In this paper, we proposes a new document summarization method using the expanded query by wikipedia and the semantic feature representing inherent structure of document set. The proposed method can expand the query from user's initial query using the relevance feedback based on wikipedia in order to reflect the user require. It can well represent the inherent structure of documents using the semantic feature by the non-negative matrix factorization (NMF). In addition, it can reduce the semantic gap between the user require and the result of document summarization to extract the meaningful sentences using the expanded query and semantic features. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves better performance than the other methods to summary document.

Recently, several generative models have emerged and are being used in various industries. Among them, Cycle GAN is still used in various fields such as style transfer, medical care and autonomous driving. In this paper, we propose two methods to improve the performance of these Cycle GAN model. The ReLU activation function previously used in the generator was changed to Leaky ReLU. And a new loss function is proposed that considers the semantic level rather than focusing only on the pixel level through the VGG feature extractor. The proposed model showed quality improvement on the test set in the art domain, and it can be expected to be applied to other domains in the future to improve performance.
This paper proposes how to improve performance of the Korean document sentiment-classification system using semantic properties of the sentiment words. A sentiment word means a word with sentiment, and sentiment features are defined by a set of the sentiment words which are important lexical resource for the sentiment classification. Sentiment feature represents different sentiment intensity in general field and in specific domain. In general field, we can estimate the sentiment intensity using a snippet from a search engine, while in specific domain, training data can be used for this estimation. When the sentiment intensity of the sentiment features are estimated, it is called semantic orientation and is used to estimate the sentiment intensity of the sentences in the text documents. After estimating sentiment intensity of the sentences, we apply that to the weights of sentiment features. In this paper, we evaluate our system in three different cases such as general, domain-specific, and general/domain-specific semantic orientation using support vector machine. Our experimental results show the improved performance in all cases, and, especially in general/domain-specific semantic orientation, our proposed method performs 3.1% better than a baseline system indexed by only content words.
The Semantic Web is an extension of the current Web in which information is given formal and explicit meaning. The Semantic Web enables computer programs to understand information contents and thus facilitates more efficient discovery, automation, integration and sharing of data. To create Semantic Web contents one needs appropriate tools. In this paper, we describe such a toolkit we have constructed. The most important feature of the toolkit is that it makes use of information extraction techniques for automatically annotating web page contents. Experiments with a real life application show promising results and demonstrate the usefulness of the toolkit.
This paper is an HPSG approach to agreement phenomena involving the Korean honorific expressions. it is shown that the theoretical devices developed by the constraint-based theory of HPSG can be fruitfully used to capture the interactions between syntactic constraints and semantic of pragmatic factors in Korean honorific agreement. The HPSG's semantic feature 'referential index' plays a key rele in discribing the multiple interaction. The constraint-based theory of agreement proves successful in accounting for the phenomenon that may be called 'inconsistent' honorific agreement as well as 'consistent' regular honorific usages. However, this paper acknowledges its limit. Recognizing an important distinction between basic and 'coercive' honorific expressions, it is argued that a systactic-semantic-pragmatic approach such as the present one can only be applied to basic honorific agreement. Being sociolinguistic in nature, coercive honorific agreement is perhaps not amenable to formal linguistic investigation.
An image semantic segmentation model is proposed based on improved ENet network in order to achieve the low accuracy of image semantic segmentation in complex environment. Firstly, this paper performs pruning and convolution optimization operations on the ENet network. That is, the network structure is reasonably adjusted for better results in image segmentation by reducing the convolution operation in the decoder and proposing the bottleneck convolution structure. Squeeze-and-excitation (SE) module is then integrated into the optimized ENet network. Small-scale targets see improvement in segmentation accuracy via automatic learning of the importance of each feature channel. Finally, the experiment was verified on the public dataset. This method outperforms the existing comparison methods in mean pixel accuracy (MPA) and mean intersection over union (MIOU) values. And in a short running time, the accuracy of the segmentation and the efficiency of the operation are guaranteed.
This paper is an attempt to design segmentation method based on fully convolutional networks (FCN) and attention mechanism. The first five layers of the Visual Geometry Group (VGG) 16 network serve as the coding part in the semantic segmentation network structure with the convolutional layer used to replace pooling to reduce loss of image feature extraction information. The up-sampling and deconvolution unit of the FCN is then used as the decoding part in the semantic segmentation network. In the deconvolution process, the skip structure is used to fuse different levels of information and the attention mechanism is incorporated to reduce accuracy loss. Finally, the segmentation results are obtained through pixel layer classification. The results show that our method outperforms the comparison methods in mean pixel accuracy (MPA) and mean intersection over union (MIOU).

The analysis of prepositional phrases in English-to Korean machine translation has problem on the PP-attachment resolution, semantic analysis, and acquisition of information. This paper presents an analysis system for prepositional phrases, which solves the problem. The analysis system consists of the PP-attachment resolution hybrid system, semantic analysis system, and semantic feature generator that automatically generates input information. It provides objectiveness in analyzing prepositional phrases with the automatic generation of semantic features. The semantic analysis system enables to generate natural Korean expressions through selection semantic roles of prepositional phrases. The PP-attachment resolution hybrid system has the merit of the rule-based and neural network-based method.
Since countability is a grammatical notion, the distinction between count and mass nouns may not reflect countability in the real world. Based on this, Chierchia (1998a; 1998b) provides a typological study of plurality and genericity, which does not account for countability in Korean. Nemoto (2005) revises Chierchia's analysis to deal with count and mass nouns in Korean and Japanese. This study discusses problems with the previous analyses and proposes that the semantic feature of humanness is the main criterion for countability in Korean.

Among the approaches to image database management, content-based image retrieval (CBIR) is viewed as having the best support for effective searching and browsing of large digital image libraries. Typical CBIR systems allow a user to provide a query image, from which low-level features are extracted and used to find 'similar' images in a database. However, there exists the semantic gap between human visual perception and low-level representations. An effective methodology for overcoming this semantic gap involves relevance feedback to perform feature re-weighting. Current approaches to feature re-weighting require the number of components for a feature representation to be the same for every image in consideration. Following this assumption, they map each component to an axis in the n-dimensional space, which we call the metric space; likewise the feature representation is stored in a fixed-length vector. However, with the emergence of features that do not have a fixed number of components in their representation, existing feature re-weighting approaches are invalidated. In this paper we propose a feature re-weighting technique that supports features regardless of whether or not they can be mapped into a metric space. Our approach analyses the feature distances calculated between the query image and the images in the database. Two-sided confidence intervals are used with the distances to obtain the information for feature re-weighting. There is no restriction on how the distances are calculated for each feature. This provides freedom for how feature representations are structured, i.e. there is no requirement for features to be represented in fixed-length vectors or metric space. Our experimental results show the effectiveness of our approach and in a comparison with other work, we can see how it outperforms previous work.
