the topographical evoluation of the surface. The visibility with shadow effect was developed and applied to the spillover algorithm. To demonstrate the capability of 3D-SURFILER, we compared with simulated profiles with the SEM picture for dry and reactive ion etching(RIE) of the Si$_{3}$N$_{4}$ film and Pt film.

  • 본 논문에서는 효과적인 객체 추적을 위해 가우시언 믹스처 기반의 그림자 제거 알고리즘을 제안하고, GPGPU(General Purpose GPU) 아키텍처인 NVIDIA 사의 CUDA(Compute Unified Device Architecture)를 이용하여 기존의 객체 추적 알고리즘의 컴퓨팅 시간을 개선하는 모델을 제안한다. 이 시스템은 GPU를 이용한 가우시언 믹스처 모델 기반의 객체 추적 알고리즘으로 전경과 배경 분리 시 CPU와 GPU의 프로세스 시간을 적절히 분배하여 소모되는 연산시간을 줄이고, 고 해상도의 이미지에서의 객체 분리 및 추적의 시스템 처리량을 최대화 한다. 객체 추출 후 효과적인 추적을 위해 예측 모델인 칼만 필터를 사용한다.
