  • Data stream collected from sensors contain a large amount of useful information including causality relationships. The causality join query for data stream is to retrieve a set of pairs (cause, effect) from streams of data. A part of causality pairs may however be lost from the query result, due to the delay from sensors to a data stream management system, and the limited size of sliding windows. In this paper, we first investigate spatial, temporal, and spatio-temporal aspects of the causality join query for data stream. Second, we propose several strategies for sliding window management based on these observations. The accuracy of the proposed strategies is studied by intensive experiments, and the result shows that we improve the accuracy of causality join query in data stream from simple FIFO strategy.

  • In context awareness using multiple sensors, when using sensor data detected and sent by each sensor, it is necessary to give different weights for each sensor. Even if the same type of sensor is configured for the same situation, sometimes it is necessary to assign different weights due to other secondary factors. It is inevitable to assign weights to events in the real world, and it can be said that a weighting method that can be used in a context awareness system using multiple sensors is necessary. In this study, we propose a weighting method for each sensor that reports to the host while the sensors continue to detect over time. In most IoT environments, the sensor continues the detection activity, and when the detected value shows a change pattern beyond a predetermined range, it is basically reported to the host. This can be called a kind of data stream environment. A weighting method was proposed for sensing data from multiple sensors in a data stream environment, and the new weighting method was to select and assign weights to data that indicates a context change in the stream.

  • The emergences of GeoSensor and researches about GIS have promoted many researches of u-GIS. The disaster application coupled in the u-GIS can apply to monitor accident area and to prevent spread of accident. The application needs the u-GIS DSMS technique to acquire, to process GeoSensor data and to integrate them with GIS data. The u-GIS DSMS must process big and large-volume data stream such as spatial data and multimedia data. Due to the feature of the data stream, in u-GIS DSMS, query processing can be delayed. Moreover, as increasing the input rate of data in the area generating events, the network traffic is increased. To solve this problem, in this paper we describe TRIGGER ACTION clause in CQ on the u-GIS DSMS environment and proposes data source management. Data source weight table controls GES information and incoming data rate. It controls incoming data rate as increasing weight at GES of disaster area. Consequently, it can contribute query processing rate and accuracy

  • The effect of free stream tubulence on the coherent structure in the near wake of a circular cylinder was investigated by a conditional sampling technique. The measurements were made from C.T.A. with hot wire I-probe and a Split-film sensor. Contours of phase-averaged velocity and vorticities were presented and discussed. It was found that the value of the vortex strength increased with increasing free stream turbulence which can enhance the roll-up of the shear layer.

  • Many continuous queries are important to be process efficiently in a data stream environment. It is applied a query index technique that takes linear performance irrespective of the number and width of intervals for processing many continuous queries. Previous researches are not able to support the dynamic insertion and deletion to arrange intervals for constructing an index previously. It shows that the insertion and search performance is slowed by the number and width of interval inserted. Many intervals have to be inserted and searched linearly in a data stream environment. Therefore, we propose Hashed Multiple Lists in order to process continuous queries linearly. Proposed technique shows fast linear search performance. It can be utilized the systems applying a sensor network, and preprocessing technique of spatiotemporal data mining.

  • The influences of the Reynolds number and free-stream turbulence intensity on the flow separation behavior around a circular were investigated experimentally. The range of the Reynolds number and turbulence intensity considered are 10,000 ~ 45,000 and 0.3 ~ 6.8%, respectively. Because of ineffectiveness of using time-mean value of hot-film sensor signals in determining the separation location around the cylinder, a new method using phase-difference of hot-film sensor signals with hot-wire being located in shedding vortex is suggested. The validity of the present method is confirmed by the comparison with flow visualization.

  • In the ubiquitous environment, it is scattered all over our neighboring in many smart objects. These smart objects constantly produce the information and the amount of the generated information is massive. As the internet search engine came out to help us to find the useful data from the sea of the information connected to the internet, the sensor data stream processing middleware is appearing to make us to develop the ubiquitous service easily by extracting the meaningful information from the massive sensor data and delivering the extracted information to the application which makes our life convenient. We have to inform the information relating to the provided service to a middleware so that the ubiquitous service can be provided by using sensor data stream processing middleware. In this paper, we classify the information which is needed to express the ubiquitous service which uses sensor data for the service providing. And we propose a distinct markup language called Context-driven Service Markup Language (CSML) to effectively describe this information. We can easily express the various ubiquitous services which have to be provided in the various situations using proposed CSML.
