  • A 12k-bit SRAM has been developed for line memory of system-on-glass (SoG) with lowtemperature poly-silicon (LTPS) thin film transistor (TFT). For accurate sensing even with the large variation and mismatches in the characteristics of LTPS TFT, mismatch immune sense amplifier is developed. The SRAM shows 30ns read access time with 7V supply voltage while dissipating 4.05mW and 1.75mW for write and read operation, respectively

  • Recently with the development of IT technology, the medical technology have been developed in various ways. Among them, WBAN can check the state of the patient in real time. However, the data generated by these techniques have a problem that they have heterogeneous properties depending on the type of sensors and devices. In this paper, we proposed a method using meta repository as a way to provide the sensing data of WBAN for the health care system by integrating along the HL7 standard item.

  • The dynamic modulation transfer function (MTF) for image degradation caused by sinusoidal vibration is formulated based on a Bessel function of the first kind. The presented method makes it possible to obtain an analytical MTF expression derived for arbitrary frequency sinusoidal vibration. The error obtained by the use of finite order sum approximations instead of infinite sums is investigated in detail. Dynamic MTF exhibits a stronger random behavior for low frequency vibration than high frequency vibration. The calculated MTFs agree well with the measured MTFs with the slant edge method in imaging experiments. With the proposed formula, allowable amplitudes of any frequency vibration are easily calculated. This is practical for the analysis and design of the line-of-sight stabilization system in the remote sensing camera.

  • The opto-functional materials have been developed as a promising research topic toward the end uses for optical materials and applications. The attractive area in this part was the design of sensor molecules for detecting harmful environmental factors. These harmful factors impart undesired effects on wide range of chemical and biological phenomenon. In this context, many researchers have studied luminescence chemosensor materials. These sensor molecules showed optical signals such as color or fluorescence change by detecting harmful environmental factors. In this study, the novel fluorescence chemosensor 1 has been designed and synthesized through reaction of rhodamine 6g hydrazide and 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde. The chemosensor 1 had been analyzed by UV-Vis and fluorescence spectrophotometer. We found that this chemosensor 1 has 'off-on' and dual type sensing properties toward $Cu^{2+}$ and $Mg^{2+}$.

  • Radio frequency identification(RFID) combined with wireless technology has good potential for structural health monitoring(SHM). We describe several advantages of RFID and wireless technologies for SHM, and review SHM examples with working principles, design and technical details for damage detection, heat exposure monitoring, force/strain sensing, and corrosion detection in concrete, steel, carbon fiber reinforced polymer(CFRP), and other materials. Various sensors combined with wireless communication are also discussed. These methodologies can be readily developed, implemented, and customized. There are some technical difficulties, but solutions are being addressed. Lastly, a surface acoustic wave-based RFID system is presented, and possible future trends of SHM based on RFID and wireless technology are presented.

  • This work presents a design technique for the implementation of the liquid level control system by based on the use of a single-chip microcontroller. The proposed model system offers the following attractive features : (1) application of the pressure transducer for sensing the height of liquid in tank (2) using the obtained liquid level for defining on-off condition of the water pump (3) the liquid values were controlled by using stepping motors for controlling of 57 points (4) can set up by using manual control or automatic control (5) can monitor and display the process status either on microcontroller-based control board or on the computer via RS232 serial-port. Experimental results have been employed to show the effectiveness ...

  • Fiber ring laser based intra-cavity absorption spectroscopic sensor has great potential for high sensitivity gas detection. Using the rate equations and propagation equations, we investigated theoretically factors that affect the sensitivity of such fiber ring laser sensors and determined the optimal design parameters and conditions for significant enhancement of the system sensitivity. Experiments have been conducted to determine the sensitivity enhancement performance. The results showed a factor of 25 ~ 30 in sensitivity enhancement in the experimental system, agreeing well with the theoretical expectations. Experiments on acetylene detection have also been carried out and the results showed that the ring cavity significantly increases the signal absorption and that high sensitivity can be obtained for gas detection.

  • Recently, as the geographic information system (GIS) which searches, manages geographic information is used more widely, there is more requests for some systems which can search and display more actual and realistic information. As a response to these requests, the video geographic information system which connects video data obtained by using cameras and geographic information as it is by displaying the obtained video data is being more popular. However, because most existing video geographic information systems consider video data as an attribute of geographic information or use simple one-way links from geographic information to video data to connect video data with geographic information, they support only displaying video data through searching geographic information. In this paper, we design and implement a video geographic information system which connects video data with geographic information and supports hi-directional search; searching geographic information through searching video data and searching video data through searching geographic information. To do this, we 1) propose an ER data model to represent connection information related to video data, geographic information, 2) propose a process to extract and to construct connection information from video data and geographic information, 3) show a component based system architecture to organize the video geographic information system.

  • This paper proposes a novel design of enhanced auto light control system using PLC(Power Line Communication) and SMS(Short Message Service) to copy with emergent cases effectively. In the proposed system, the indoor sensing system is designed to send emergent messages to the users or system manager in case of fire or invasion, which may prevent secondary accident. In addition, data transmission using PLC may drastically decreases the number of lines. The experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed system.

  • The function of SCR system in refuse incineration plant is to reduce the harmful combustion gases especially NOx which make serious environmental pollution. The SCR system normally have a NOx measurement system such as inlet NOx analyzer and outlet T.M.S.(Tele Monitoring System) to control the outlet NOx in stack. The NOx measurement system is very important, however there are frequently happened sensing problems and it need maintenance periodically. In this paper, we propose an estimation method of inlet NOx of SCR system by using general structured observer. The inlet NOx is considered as an input disturbance and it is modelled by applying FFT method in frequency domains. Through the design of general structured observer, the outlet NOx can be estimated by using observation error between real outlet NOx and estimated outlet NOx. The effectiveness of the proposed method is shown by comparing to a measured inlet NOx data.
