  • The purpose of this study is to examine whether self-understanding influences self-directed learning, and to analyze the mediating effect of future-oriented thinking in the relationship. For this purpose, 240 middle school students in G area were surveyed using self-understanding scale, future-oriented thinking scale, and self-directed learning scale. The structural equation model was used to verify the mediating effect. The main results are as follows. First, self-understanding of middle school students influenced self-directed learning. Second, future-oriented thinking has a complete mediation effect on self-directed learning. As a result of this research, comprehensive implications were suggested for interventions.

  • This is a study to investigate the factors affecting the Self-control in COVID-19 non-face-to-face online learning participate and to present a strategy for effective program development. The subjects of this study were 105 participants of COVID-19 non-face-to-face online learning participate in J-do area and collected data by self-reported questionnaire. Data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, correlation analysis and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The results of this study were the explanatory power was 50.7% with self-control, self-regulation efficacy, self-confidence. As a result of the above, in order to improve the self-control of participants in Multiple disaster situations non-face-to-face online offline learning, it is necessary to develop a fundamental and continuous educational program that improves the self-regulation efficacy and confidence of learning participants.

  • We present proofs of the stability and convergence of Self-organizing feature map (SOFM) neural network with time-invarient learning rate and binary reinforcement function. One of the major problems in Self-organizing feature map neural network concerns with learning rate-"Kalman Filter" gain in stochsatic control field which is monotone decreasing function and converges to 0 for satisfying minimum variance property. In this paper, we show that the stability and convergence of Self-organizing feature map neural network with time-invariant learning rate. The analysis of the proposed algorithm shows that the stability and convergence is guranteed with exponentially stable and weak convergence properties as well.s as well.

  • As organization's success depends on how much employees are active in recognizing new knowledge and transform into organization's value, this study is to examine the influence of employees' self-directed learning capacity on organizational absorptive capacity, organizational commitment and job involvement. The study has shown that managerial level employees have high level of self-directed learning capacity, and employees who have such high level capacity also shown to have high level of absorptive capacity and organizational affective commitment and job involvement. There were static correlations between all the variables, and absorptive capacity has a complete meditated effect on each variables. Hence, in order to enhance absorptive capacity, organizations should put their effort to develop employees' self-directed learning capacity, which will not only improve individual competency but also lead to organization's success in this competitive global market.

  • In this study, the relationships among self-directed learning ability, science teaching efficacy beliefs (personal science teaching efficacy and science teaching outcome expectation), life satisfaction, job satisfaction, and other background variables of elementary school teachers were investigated. A survey was administered to 234 teachers from 25 elementary schools in Jeonju. It was found that self-directed learning ability of the teachers was significantly correlated with their personal science teaching efficacy, science teaching outcome expectation, life satisfaction, job satisfaction, and age. A stepwise multiple regression analysis revealed that personal science teaching efficacy, life satisfaction, science teaching outcome expectation, and age were the significant predictors on their self-directed learning ability.

  • Purpose: This study identifies the influences of self-directed learning ability and metacognition on clinical competence in nursing students. Method: The subjects consisted of 290 second and third year nursing students. The data were analyzed using t-tests, ANOVA, Scheffe's test, Pearson's correlation coefficients and multiple linear regression via SPSS Statistics version 18.0. Results: On a scale of 1 (lowest) to 5 (highest), the mean self-directed learning ability score of the subjects was 3.19, mean metacognition score was 3.36 and mean clinical competence score was 3.29. A positive correlation was found between clinical competence with self-directed learning ability and metacognition. The strongest predictor of clinical competence was metacognition. Conclusion: To improve the clinical competence of nursing students, these findings indicate that increasing metacognition ability is required.

  • This study was tried to explore the mediating effect of workplace learning and self-efficacy on the relationship between technostress and job satisfaction in convalescent hospital nurses. Data were collected from 149 nurses working at one of 10 convalescent hospitals located in Korea's D region and between July 20 and August 12, 2019 and analyzed using SPSS 24.0. The mediating effects of workplace learning and self-efficacy in the relationship between technostress and job satisfaction were investigated by conducting hierarchical regression analysis and testing for significance based on bootstrapping p values. We found that workplace learning had a complete mediating effect, and self-efficacy a partial mediating effect, in the relationship between technostress and job satisfaction in convalescent hospital nurses. Exploring diverse factors and environmental features affecting job satisfaction in convalescent hospital nurses is highly relevant to clinicians, especially given the gradually increasing number of convalescent hospitals, changes during the era of technology fusion, and the strategic demands arising from an aging society.

  • In order to analyze the degree of self-learning development ability after the clinical training curriculum, the results of 121 questionnaires were analyzed for 3rd and 4th grade students in radiology in the metropolitan area. The overall average of self-learning ability according to gender was $3.07{\pm}0.85$, which was statistically significant according to gender. However, the results according to educational system showed that the overall average was $3.07{\pm}0.85$, which was higher than the average level of self-learning development ability. There was no statistically significant difference according to educational system. The results of the self-learning development ability according to the motivation for selecting the department showed that the students who have chosen their department due to their higher employment rate after graduation had high self-development ability level($3.58{\pm}0.85$) but the students who entered the school due to self-aptitude had relatively lower self-development ability level ($2.30{\pm}0.40$). The overall average of self-learning ability according to direction of career path was $3.08{\pm}0.76$, which was over-average of self-learning development ability. Thus, there was statistically significant difference according to career path. It is necessary to improve the self-learning ability in clinical practice. In addition, the lack of statistical significance suggests problems and diversity.

  • This study classifies the characteristics of e-learning learners into personal and psychological factors and examines how they affect the e-learning effects and intention to reuse. For this purpose, a research study was conducted targeting university students at Y and K universities in Gyeongsangbuk-do. As a result, first, the grade, self-control, concentration and self-efficacy of the learner influenced the learning effect of e-learning. Second, learner's grade, e-learning experience, self-efficacy, and learning effect were found to influence e-learning intention. Therefore, the system design and the managerial role of the instructor should be considered in order to develop various contents considering the characteristics of university students and to manage the learning process by themselves. The results of this study are expected to provide effective data for improving the learning effect of e-learning and to provide basic data on individual characteristics of e-learning learners.
