Nowadays new water supply projects have been on the decline as the water-power constructions have saturated, which means that the existing power equipment have slowly aged and they require more efforts to maintain the system performance. An effective asset management method of power equipment has become a great necessity from both economical and technical aspects. To be balanced, the asset management should look into all three parts: management, engineering, and information. The purpose of this paper is to study a Risk-Based Maintenance (RBM) matrix method through the deterioration evaluation algorithm for an efficient reliability assessment of oil-immersed power transformers by considering both asset management and technical evaluation. Make use of this result, the equipment will be decided to be replace or repair otherwise on service.

As the applied fields of GIS are expanded to the transportation, developing internet-based applications for transportation information is getting attention increasingly. Most applications developed so far are primarily focused on guidance systems for owner-driven cars. Although some recent ones are devoted to public transportation systems, they show limitations in dealing with the following aspects: (i) people may change transportation means not only within the same type but also among different modes such as between buses and subways, and (ii) the system should take into account the time taken in transfer from one mode to the other. This study suggest the framework for developing a public transportation guidance system that generates optimized paths in the transportation network of mixed means including buses, subways and other modes. For this study, the Genetic Algorithms are used to find the best routes that take into account transfer time and other service-time constraints.

The purpose of this research is to investigate into possibility of the university library information services for small and medium sized firms. The study is based entirely upon general means of information gathering used by industrial user analyzed by industry su n.0, pporting institutes and university library statistics. The results of the investigation are summarized as follows: 1. Locational convenience is a factor influencing use of libraries, either because libraries are close to work, or because users are used on an o n.0, pportunistic basis. University libraries are located throughout the country. 2. It is investigated that university library services should be more specific in their promotion, clearly stating their strengths and special or unique aspects of their services. 3. When university library does establish fees, good service is implied and must be provided through suitable procedures and staff arrangements.

Many residential areas are situated near to railroad tracks so that a railroad noise has been one of the major environmental issues. In this paper two important aspects have been investigated in order to properly evaluate the railroad vehicle noise : sound power levels for different types and sound propagation characteristics of the railroad vehicles. For noise source characteristics of railroad vehicles, sound power values for various types of trains that are in active service have been measured. In this paper, domestic railroad vehicles are measured and compared with high speed train(TGV). Based on sound power information of railway vehicles, prediction on the sound pressure level and equivalent noise level near to railway areas have been evaluated.

As The development and commercialization of advanced technologies will depend increasingly on efficient technology transfer and technology trading systems and the knowledge economics grows rapidly, the value of intangible assets is more emphasized in business nowadays. Intangible assets include intellectual capital and intellectual property. This requires the development of technology markets or exchanges and hence a reliable technology valuation methodology. Our focus is on the business aspects of technology' contribution and we propose an objective scoring system, which is implemented by ANP, for Technology valuation of enterprise. As a result, This study intends to evaluate the contribution of an individual technology in intangible assets by the Analytic Network Process(ANP).

As the GPS(Global Positioning System) vulnerabilities were introduced, alternative systems to GPS backup have been studied for several years. Enhanced Loran(eLoran) as the worldwide ground-based supplementary radio navigation system was recommended as the cost effective alternative to GPS backup. Many efforts on adoption of eLoran as GPS backup have been presented. The US has been the leading role and announced that 70% enhancement for eLoran was established last year. However, the Obama administration cut off the eLoran budget on the fiscal year 2010 budget proposal while GAO's reports submitted that GPS service gap would be possible just some years later. Besides the US's condition, there are still many positive opinions on eLoran to GPS backup. This paper introduces the historical and technical aspects of eLoran and Korea's research topics.

The purposes of this study were to investigate perspective teachers' conceptions of liquid-state and get implications for the direction of science curriculum or professional development. The instrument was composed of seven questions focusing on aspects of liquid-state phenomena. The results showed that the participants have various alternative concepts about liquid-state. The problem revealed in almost every question was their macroscopic explanations for the phenomena. In addition, it appeared that the participants seemed to understand phenomena in terminology level, but they didn't know basic reasons or fundamental concepts about the phenomena. It is required to change the curriculum or instructional methods in secondary school and teacher education programs to anchor the scientific concepts on molecular or microscopic level.

The performance demonstration round robin test was conducted to quantify the capability of ultrasonic inspection for in-service and to address some aspects of reliability for nondestructive evaluation. The fifteen inspection teams who employed procedures that met or exceeded ASME Sec. XI code requirements detected the pinping of nuclear power plant with various cracks to evaluate the capability of detection. With data from PD-RR test, the performance of ultrasonic nondestructive inspection could be assessed using probability of detection and length and depth sizing of cracks.

The Korea National Agricultural College (KNAC) was established as a special three academic years(six semesters) course by the Presidential Act in July 1995 and opened on March 20, 1997. According to the Act, the students of KNAC are granted free boarding in dormitory, full support of educational expenses, and, after completion, exception in military service and financial support for farming, which is their obligation to do for a double period of the total school year. With these institutional favors KNAC is hight expected to bring up promising young farm managers in Korea. However, actual competitive young farm managers are brought up by the well organized education with emphasis on learning by doing approach. With the relation to the education this study was performed to review and examine present situation of faculty organization, facilities and equipments, curriculum including field training in home land and oversea's counties. This study found out that there were undesirable aspects such as unbalanced faculty members among the departments, lack of practice farm land and limited budget in field training, which should be improved to achieve the objectives of KNAC.
