The data collection was conducted through a self-reporting questionnaire to 373 college students majoring in health and health care at two universities in J.do. and the collected data was analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 23.0 program. The study found that there were significant differences in learning strategies depending on Motive of application and major satisfaction level, and there were significant differences in academic stress with the grade, gender, Motive of application, major satisfaction, and academic self-efficiency, and self-directed learning depending on the grade, motive of application, and major satisfaction level. The results showed that the correlation between learning strategy and academic self-efficacy(r=.478, p<.001) and self-directed learning(r=645, p<.001), academic stress(r=-.193, p<.001). Self-directed learning(${\beta}=0.61$), major satisfaction (satisfaction) (${\beta}=0.31$), and major satisfaction (usually)(${\beta}=0.24$) affect the learning strategy, with 42.6% overall explanation. Based on the results of the study, the search for ways to improve major satisfaction levels and self-directed learning skills could have a positive impact on improving the learning strategy of college students in the health sector.

  • In order to evaluate the usefulness of metaverse learning from the learner's point of view, this study 1) evaluated whether the expectancy-value of the class was satisfied before and after the learner used the metaverse learning platform and 2) verified factors affecting metaverse learning satisfaction with regard to the self-efficacy and expectancy-value of learners. Expectancy-value was evaluated by the learning effect, communication, class involvement, and learning attitude, whereas self-efficacy was evaluated by preference for task difficulty, self-regulation efficacy, and self-confidence. As a result of a study targeting 70 college students who applied for a few courses using the metaverse platform at a university in the northeastern part of Seoul, learners were found to have high expectations and values for learning before using the metaverse platform, but both were not statistically satisfied after use. In addition, the higher the self-efficacy of the learner, the higher the satisfaction with the metaverse learning, and statistically significant results were found in the task-difficulty preference and self-regulatory efficacy among the sub-factors of self-efficacy. There is a negative causal relationship between expectancy-value factors and satisfaction with metaverse learning. This study implies that it is a learner-centered evaluation of metaverse learning, revealing the expectancy-value effect and factors influencing the satisfaction with metaverse learning.

  • With recognition of the self-leadership and creative personality for developing student competitive capability, this study examines the relationships among self-leadership, creative personality, innovative behaviour and learning satisfaction based on survey data from university students. The main findings of the study are as follows: first, the study found that self-leadership was positively associated with creative personality while there was also a positive relationship between self-leadership and innovative behaviour as well as learning satisfaction. Second, the empirical analysis of the paper also shows that creative personality partially mediated the relationship of self-leadership and innovative behaviour, but not for the relationship between self-leadership and learning satisfaction. In addition, the hypothesis on the positive association between learning satisfaction and innovative behaviour was not supported. This paper contributes to our understanding of self-leadership and innovative behaviour research by expanding to university student context and highlighting the role of creative personality. This study proposes that developing the self-leadership and creative personality of student are required for better innovative behaviour and thereby, learning performance.

  • Purpose: Problem-based learning (PBL) has been adopted to foster active and self-directed learning and enhance critical thinking and problem-solving skills in many health-care academic disciplines in Korea. Interest in PBL has rapidly grown with a 6 year pharmacy degree program in Korea. The objective of this study was to evaluate feasibility of PBL, student satisfaction and academic performance with a self-assessment survey questionnaire. Method: Sixty students participated in the PBL for pharmacotherapy course. Average scores from student self-assessment on participation, satisfaction, and academic performance were $3.85{\pm}0.55$, $2.94{\pm}1.04$, $3.09{\pm}0.91$ out of 5 point lickert scale (1-do not agree at all, 5-agree completely), respectively. Results & Conclusion: The level of participation was positively correlated with improvement of communication skill in academic performance (correlation coefficient 0.27, p=0.037). In the quality analysis of the cases provided for PBL, students who participated more in the PBL greatly agreed the cases given were appropriate to learn fundamental knowledge for each disease state. The students disagreed that PBL was fun. The students stated that PBL was good to experience self-directed learning and clinical context beforehand but too time-consuming to devote and too demanding to commit. Lack of facilitator and insight on active learning should be rectified for successful launch of PBL in Korean pharmacy education.
