오수처리용 인공습지내 토양의 이화학적 특성조사 (A Study on the Physical and Chemical Characteristics of the Constructed Wetland Soil for Sewage Treatment)

  • The soil from constructed wetland system for sewage treatment was analyzed to examine physical and chemical characteristics. Clogging and lowered permeability were the physical matters of concern, and nutrient and salt accumulation were the chemical matters of concern. However, the soil properties of the constructed wetland system after 3 year operation demonstrated no degradation and still the soil works almost same as the initial stage. Encouragingly, no sludge accumulation was observed inside the system. Therefore, it implies that the wetland sewage treatment system can work continuously as long as it is operated and managed properly not to cause excessive pollutant loading.

  • This study is to develop and operate the R-FCE(Real-time Fuzzy Control Expert System) model on the SBR(Sequency Batch Reactors) type sewage disposal facility which is for the environmental problem of future and the effective treatment. It is the system that regularly handles the input, output information in real time by the Fuzzy control IF-THEN rule. Nowadays the water pollution caused by the increase of population and the industrialization already exceeds the purifying ability of nature and is getting worse. The sewage disposal facility needs an expert having wide experience and know-how because the quality or quantity of inflow water is so irregular that the process of sewage disposal is difficult. In the nation, however, the accumulation of technology is so weak because field-operators avoid the long-term duty. So the accurate and speedy decision or control of field are difficult in the case of emergency situation.

인공습지 오수처리수를 이용한 벼재배 실험 (Paddy Rice Culture Experiment Using Treated Sewage Effluent From Constructed Wetland)

  • A pilot study was performed at the experimental field of Konkuk University in Seoul, to examine the feasibility of the constructed wetland system for sewage and the effect of treated sewage irrigation on the paddy rice culture and its soil characteristics. The constructed wetland performed well, in that effluent concentrations of pollutants were significantly lower than concentrations of the influent. Median removal efficiencies of BOD$_{5}$ was about 78% and slightly lower during winter. Removal efficiencies form TN and TP were approximately 48 and 21%, respectively, and relatively less effective than that of BOD$_{5}$. Irrigation of treated sewage to paddy rice culture did not affect adversely in both growth and yield of rice. Instead, plots of treated sewage irrigation showed up to 50% more yield in average than the control plot. It implies that treated sewage irrigation might be beneficial to rice culture rather than detrimental as long as it is treated adequately and used properly. Soil was sampled and analyzed before transplanting and after harvesting. pH was slightly increased due to irrigation water, but it may not be concerned as long as the treated sewage is within the normal range. EC was increased in first year but decreased in second year, therefore salts accumulation in the soil could be less concerned. OM and CES was slightly increased, which might be beneficial on growing plants. TN did not show apparent pattern. Available phosphorus was decreased after rice culture, but the quantity of phosphorus(TP-available phosphorus) was rather increased which implies that excessive phosphorus supply may result in phosphorus accumulation in the soil. Overall, the constructed wetland was thought to be an effective sewage treatment alternative, and treated sewage could be reused as a supplemental source of irrigation water for paddy rice culture without causing adverse effect as long as it is treated adequately and used properly. For full-scale application, further investigation should be followed on environmental risk assessment, tolerable water quality, and fraction of supplemental irrigation.ion.

  • 최근 하수처리업무는 도시인구의 증가 및 하수처리기준의 강화로 인해 대부분의 도시에서 하수처리 시설의 신설 및 증설문제가 대두되고 있다. 본 연구는 하수처리시설의 증설에 대비하여 중요시설의 유지관리에 필수적인 도형 및 속성정보의 효율적인 관리를 위한 자료관리 Library 개발하는데 목적이 있다. 본 연구에서는 하수처리장 유지관리에 필요한 도형 및 속성정보의 자료관리 Library를 개발하였으며, 청주시환경사업소를 대상으로 하수처리시설의 유지관리업무의 현황을 분석하고 데이터베이스 설계를 수행하여 이를 토대로 하수처리장 유지관리에 적합한 시스템을 개발하였다. 하수처리장 유지관리시스템은 도형정보와 속성정보를 조작하기 위한 기본기능과 하수처리 관련업무를 처리하기 위한 응용기능으로 나누어 개발하였으며, 본 연구를 통해 개발된 시스템이 하수처리장의 효율적인 유지관리에 기여할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

수열탄화를 이용한 하수 슬러지의 고형연료화 및 에너지 회수 효율 (Hydrothermal carbonization of sewage sludge for solid recovered fuel and energy recovery)

  • Recently, Korea's municipal wastewater treatment plants generated amount of wastewater sludge per day. However, ocean dumping of sewage sludge has been prohibited since 2012 by the London dumping convention and protocol and thus removal or treatment of wastewater sludge from field sites is an important issue on the ground site. The hydrothermal carbonization is one of attractive thermo-chemical method to upgrade sewage sludge to produce solid fuel with benefit method from the use of no chemical catalytic. Hydrothermal carbonization improved that the upgrading fuel properties and increased materials and energy recovery, which is conducted at temperatures ranging from 200 to $350^{\circ}C$ with a reaction time of 30 min. Hydrothermal carbonization increased the heating value though the increase of the carbon and fixed carbon content of solid fuel due to dehydration and decarboxylation reaction. Therefore, after the hydrothermal carbonization, the H/C and O/C ratios decreased because of the chemical conversion. Energy retention efficiency suggest that the optimum temperature of hydrothermal carbonization to produce more energy-rich solid fuel is approximately $200^{\circ}C$.

기존 하수처리장에서의 처리 효율개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on the improvement of treatment efficiency in a conventional sewage treatment plant)

  • In this study, sewage were treated with operating Two-step Aeration System and conventional activated sludge process together in a condition. At the same HRT 8hr of Two-step Aeration System and Activated Sludge Process, BOD treatment efficiency of 1st sedimentation basin effluent 36.9% by Two-step Aeration system was 12.3% higher than 24.65 by Activated Sludge Process and the COD treatment efficiency 39.8% by two-step Aeration System was 11.6.3% higher than 28.2% by Activated Sludge Process. BOD and COD treatment efficiencies of 2nd sedimentation basin effluent were 88.1% and 85.6% Two-step Aeration System and were 83.8% and 82.3% Activated Sludge Process. In the first treatment, as BOD was relatively removed a lot, F/M ratio 0.17, $0.21{\cdot}BOD/kg{\cdot}MLSS.d$ was maintained by Activated Sludge Process. Therefore it was proved that organic matter treatment efficiency by Two-step Aeration System os Higher than by Activated Sludge Process in a aeration time 8hr. $NH_4^{+}-N$ treatment efficiencies were 55.5% by Two-step Aeration System and 39.75 by Activated sludge Process. $NO_3^{-}-N$ concentration in 2nd. sedimentation basin effluent were 3.33% by Two-step Aeration System and 2.36% by Activated Sludge Process. From this result, Two-step Aeration System was proved more advantageous treatment process for nitrification than Activated Sludge Process. The fluctuation range of BOD, COD and SS concentration in 2nd sedimentation basin effluent $16~33mg/{\ell}$, $15~23mg/{\ell}$ and $14~22mg/{\ell}$ by Two-step Aeration System was smaller than $16~57mg/{\ell}$, $15~25mg/{\ell}$ by Activated sludge Process. Overall the fluctuation range in 2nd sediment basin effluent by was smaller than by Activated Sludge Process. As a result, it is possible for this Two-step Aeration with no facility investment and a little of operation condition change in a conventional sewage treatment plant to get stability and nitrification of treatment water quality.

우리나라 공공하수처리시설의 방류수 수질 관리체계 개선방안 고찰 - 미국, 일본, 유럽의 공공하수처리시설 방류수 수질 관리제도를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Management System Improvement of Effluent Water Qualities for Public Sewage Treatment Facilities in Korea)

  • 우리나라의 공공하수처리시설 방류수 수질기준을 마련하는데 있어 기준설정 근거를 명확히 하는 것과 하수처리시설의 운영조사를 근거로 적정성 여부를 검토할 수 있는 종합적인 기준설정 체계를 마련할 필요가 있다. 미국은 연방정부가 POTW에 대한 최소한의 항목과 기준의 가이드라인을 제시하며, 지방정부는 국가 가이드라인과 동일하거나 주별 특성을 반영하여 보다 엄격한 가이드라인을 제시하도록 하고 있다. 일본의 경우 하수도법상 방류수 수질기준에서 하수처리시설 구조 기술상의 기준을 만족하여야 하고 방류수 수질기준과 공공수역으로의 배수기준을 동시에 적용하도록 하고 있으며 이에 대한 세부항목 및 기준은 지자체 조례로 규정하고 있다. 유럽의 경우 하수처리시설 방류수 수질기준은 공공수역에 대한 부영양화의 민감성에 따라 수질기준 항목을 차등하여 적용하고, 수계로 배출되는 오염물질 부하량에 따라 수질기준을 차등하여 적용하고 있다. 우리나라도 공공하수처리시설 방류수 수질기준 설정 시 미국 국가오염물질배출삭감제도 또는 유럽 통합환경관리제도에서와 같이 통계적 평균값 및 처리효율 또는 최적처리기술을 적용한 방류수 수질기준을 설정하는 체계를 도입하는 것이 필요하다.

스마트 하수처리장 도입에 필요한 운전제어기술에 관한 연구 (A Study on Operation Control Technology Required for Introduction of Intelligent Sewage Treatment Plant)

  • 스마트(Smart) 하수처리장은 하수처리 전 과정에 대한 ICT 기반의 실시간 모니터링, 원격 제어 관리 및 지능화 체계를 구축하여 안전하고 깨끗한 물환경을 조성하는 것을 의미한다. 이러한 스마트 하수처리장의 핵심이 되는 기술이 계측기를 활용한 운전제어 기술이라 할 수 있다. 본 연구진은 국내에서 진행중인 하수처리장 지능화 연구사업들을 참고하여 지능화사업 구축 시 필요한 운전제어 기술들을 분석하고 제시하였다. 분석 결과 규모별 제어, 반류수 제어, 연계처리수 제어, 약품량 제어, 동절기 운영제어, 총 유기탄소 제어까지 총 6개의 제거 기술에 대해 제시하였다. 규모별로는 소규모와 중규모 대규모로 구분할 수 있는 기준을 제시하였고, 반류수 제어의 경우 반류수를 관리할 수 있는 수질 및 유량 센서의 위치를 제시하였다. 연계처리수 제어의 경우 연계처리수가 하수처리장에 미치는 영향과 제어 지점을 제시하였으며, 약품주입량 제어의 경우 지능형 하수처리장 도입에 따라 약품 주입량을 최적화할 수 있는 시스템을 제시하였다. 동절기 운영의 경우 수온 저하에 따른 질산화 저하를 고려하였을 때 제어해야 하는 센서와 펌프를 제시하였다. 총 유기탄소 제어의 경우 향후 오염총량제를 고려한 연동 시스템을 제시하였다. 이러한 운전제어 시나리오들은 향후 지능형 하수처리 알고리즘과 시나리오에 사용될 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

통계기법을 이용한 공공하수처리시설의 운영실태 평가방법 연구 (A Study on the Evaluation for Operations of Public Sewage Treatment Plants Using Statistics Technique)

  • Korea has been trying to manage water quality of rivers and lakes in many ways. Ministry of Environment is making continuous efforts of operation control improvement such as strengthening effluent standards in sewage treatment plants and expanding Tele-Monitoring System (TMS). However, evaluation method for operations of sewage treatment plants and establishment system of effluent standards are inadequate. The objective of this study is to evaluate for operations of sewage treatment plants using statistics technique such as frequency analysis, percentile, normal distribution analysis. We used the effluent data (BOD, COD, SS) collected at 299 plants in 2012. The values were very low by comparison with standards. The Data followed a normal distribution. We think that distribution characteristics are closely related with effluent standards, especially T-P and BOD. Statistics technique attempted in this study can be used to evaluate for operations of sewage treatment plants and assess the appropriateness of effluent standards based on TBEL(Technology-based effluent limitation). And, this technique can be used to figure out the overall level of plants, the status of each plant and the favorable treatment process for each item (BOD, COD etc.). Data acquired through this method can be used to improve facilities and operation techniques and decide on a sewerage policy.

오픈소스 기반의 하수 시설물 데이터베이스의 효율적 구축 (Efficient Construction of Open Source-based Sewage Facility Database)

  • 지하시설물의 효과적인 데이터의 관리는 인간 삶 측면에서 매우 중요하다. 여기에는 최신성의 정확도 높은 데이터의 입력이 선행되어야 한다. 그래서 효율적인 데이터를 입력을 위한 방법이 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 오픈소스(open source) 소프트웨어를 활용하여 하수 시설물 현장조사 프로그램을 개발함으로써 종이도면을 태블릿PC로 대체할 수 있도록 하였다. 태블릿PC를 활용하여 현장에서 취득하는 도형 및 속성정보를 데이터베이스 서버를 통해 실시간으로 전송하도록 하였으며, PostGIS 쿼리(query)를 개발하여 구조화편집 자동화로 하수 시설물 GIS (Geographic Information System) 데이터베이스 구축에 수작업을 최소화하였다. 또한, 하수 시설물 GIS 데이터베이스 구축 프로그램을 활용하여 데이터베이스 구축을 하였고, 이를 기존방식의 하수 시설물 데이터베이스 구축과 작업공정, 작업시간을 비교·분석한 결과 작업공정이 단순화되었고 작업시간이 단축되었다. 아울러 오픈소스 소프트웨어의 간단한 커스터마이징을 통해 타 분야의 현장조사 및 데이터베이스 구축에 활용할 수 있을 것이다.
